Going out of business...

For those of you in the lower US states, you've probably been to, or at least heard about Hastings, the entertainment store. LaVaughn and I have been shopping at Hastings for over 15 years. No, we don't go all the time, but we've always had the options. I'm extremely sadden to announce that they're going out of business.

Naturally, when any company goes out of business, they have a big "Going out of business!" sale. Luckily for us, we've been able to take advantage of their sales a couple times now.

Aside from a few movies and some Sons of Anarchy pics that won't be pictured, we managed to grab the ONLY Game of Thrones Night's Watch pledge. This is what I've wanted for months, but there was NO way I was going to pay $25 for it. Since everything was 40% off, we got it for the semi-low price of $14 -- score!

Sugar glider cage set...

Just because I wanted to "check in", I thought I would share my newest cage set. :)

A day for every number...

It was such a lovely day today -- fantastic way to start off the first day of September! LaVaughn and I spent a lot of time outdoors today soaking up the sun. You just can't resist days when the temperature is in the upper 70s.

I don't know that I blogged about it, but a produce guy that sits up where I work ended up giving me a lot of free produce last month and the month before. Well he gave us loads of watermelons, one of which sat on the counter for weeks. We knew it had to be mushy inside, so we decided to give it to the chickens. Of course, LaVaughn with her theatrics had to throw it up and burst it on the ground. It made for a nice effect and scattered enough for all the chickens, so really we all win.

Of course, picture taking wouldn't be complete without a cat or two. I got some really adorable pictures of Clementine, but a couple of my love bug, Cersei, as well.

And last, but not least, I took some new pictures of Douglas today. He is just the cutest little thing! Super chubby too, but he's getting all of moms milk, so I didn't really expect anything less. Like always, this will be my last post for the rest of the weekend. Loooong labor day work weekend coming up.

Sugar Glider Cage Sets

The market for cage sets must be down as well because I'm not getting as much attention to my cage sets as I'm used to. I think it may be the fleece I'm using, or maybe it's because the sets are $55 and no one wants to pay that much at the moment. I think I need to order some more throws from Joann's and do the $40 sets for a while. Maybe that will appeal to more people.

Anyways, here's a set that I sewed today if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Here's the beautiful 8 piece fleece sugar glider cage set I made.

It's a beautiful (hot and humid) day in the neighborhood...

It was such an amazingly stunning day out today, if only the weather had cooperated. The sky, lighting, scenery and all of that we're aligned perfectly, but the heat and humidity were way off. I managed to hang around outside for close to 20 minutes to capture some images around the yard. Mainly of the cats, but I did squeeze some chickens in there as well. It was too hard to breath after that, so I quickly retreated inside.

I've been wanting to capture some images of Clementine, our new kitten, since she's started feeling better. I definitely don't want to have any regrets like I do with Hamilton. It's safe to say I took well over two dozen pictures of her today. Of course, I got some of Cersei as well -- can't leave one of the most gorgeous cats hanging in the wind. I don't know what it is about her, she's just stunning.

Back to Clems for a moment, those of you who know what Bart looked like will really see a resemblance in these pictures of her. It's uncanny. I could just be a crazy cat lady, but seeing how LaVaughn sees the resemblance more than I do, I kind of believe it.

I suppose that's all for now. I mainly wanted to share some pictures, considering I haven't done so in ages. Until next time...
