Christmas Cooking Making -- One for the books!

Neither LaVaughn, or I, have ever made Christmas Cookies. We've both talking about doing it for the past few years and finally got the supplies to do so on Monday. Well today was the BIG day, filled with lots of flour and sprinkles -- even a few tantrums along the way!

The day wouldn't have started off as sour had our sugar cookie recipe not been so dang sticky! We have to overload the cutting board with flour to even attempt to cut them out, which naturally made the cookies a lot "fluffier" and not as sweet as they should have been. But hey, we were mainly in it for the decorating process, so taste didn't mean all that much.

At the end of the day we were tired, filthy and a little agitated, but overall we thoroughly enjoyed the entire process and can FINALLY say that we've made (and decorated) Christmas cookies!

This is something I feel everyone needs to experience at least once in their life, so get out there and get the supplies you need to make memories that last a lifetime!

Of no use sitting in storage...

My uncle's dad gave us his TV when he moved back to Texas way back when. This was back in 2011 or 2012, I can't really remember. It was a super nice 1080p HD Sony flat screen. My uncle's dad did not skimp on quality when it came to buying necessities for his house. He was a rich old man that literally threw thousands and thousands away at the casinos in Vegas. This completely irrelevant to this post, my apologies.

Anyways! He gave us his TV, but we had just purchased our first flat screen, so we didn't feel the need to use that one at the time. We had planned on putting it in the glider room, but we never got around to it, so it's been in storage for over 3 years. This was when we lived in our old house, so we didn't have the use of a second TV at the time, other than in the glider room.

Out of the blue last night, LaVaughn mentioned that we should set it up in our den and replace our old small flat screen with it. It's definitely superior to the cheap one we bought -- plus we were curious what the image quality would be like with our PS4. So we braved the storage earlier today and carried it up to the house.

Wow, what a difference! The quality is impeccable -- it's honestly better than the "fancy" TV we have in the living room, which is a shock. I love it! Gaming is unreal now, I just wish I hadn't rushed through GTA 5 and could enjoy the improved quality.

It's amazing what you forget about when you store stuff. Makes you wonder what the point even is. Now I kinda want to clear everything out and either use it, or throw it away.

Kinda hard to share the quality via the computer screen, but you can imagine how nice it is.

Christmas shopping is coming to a close...

LaVaughn and I were planing on going to Cape yesterday to finish up our holiday shopping, but we decided to go to Farmington instead. Besides, who really wants to go to Cape if they don't have to? That's one of the most godawful drives in the world.

Plus, we were able to get our flu shots at the health department yesterday as well! I didn't know it was all the way in Park Hills. I just trusted the GPS and followed it. Worst drive ever! Not to mention the health department was creepy and horribly busy -- I don't like people, especially people that are in the flu clinic.

Anyways, ever since I went in Shoe Carnival the other week and saw this amazing Nine West handbag, I've wanted it. I should have got it then, but I wanted to wait until after Black Friday before I made a purchase for myself. Now nothing satisfies me. I went in 3 different stores yesterday looking for a handbag that would satisfy me, but none did. I'm glad that I wanted to go in JC Penney, because we found an amazing gift for my aunt white we were in there. It was definitely worth it.

Of course, we went to Walmart for bath sets, but that's really the best place to get them and we haven't got any this year. After we finished Xmas shopping in there, we paid and went back in to grocery shop. I hated it, but our cart was far too full to put potentially wet groceries on.

It was a very long, semi-successful day, but man was I exhausted! We left the house just after one and didn't get home until nearly 9. It may have been a little after, actually.

Bath & Body Works - Holiday Lineup!

When Bath & Body Works has a $5 fragrance sale, you most certainly take advantage! LaVaughn and I have been wanting to order some of their new holiday scents for some time now -- we even went in the store a couple weeks ago to sample everything and see what we wanted. Turns out they ALL smell amazing, so why not order them all, right?

We managed to get 8 amazing full size holiday scents for around $38 shipped! Can you believe that? I've never loved a sale as much as I have their $5 fragrance sale. This has all of the Black Friday sales beat, hands down.

Once upon a December...

Nothing to share today, just wanted to post on December 1st. I have to work late for the next few days and know that I won't be able to blog, so I wanted to make sure I got in at least one post before we're a week into December...
