Weekly iPhone Roundup {1.28 - 2.3}

As I'm sure most people in the US know, last week was full of snow and ice. Much to my surprise we also got mass amounts of ice Sunday night into Monday morning. I really had no clue it was supposed to happen or LaVaughn and I would've both left Perryville Monday morning after work. Of course, things didn't happen that way and by the time I woke up at noon on Monday it was too late, the ice was everywhere.

The joys of working until after 4AM is not being able to wake up earlier.

If you know anything about us you know that the ice didn't stop us from clawing our way home. It took twice as long to get home, but thank God we made it in once piece. We did slide to a stop in Fredericktown before we picked up our groceries, resulting in me almost rear-ending the car in front of me. Thankfully that didn't happen.

I've driven on snow and ice a few times before, but nothing as bad as this. It was stupid and careless of us to attempt to make it home, but every homebody in the world knows they'll do whatever it takes to get home.

In non-near death experiences, my heat mat arrived for my lemon trees this week. It's really new and won't lay flat just yet, but the more it heats up the better it will work.

I think that's all for now. I hope everyone had an awesome week!

Ice covered window in the car. We legit had to let the car run for over 20 minutes. We both got out and scraped the window multiple times, but the ice was so thick.

We stopped for a coffee at The Station in Fredericktown. You know, priorities.

Waiting on Walmart pickup.

This was highway 67 - not as bad as others, but still pretty bad.

This is highway 34 coming into Piedmont. It was really nasty.

We parked at Murphy's Pizza in Piedmont to call my aunt to let her know we were okay. As you can see, the roads were terrible.

This is highway 143 just past the store I used to work at in Des Arc, completely covered in ice.

Our frozen yard. This was fun to walk on.

I ventured out on Thursday for some necessities.

Our county road was still completely covered in ice.

Thankfully the highway wasn't and there was enough gravel showing through to give me some traction.

Some of my lemon seeds are starting to sprout up!

This is the heat mat I bought from Amazon. So far so good.

Look at all these little guys snug on their warm mat.

Weekly iPhone Roundup {12.24 - 12.30}

I know I haven't blogged all week, but there's honestly been nothing to blog about. I've spent a lot of time with family this week - when I'm not doing that I'm playing games... shocker. I'm so very thankful for our new internet provider, but it's still not fiber fast, but it gets the job done. I've been downloading God of War: Ragnarok since Sunday and it's still not done. Mind you, I don't let it download 24/7, but roughly 12 hours a day maybe. It's like 86gb, but I was able to play it when it hit like 28gb, so there's that.

Let me just say that this game is a blast! I mean, it's as GOW as any other, but the combat in this game is what makes it's so much fun.

In between downloading that, I've been playing the remastered version of The Last Of Us. Literally been one of y favorite games of all time since December of 2014, which is when I got it for the first time on PS4. Plus I'm wanting to play while I impatiently wait on HBO's The Last Of Us to come out. I've been counting down the days for months now.

Anyways, here are the random ass photos from my week. Hope everyone has a save and Happy New Year!

Snowy view from upstairs, just before we went home Christmas Eve.

The most random Christmas Eve shopping items.

Our beautiful snow covered road.

Homemade rice crispie treats.

Homemade sugar cookies.

The one present I'll share with you, my awesome new tripod that my aunt and uncle got me. SO thankful to have a new one, I can't wait for Milky Way season!

Homemade pumpkin bars with homemade icing.

Kool-Aid pie and cream cheese pie with toffee topping.

My beautiful boxador.

This is one of my favorite purchases this year. It's a palm tree light for camping, which my uncle mentioned he wanted late summer. He loved it.

More snow Christmas night.

This was like 3:30am Monday.

Still snowing at 3pm Monday.

God of War Ragnarok was 89% away from being able to play. There was still like 60gb to go.

Seriously obsessed with this spinach and artichoke dip right now. I took this pic because I asked my aunt to pick some up for me.

The Last Of Us Remastered. Seriously the best game ever.

And lastly, a wet leaf on concrete.

Weekly iPhone Roundup - Loads Of Snow Photos! {12.17 - 12.23}

So I know I haven't blogged much this week, but with it being this close to the holidays I really don't have time. Not to mention, I don't really have anything to blog about. I'm blogging kind of late tonight, but that's only because we had to come to Perryville today to spend tonight and a smidge of tomorrow with our Perryville family. We have to grab a few things tomorrow before we head home. We have to cook a LOT tomorrow, plus open all our gifts.

We did run in Buchheit's today to grab a last minute gift for my aunt and THANKFULLY they had exactly what I was looking for! That's all for now, here are the pictures from this chaotic week - including the winter storm we had!

Perryville court house all decked out in Christmas lights last Saturday.

My orphan baby that I'm taking care of.

The lighting between the houses here hits just right.

This is a very unpopular isle in the store, yet it was horribly packed Monday.

Christmas wrapping madness Monday night.

The bald eagle we say Wednesday. My phone camera sucks when you have to zoom.

The beautiful sunset outside of Cherokee Pass.

First bit of snow yesterday around 1PM.

Here's the snowfall a little over 2 hours later.

This was around 3PM.

It was snowing like crazy and our security cameras picked it up SO well!

Especially the one on the outside of the gate, it was really awesome looking!

It was snowing heavily here.

The yard looked so pretty all covered in snow.

It's super hard to capture on my phone.

I had to brave the elements because there was a DVD chilling in the mailbox... literally.

It looked so much better in person, the woods were blurry with snow.

The car was completely covered... and freezing.

Ice and snow all over the car window.

Only 19 degrees at this point, but it got MUCH colder.

Visibility was very low.

But what I could see was beautiful.

View from our mailbox.

It was really coming down.

Snow covered country roads are the prettiest.

This part looks like a snowy path in the woods.

Believe it or not, people were actually driving on the highway.

Christmas lights and footprints.

The glow of the Christmas lights on the snow was so beautiful.

Much to our surprise - after it stopped snowing - the electricity went off from like 8-11pm last night. Did I also mention that it was like 5 degrees out? Thank God for kerosene heaters.

It was nice to have a bunch of battery operated Christmas lights everywhere.

And lanterns in the doorway.

And lanterns on the table.

And a lighted wreath.

This chunky little sugar glider (Theon) was terrified of the silence and darkness. I know gliders are nocturnal, but all of our gliders are used to a nightlight and get freaked out when it's not on.

It was legit 0 degrees on the drive over today. The wind chill was like -20.

Beautiful snow covered gravel road.

It was a snow covered highway too.

The people that own this house and lake had a beautiful frozen over lake to wake up to today.

All of C highway was this covered.

It made for some interesting driving.

And lastly, all the presents for our Perryville family in the backseat of the car - one of my favorite sights!
