Weekly iPhone Roundup - Loads Of Snow Photos! {12.17 - 12.23}

So I know I haven't blogged much this week, but with it being this close to the holidays I really don't have time. Not to mention, I don't really have anything to blog about. I'm blogging kind of late tonight, but that's only because we had to come to Perryville today to spend tonight and a smidge of tomorrow with our Perryville family. We have to grab a few things tomorrow before we head home. We have to cook a LOT tomorrow, plus open all our gifts.

We did run in Buchheit's today to grab a last minute gift for my aunt and THANKFULLY they had exactly what I was looking for! That's all for now, here are the pictures from this chaotic week - including the winter storm we had!

Perryville court house all decked out in Christmas lights last Saturday.

My orphan baby that I'm taking care of.

The lighting between the houses here hits just right.

This is a very unpopular isle in the store, yet it was horribly packed Monday.

Christmas wrapping madness Monday night.

The bald eagle we say Wednesday. My phone camera sucks when you have to zoom.

The beautiful sunset outside of Cherokee Pass.

First bit of snow yesterday around 1PM.

Here's the snowfall a little over 2 hours later.

This was around 3PM.

It was snowing like crazy and our security cameras picked it up SO well!

Especially the one on the outside of the gate, it was really awesome looking!

It was snowing heavily here.

The yard looked so pretty all covered in snow.

It's super hard to capture on my phone.

I had to brave the elements because there was a DVD chilling in the mailbox... literally.

It looked so much better in person, the woods were blurry with snow.

The car was completely covered... and freezing.

Ice and snow all over the car window.

Only 19 degrees at this point, but it got MUCH colder.

Visibility was very low.

But what I could see was beautiful.

View from our mailbox.

It was really coming down.

Snow covered country roads are the prettiest.

This part looks like a snowy path in the woods.

Believe it or not, people were actually driving on the highway.

Christmas lights and footprints.

The glow of the Christmas lights on the snow was so beautiful.

Much to our surprise - after it stopped snowing - the electricity went off from like 8-11pm last night. Did I also mention that it was like 5 degrees out? Thank God for kerosene heaters.

It was nice to have a bunch of battery operated Christmas lights everywhere.

And lanterns in the doorway.

And lanterns on the table.

And a lighted wreath.

This chunky little sugar glider (Theon) was terrified of the silence and darkness. I know gliders are nocturnal, but all of our gliders are used to a nightlight and get freaked out when it's not on.

It was legit 0 degrees on the drive over today. The wind chill was like -20.

Beautiful snow covered gravel road.

It was a snow covered highway too.

The people that own this house and lake had a beautiful frozen over lake to wake up to today.

All of C highway was this covered.

It made for some interesting driving.

And lastly, all the presents for our Perryville family in the backseat of the car - one of my favorite sights!

Ugh, today was horrible...

I'm so glad this day is over, it was so creepy.

We told out aunt that we would go with her to court in Poplar Bluff today. So, we got ready and left her house at like 10:30. For one, we're not morning people, we don't usually leave the house while the sun is out unless it's before 7 or so. Anyway, that was one thing. The other was the fact that her hearing wasn't until like 2, so we were going to be up there for a long time. While we were up there, we did our usual run, PetsWay, Pets R Us and Hasting's. But that still left us with over an hour to burn. So we went to the courthouse and just sat there. After about 20 minutes, our aunt decided to go ahead and go in, so we followed. We got to the second floor, found where we had to be and waited... and waited... and waited. When no one else started to show up (her lawyer, the opposite party and their lawyer), we got suspicious. LaVaughn tried to get her to call her lawyer, but she wouldn't. So at like 2:15, she finally called. The hearing ended up being discontinued. So yes, it was a complete waste of a trip.

After we left there, our aunt was pissed and wanted to get something to eat. She wanted Godfather's Pizza, so that's where we went. When we were like halfway there, her husband call and said he was just outside of Poplar Bluff and wanted to come eat with us. So we ended up driving all the way out of PB to get him and then all the way back in to the pizza place. We got there, ate a couple pieces of pizza, sat there and stared at each other and then left.

This has been one of the creepiest days ever. I don't think I was ever that happy to be home, lol. I'm just glad that I had a nap and it's all over.

Today wasn't a complete waste though. I got some nice before and during pictures to cheer you all up. But, I guess that's all for now. Until the next creepy day, peace...

Song of the day: The Day That Never Comes by Metallica

This is one of our aunts Tulips. Very pretty.

As were these.

I think these were her favorite, though.
.
I shot this and the next two pics with the burst function on our camera. They all turned out pretty awesome considering Sadie was moving the entire time.
.
This one is so cute.

So is this one.
.
This was taken in the car while we were waiting. Very gross looking spider.
.
I actually got this picture by accident. Then I noticed that this was some trick ass ambulance from the slums and decided to keep the picture. I couldn't not blow up the writing on the side, it was too funny, lol.
.
Then this "Pimp My Ride" reject pulled in to the shop across the street. And naturally, it was the strip clubs ride, lol. Too funny...
