Happy Thanksgiving!

Today was the first time in years that my mom has been home for Thanksgiving and I couldn't be happier! It was her, her husband Bob, LaVaughn, Aunt Sharon, and Uncle Gene... all together! This is such a rare occasion, seriously. I just hope the good vibes and lovely people flow through to Christmas.

Of course, like every other year, we had Thanksgiving dinner. This should come as no surprise, our aunt has a huge dinner (for usually no more than 4 of us) every year and always cooks way too much food. That's just her, though. It was a lot nicer this year, considering there were actually more people to eat said food. Nothing exciting happened during dinner, it's the events that follow that were exciting.

And that leads me to my next subject... Black Friday! Well, technically it should be called Black Thursday, but whatevs. Believe it or not, I actually talked LaVaughn into going with me. Well, I actually think it was the $15 Walking Dead game that pushed her over the edge. Anyways, we swallowed our pride, got a couple weapons to protect ourselves, and off we went.

I knew it was going to be bad when you could see cars lined up all the way down the street from the store. My suspicions confirmed just how bad it was when we entered the actual parking lot... which was packed. We ended up having to park at the grocery store that was a couple parking lots away. That was fine with me, I knew it would be easier to make it out when we were ready to leave.

We ended up in the store around 5:10, only to find out that the 4:00 deals didn't start until 6:15!? WTF!? Since we had a good hour to wait, we decided to head back to the pet section where we could be alone. I left periodically and tried to scope things out, which was a bad mistake each and every time. Each and every isle was lined up with hundreds of people, no joke! It was a nightmare!

And every 5 minutes or so, someone would come over the intercom and say, "Remember everyone, no item in this store is worth getting hurt over. Please keep your safety, and the safety of your fellow shoppers in mind." It was hysterical!

As soon as they let the flood gates open, you could hear the swell of everyone's voices. It was scary! It was then that we decided to head out and try to make our way to the movie and video game section, which was not easy. The first things that we found were two red light bulbs for the glider room... go figure. We got stuck between a couple dozen people around the jewelry section with our stupid cart, all the while being coached by a lady behind us telling us to just slam people out of the way basically. It was funny.

We finally made it to the gift isle where we ended up ditching our cart entirely so that we would have better luck fighting through the crowds.

We then found our way back to the main isle where a couple awesome things were. Sorry, can't include what they were, considering the people we got them for could be reading. After that, I believe I shouted, "I have no idea where they are!" That's when a Walmart associate asked what we were looking, she then pointed us in the right direction.

Here's where it gets scary...

The isles that had the movies and games were smashed in the clothing section. There was maybe enough room for one row of people to walk down, but do you think that's what they did? Of course not! There were TWO rows of people smashing down each isle! We found the TV show section, but were unsuccessful in finding The Walking Dead season 3 and Supernatural season 8... boo!

That's when we made our way to the other side of the isle where the majority of the movies were. We were lucky enough to find The Lord of the Rings trilogy on blu-ray. Win! We also found a 300, Troy, and Alexander triple play on blu-ray. Among a few others, of course.

What I'm most excited about it... The Walking Dead!! While we were smashed between 2 dozen people, we were complaining that we couldn't find it because it was all the way on the other side of the isle. That's when the lady in front of us turned and said,

"What is it that you're looking for?"

We told her what we were looking for on a 360 and she shouted over to the next isle:

"The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead, is it over there!?"

That's when I guy ripped one up and tossed it over to her. She then turned around and gave it to us. SO awesome, lol. It wasn't long after that, that we separated. LaVaughn stayed hidden in a rack of clothes while I journeyed back to the TV show section in hopes of finding what we were looking for. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful.

In other news... we got our Puff/Pillow pouches yesterday (not sure what she calls them now)!! They're adorable!! They're a little smaller than our first 4, but not by much. Now we have a pouch for every cage!!

Okay, I believe this blog has gone on long enough. Also, I'm getting sick of writing, lol. Until next time...

Love & Peace

Here's what the store looked like when one a fraction of the people got there:

♫ Come on, babe. Follow me... ♫

Well, I ended up not going to work yesterday... I know, I'm horrible. If I didn't have so many stressful things going on right now, I would have went in. But all this with our aunt, family stopping by, Thanksgiving right around the corner, and not to mention, being harassed by the crazy fabric lady that's trying to make us dish out $25 to ship HER fabric back to her! Sigh... I need to go stay at a resort for a week or two.

Okay, time for some happy news!! Chloe and Boone's upcoming joeys are not only a leu and a plat, but a leu and a TRUE PLATINUM MOSAIC!!! Can you freaking believe it!?!?!? So this wondrous occasion is proof that Boone is, in fact, a mosaic under his white! I'm in awe!

LaVaughn and I messaged Shannon to be 100%. She has plats ALL the time, so if anyone knew, it would be her. Apparently, plats ears are the first thing to color up, as well as their tails. Their ears are very, very dark, even when they're tiny babies. Our little guy's ears are basically white with a few speckles of gray. And his tail is almost solid white with one faint little ring on it. SO adorable!!

This is something that would happen to another breeder, not us!

As if Taylor wasn't excited enough about her little leu boy, she now has to be excited about a TPM!! I'm so happy for her. I know how excited we were to get Cas, so this is just so awesome for her. I love being able to hook friends up with their dream gliders. Makes me feel awesome.

