Talking about something out of a movie, this was just that.
Just a little back story: We've needed new tires on our car for a couple weeks now, so we called the auto place and had them order some. Well, they got them in yesterday, but couldn't put them on until today. That was fine with us. Well, we've also needed a new battery for the car for a while, but always put it of.
Ok, our right front tire was low today, so we had to air it up before we left. We get it to about 20lbs and decided that would get us to the auto place. We would've aired it up more, but we were using a hand pump, so it was kind of hard. Anyway, we decided to go ahead and go early just in case we needed to stop half way and put some more air in. We get a little over 2 miles down the road and decide to pull over and see how it was doing. So, we pull in to some church driveway and check it out. It seemed to be holding air pretty good, but we wanted to air it up a little more, just to be safe. After we do that, we jump back in the car and get ready to leave. I'm sure you can figure out the rest of this for yourself, am I right? That's right, our battery was dead. We were like in the middle of nowhere (we live a ways out of town) and didn't have either of our phones with us... go figure. After a couple minutes, a guy pulls up and offers to go grab a cell phone for us. Naturally, we said sure. He left and came back about 5 minutes later empty handed. He offered to give us a ride to his place so we could use his phone. We said, "No, that's cool." and just decided to walk back to our house.
After about a mile and a half of walking in the heat, we really started to feel it. So, after our 2 mile walk back, you better believe we were happy to be home. I think we almost cried, lol. We ended up borrowing a car so that we could go get a new battery from Walmart. And can you guess how much an Everstart battery is from Walmart? It was $91 (without tax)! I mean, it's worth it cause we were desperate, but damn man. After we got that, we went back to our car, changed the battery and headed home.
And here we are. Now we're $100 short and still don't have our tires. Better luck tomorrow. Until then, love and peace...
