Eagle's Nest

I was turned on to a local Eagle's Nest by someone that came in the store I once worked at. It wasn't until I tried to find an Eagle last week that I remembered it. The details in my mind were very few, but I had a general idea as to where it was. Mind you, I did get terrified a time or two due to all the curves, turns and forks.

Luckily everything worked out and I was able to find the place. I took my telephoto lens with me in hopes of catching a shot, but there were no Eagles to be seen. It wasn't until LaVaughn noticed an Eagle head inside the next in one of her photos. I zoomed in on a couple of mine and, sure enough, there was an Eagle. These pictures are definitely not the best, but at least it was worth the drive.

I'd like to go back next week or the week after on a warmer, sunnier evening to try and see them outside their next. Fingers crossed!

Here are the not so good pics:

Here's the Eagle's Nest and the tiny Eagle head popping.

Here's the Eagle's Nest from a distance. The picture doesn't do it justice, but this thing is gigantic.

There's a better shot of the Eagle's head.

I'm assuming this is mom and dad is off hunting for his family.

I never would have imagined that an Eagle would make a nest in such opened and exposed place.

I'm fairly certain this tree is dead as well.

But perhaps it's the strongest tree in the area.

I really have no knowledge when it comes to an Eagle's Nest.

I guess it just blows my mind that there's an actual, visual Eagle's Nest in Annapolis, MO.

Last Eagle's Nest picture for the week. Hopefully you can zoom in enough to see the Eagle's head.

- Weekly iPhone Roundup {2.18 - 2.24}

What an eventful week! So my aunt surprised us with 6 Easter Egger chicken over the weekend and they are the CUTEST! Then I made the mistake of calling Buchheit's Saturday and finding out that they had all kinds of baby chicks! I ended up getting 8 more chicks. I know, that's kind of a lot at once, but I couldn't help myself.

I ended up getting 2 Barred Rock, 2 Dominique, 2 Polish Crested and last, but definitely not least... 2 Silkies!! We have a white little roo, so I got a white Silkie and a buff colored Silkie. Little known fact about me, Silkies are my favorite chickens in the world, so it tickled me to death to find baby Silkies. I wanted to take them all, no joke.

Then out of nowhere Tuesday evening, our white Polish Crested got very lethargic. She was just standing off to herself, not eating or drinking, just sleeping. I got her out and held her and fed her some chick started mixed with water. I would scrape a small amount on her beak until she would finally eat it. Then we dripped some sugar water on her beak, which she ended up drinking. It took a few hours for her to come around, but thank God she did.

By the end of the night she was standing in the food and eating herself!

I guess that's all for now, here are the pics from the week (there's a lot):

McDonald's for the win Saturday night.

It was so dead in Perryville Sunday night, like more than usual.

Here are the beautiful little Easter Egger chicks!

I love them so much.

Here are the little chicks in their new home for the sex several weeks.

I unintentionally had 4 white cheddar items in my cart Monday. Definitely wasn't planned.

Canning jars galore at Buchheits!

Oh how I wanted every single one of these baby ducklings.

Here's the new additions.

I also grabbed a big pack of ammo from Walmart for our new .22 handguns that my mom and step dad got LaVaughn and myself for Christmas.

Here are all the little chicks together. It's hard to tell them apart in this pic.

The little black ones are the Barred Rock and Dominique. The grey and white is one of the Polish Crested, the other Polish and two Silkies are mixed in there somewhere.

Look how much my lemon sprouts are growing! I topped them off with more soil earlier this week, but I think they look amazin.

Here's our little white Polish Crested. She was so pitiful.

She also looks very hateful.

But she's a sweet little baby chick.

I went for a ride Wednesday to try and find a Bald Eagle that I saw on the drive home Monday. I didn't find it, unfortunately.

I drove down C highway, which is pictured here. There's always Bald Eagles in this location.

Weekly iPhone Roundup {2.11 - 2.17}

It's that time again. At least I managed a regular post this week, which didn't happen last week. However, I do have far fewer pictures to share from my phone this week. I don't know why, I just didn't take that many.

It's been kind of a boring week, but we did get all the lumber delivered for our new chicken coop! I'm so, so, so excited! It's going to be a massive upgrade from our ancient one. This one will be completely enclosed with an actual floor, windows and a roof! It'll also have a heat lamp for the winter months. I literally can't wait.

I guess that's all for now, here are the pics:

My mom's dog, Ella. She's the chunkiest and sweetest girl. Although she looks pretty crazy here.

Late night McDonald's mobile orders for the win. Their americanos are so freaking good.

This is a dozen roses from Walmart. Very beautiful, very small. I was going to get these for my aunt, but couldn't justify the $16 that they cost compared to the size. Such a ripoff.

Here's some of the lumber and siding for the new chicken coup!

My lemon sprouts continue to grow by the day!

Rainy Day Landscapes & Sunstars

The weather has been really nasty today. It was dark, rainy and very cold. Then, out of nowhere, it cleared up and the sun started shining. I love nothing more than when the sun shines right after raining, especially in the evening hours. Since I had my Tokina near by, I took it outside to try and capture some decent shots of the yard and the way the sun casted such beautiful shadows.

The execution wasn't as I expected, but they turned out nicely. I really should have edited them in Lightroom, but that's just too much work, lol.

Here are the pics from early today:

PS: Today is my little brothers 27th birthday! Like excuse me, it seems like he was just 12 last year. :(

This is the yard just before the sun popped out.

Our yard after the rain. I also managed a sunstar.

Smaller sunstar.

I couldn't up the aperture too much for the sunstar because it darkened the foreground too much.

The lighting was still beautiful. I love the Tokina lens.

This would've looked even better in the fall.

This is a great representation of how hilly and uneven our yard it.

Last landscape photo of the yard with a sunstar for the win!

Weekly iPhone Roundup {2.4 - 2.10}

It's been a rather slow week this week, nothing has really happened - other than me not feeling well. I've had a terrible tension headache and bout of anxiety, so you can imagine how fun that's been. I haven't even taken many pictures this week. None on my camera.

The Sims has slowly faded into the distance, which has left me trying to find something to entertain my mind. I turned to Little Nightmares 2 again, planning on beating it once more, but it's not as exciting the 3rd time around. Or second? Hmm... I'm not entirely sure. Either way, it's just not something I can get into. I also can't justify $70 for Hogwarts Legacy right now, maybe I'll wait until Black Friday and hopefully get it cheaper then.

I won't, however, want to wait until Fall for the Resident Evil 4 remake that comes out next months. RE4 has been one of my favorite games of the franchise since like 2005. I have so many good memories and feelings associated with that game, which is why I want the remake so badly. Not to mention, I got the remake on PS4, but the rendering in the graphics is murder on my eyes.

Anyways, I don't know why this turned into game talk, that my bad. Here are the pictures from the past week:

Sunsets in Perryville.

I'm so used to living in the country, horizons like these are hard to come by.

Minus the strip mall in the background, lol.

Saw this gorgeous vintage car parked at Buchheits Monday.

I had the color of this picture - my phone doesn't know how to process the different colors. All 6 of my lemon trees have began to sprout and grow!

Cloudy drive home Wednesday.

It was also very rainy.

The cuteness that is Little Nightmares 2.

And lastly, my uncle made the mistake of taking his passcode off his phone and leaving it in my vicinity. When that happens, he gets pictures of nearly nude, buff men. Personally I don't know why he didn't like it - I think it's quite nice to look at.
