Bitter is the word, cold is how I feel...

The temperature today... wow! It's the first time in years that we've had temperatures below zero! Yes, I said it, BELOW zero! As soon as I step outside, my teeth start aching. That's probably because I'm chattering my teeth together and just don't notice because I'm numb everywhere.

You wanna know the sad part? I freaking LOVE this weather! I want to move up north and live in this type of weather 50% of the year. I know, I'm pathetic. Most people want to live on the beach -- which I wouldn't object to -- or live in California, but I prefer the cold, always have.

Okay, back to the snow talk!

With snow, as I'm sure you all know, comes snow birds! More particularly, Dark-Eyed Juncos. They were all over the place! And, of course, we had to feed them to get them to stick around. I wish I could have braved the cold a while longer and taken more outdoor pictures, but I couldn't.

Luckily, there's a gap at the top of my kitchen window that -- if I stand on a chair -- allows me to take fairly clear pictures. So that's how 90% of these photos were taken.

Well, there isn't really much else to discuss, so I suppose I'll leave it at that. Hope you enjoy all the lovely birdie pictures. Until next time...

Prepare for lots of Junco cuteness!

This is a very chubby Dark-Eyes Junco.

Probably my favorite Junco picture for the day.

A pretty female Cardinal hoarding a snack.

So cute!

Snow ripple from the horrendous wind!

Pretty, though.

Our old time dog house.

The sun looked so pretty cascading across the yard.

I'll huff... and I'll puff... and I'll...

Blow your trees down. Apparently the wind was strong enough last night to snap one of our trees in two. I was shocked when I walked over to the field today and saw it. We've had some seriously bad wind the past couple weeks and it isn't just during storms. It was awesome out today and the wind was crazy! Well, at least it didn't snap off and hit one of the horses that was in the field.

I suppose that's all for now. Sorry to bore you with my wind and tree talk...  :O)

Movie of the day: The Children

Here are the pics:

This was a pretty decent size tree that was blown down.

The tree was just snapped in half.

Around the yard and down the road...

I have a love/hate relationship with the wind today. I love it because it feels awesome and brings occasional good smells, but I hate it because there's almost NO possibility of getting a good photo. Anyway, I walked around the yard and up and down the road today, just trying to find something to take a picture of. I did manage to find a few, so that's cool. During this process, I had two extremely squirmy joeys in my bra that just wouldn't settle down. All in all, it was a pretty productive day.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Gotta go find something to do now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Song of the day: Running Down A Dream by Tom Petty

Here are some of my favorite pics from today:

An awesome blue flower.
.
This weed is seriously pretty.
.
I actually like how this one turned out, kind of nice.
.
I just love when I stumble upon a bug or two, it makes my day.
.
I didn't mean for my hand to be there, but the wind was insane.
.
Just a random weed.
.
I'm not sure if I like this picture or not. For some reason, I didn't want to delete it.
.
There's just no hope for this guy.
.
Boring, but kind of cool.
.
I tried SO hard to get a good picture of this dude, but again, the wind won.
.
These were just some random yellow flowers under some leaves down the road. Not the best picture, but kind cool.
.
These clovers were seriously so tiny.
.
As were these.
.
This is pretty neat looking.
.
I love the angle here.
.
And here, lol.
.
This one's not really centered, but oh well.
.
This is probably my favorite of these kind.
.
Some kind of berries. Nom, nom, nom!

Bonus Gallery:

We went to Walmart yesterday and found and amazing deal on an external hard drive. We found a 320 GB My Passport Essential for only $55! What! How awesome is that? It was marked down from $80, so it's actually a really awesome deal.

Aside from that, I had the joeys, Willa & Willard (who may have a home), in my shirt pocket and managed to get a couple good ones. Of course, as soon as I pulled the camera out, they started running all over, lol.

Our awesome new hard drive:

And now, the joeys:
