Weekly iPhone Roundup - Loads Of Snow Photos! {12.17 - 12.23}

So I know I haven't blogged much this week, but with it being this close to the holidays I really don't have time. Not to mention, I don't really have anything to blog about. I'm blogging kind of late tonight, but that's only because we had to come to Perryville today to spend tonight and a smidge of tomorrow with our Perryville family. We have to grab a few things tomorrow before we head home. We have to cook a LOT tomorrow, plus open all our gifts.

We did run in Buchheit's today to grab a last minute gift for my aunt and THANKFULLY they had exactly what I was looking for! That's all for now, here are the pictures from this chaotic week - including the winter storm we had!

Perryville court house all decked out in Christmas lights last Saturday.

My orphan baby that I'm taking care of.

The lighting between the houses here hits just right.

This is a very unpopular isle in the store, yet it was horribly packed Monday.

Christmas wrapping madness Monday night.

The bald eagle we say Wednesday. My phone camera sucks when you have to zoom.

The beautiful sunset outside of Cherokee Pass.

First bit of snow yesterday around 1PM.

Here's the snowfall a little over 2 hours later.

This was around 3PM.

It was snowing like crazy and our security cameras picked it up SO well!

Especially the one on the outside of the gate, it was really awesome looking!

It was snowing heavily here.

The yard looked so pretty all covered in snow.

It's super hard to capture on my phone.

I had to brave the elements because there was a DVD chilling in the mailbox... literally.

It looked so much better in person, the woods were blurry with snow.

The car was completely covered... and freezing.

Ice and snow all over the car window.

Only 19 degrees at this point, but it got MUCH colder.

Visibility was very low.

But what I could see was beautiful.

View from our mailbox.

It was really coming down.

Snow covered country roads are the prettiest.

This part looks like a snowy path in the woods.

Believe it or not, people were actually driving on the highway.

Christmas lights and footprints.

The glow of the Christmas lights on the snow was so beautiful.

Much to our surprise - after it stopped snowing - the electricity went off from like 8-11pm last night. Did I also mention that it was like 5 degrees out? Thank God for kerosene heaters.

It was nice to have a bunch of battery operated Christmas lights everywhere.

And lanterns in the doorway.

And lanterns on the table.

And a lighted wreath.

This chunky little sugar glider (Theon) was terrified of the silence and darkness. I know gliders are nocturnal, but all of our gliders are used to a nightlight and get freaked out when it's not on.

It was legit 0 degrees on the drive over today. The wind chill was like -20.

Beautiful snow covered gravel road.

It was a snow covered highway too.

The people that own this house and lake had a beautiful frozen over lake to wake up to today.

All of C highway was this covered.

It made for some interesting driving.

And lastly, all the presents for our Perryville family in the backseat of the car - one of my favorite sights!

Sugar glider penis issues...

I know, not the most appealing title, but it's basically what we've been dealing with all day. LaVaughn and I heard distressed crabbing coming from Chloe and Boone's cage today, so we immediately checked it out. This was at 9 AM, mind you, we were both still sound asleep at this time. When we got there, LaVaughn saw that Chloe was chasing Norman around tugging on his penis. I kid you not, she was pulling and biting with all her might!

We got him out of the cage as quick as we could and put him in a cage by himself.

I've been consulting with people that have extensive knowledge in this department and as of right now, a vet isn't necessary. If he's showing no signs of improvement by tomorrow, then we're going to the vet. Until then we're applying Vetericyn and Vaseline to keep his penis moist until it retracts. We've also applied Preparation H once, which is all we can do in a day.

I'll be so glad when the swelling goes down and we can put this behind us.

In other news, it's cold as hell outside and there's still snow on the ground from Tuesday nights mini snow storm. Jeez Tuesday was a nightmare. I had to work 1-7, but I knew I wouldn't be able to stay my entire shift, so I got someone to cover 4-7 for me. I'm so glad I did too, because it started sleeting right after I left.

And of all days, I get this notification in the car -- more like a warning -- saying that the left rear tire was flat. When I looked it said that it had 11 pounds in it! I quickly went to the nearest station and put 29ish pounds in it. I had to pay $1 for air, which sucked. I also couldn't figure out how to administer the air into the tire until I let ALL of the air out of the tire causing it to go completely flat. Luckily I got it aired up before my time ran out.

It started sleeting and freezing rain while I was squatted outside trying to get the air compressor to work. I still had to go to the store for a couple things, get gas, and go by Redbox to return Uncharted. It was a nightmare day. The roads kept getting worse and worse, but luckily they cleared up the closer I got to home.

What takes me 30-35 minutes to get home took me an hour that day.

I sewed a 9 piece cage set Wednesday, then played the sims for a while. I started obsessing over Norman as soon as I got up today, then cut out 2 cage sets that I can hopefully sew up tomorrow. I've been worrying about Norman and playing the sims the rest of the evening. Very boring stuff.

We have to go to town tomorrow and get some KY if Norman has shown signs of improvement. If not we'll be going to the vet.

Well I guess that's all for now. Hopefully tomorrow I have much better news to share. Until then...

Love & Peace

-Megan