I got lots of awesome pictured of both boys a little while ago, plus pictures of everyone else in the glider room. I was just going to take pictures of Chloe's babies and give everyone treats, but since I already had the camera in there, I thought, "Why not?" Now, I didn't go nuts this time and get 8 face pictures of every glider, I just got a group shot and then one face pictures of each. I think I might have taken two of Charli and Violet, though. I also took a few more of Avon for Kalie.

In non-glider related news... we tried gelato for the first time yesterday! While I was in the store, I noticed that they actually had some. And since there was only one tiny, little jar of pistachio gelato left, I decided to get it. And dude, it's awesome! I have to admit, it is a lot richer and creamier than regular ice cream, but not so intense that you would be able to tell a mile away. Wait, did I just contradict myself? Anyways, it's definitely worth a try.

So... am I the only one looking forward to the Black "Friday" that's starting tomorrow evening? Walmart actually has a few things that I want to get people for Christmas (unfortunately I can't say what). Not to mention, they have The Walking Dead season 3 and Supernatural season 8 for $10 each!! They also have The Walking Dead game (the one with the Dixon brothers) for $15, The Lord of the Rings trilogy on blu-ray for $10, and a handful of other awesome things for even cheaper! I know, I'm terrible. LaVaughn doesn't want to go with me, and I'm too scared to go alone, so I don't know what I'll do. Sigh...

Oh well, at least we have Thanksgiving Dinner to look forward to tomorrow and (hopefully) the same "Black Thursday" deals online! Just in case you don't hear from me tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving! Make sure you're thankful for the little things. There are millions of people out there that don't even know if they'll be able to find a piece of bread to eat tomorrow, or someplace to keep them warm tonight..

Love & Peace

Saying goodbye is never easy...

I received a very heartbreaking message on my break yesterday... my aunt, the one who I spoke about in a recent blog, passed away yesterday morning. Luckily, she was surrounded by her family. She was very, very ill, so at least she's not suffering anymore.

Of course, she's my aunt and I love her with all of my heart, but she wasn't my closest aunt. That doesn't alter that fact that I can't stop thinking about her and can't shake the dismal feeling I have. Only time heals this kind of hurt.

I feel worse for her kids and grand-kids. I know how it is to loose someone close to you, so my heart goes out to all of them. I just hope that they're able to move past this as quickly as they can. That's easier said than done, though. I wasn't right for months after my grams passed away... I'm still not, even after 4 years. So please just keep my family in your thoughts if you wouldn't mind.

I assumed the wake would be tomorrow and the funeral Wednesday, but I was wrong. They've postponed the wake to Friday from 4-5 and the funeral at 1 on Saturday. I already called work a little while ago and told them that I would be late tomorrow, due to the wake. I'll probably go in on time anyways, even though I could avoid the hellhole for a couple hours.

Also, I took Sunday off because we have to go to Poplar Bluff and meet Kalie with Avon. That really sucks, considering the funeral is on Saturday. I can't afford to take of two days in a row! I'm not supposed to be there until 1, so maybe they'll be cool if I'm late again? If I even go... who knows.

Okay, enough doom and gloom!

LaVaughn and I got a good enough glimpse of Chloe's joeys today to determine the color and gender! We have... twin boys!! One leu and one plat!! I'm dying over here! It's torture to be able to see them and not hold them and cuddle with them. Ugh, the waiting sucks.

Oh yeah! I completely forgot to bring this up! Okay, lets start from the beginning...

Earlier this month, a lady that bough a set from us was so impressed with our work that she wanted to send us some fabric so that we could sew it for her. Since we've had no problem doing this in the past -- very successfully, I might add -- we said yes.

Okay, well a week passed and we ended up receiving 3 packages from her! One with 2 yards of fleece, one box with about 5 yards of cotton/flannel, and then a HUGE bold with 3 different yards of fabric on it! And apparently we were the one that were going to have to buy a solid to match up with everything! Wtf!?

Also, let me add... I told her that it would be a while before we could get all of this done. We had several orders in front of her that we didn't even remotely have done (including Hannah's pouches, I'm so sorry if you're reading this, I promise we're working on it!). She was fine with that and even stated that she didn't care how long it took to make them.

Okay, well right around the time we got some of the fleece was when I was terribly sick. It took me like 2 weeks to get over that horrible sickness and the last thing I wanted to do was sew. Then after that, our aunt started getting really sick.

There was just too much going on to worry about the vast amounts of stuff she wanted sewn! Which she was okay with.

Well, last week sometime, I told her I would get pictures of her fabric for her. I believe I told her on Friday that I would get pictures Saturday, which I did! I also told her that I had to work all weekend, so when I would get home at 1 in the morning, I would completely forget about the pictures.

Well early Sunday morning, we get a message from her complaining that we never sent her the pictures and we have horrible customer service and loads of other things. I asked LaVaughn to send her the pictures (while I was at work) and she did.

She and LaVaughn went back and forth all day. This chick is one rude lady!

So now, since she's so impatient and doesn't care that we're going through a LOSS right in the MIDDLE of the HOLIDAYS, she wants us to send the fabric to another lady at OUR COST!?!? Please tell me, is this not right!?

I am just so sick of this lady and her antics. I'll be so glad when her fabric is in someone else's hands. At her cost, I might add. Ugh, I need to go now, I've completely pissed myself off all over again. Until next time...

Love & Peace
