And we're off... to the store.

We're were out of pretty much everything, so we decided to go to the store yesterday. The main reason was for glider fruit and veggies, so that took up the majority of our trip. Like always, we headed to Fredericktown where the crazies just get crazier. Remember the BBQ under the funeral home? Yeah, that's Fredericktown for you. Unfortunately, we have to deal with the crazies if we want papayas or any other kind of good fruit.

After spending a couple hours at the store, we finally got what we needed and headed home. We didn't get home until nearly 9, so we fed the gliders as quick as possible, swallowed some food and then started playing with all our glider goodies!

We started cutting the fruit and veggies around 10PM - all the while listening to two of CCR's greatest hits CDs. By the time we were done, it was midnight! That's how long it took us to cut up everything, cook what needed to be cooked and start freezing into ice cubes. We till didn't get everything frozen, just just bowl of fruit. We have to start on the ton of veggies today. Yeah, fun! Oh well, at least the gliders will be happy.

In other news... did I mention that my aunt and uncle decided to go to Moundsville, WV yesterday? Well, they did! They're scoping everything out to see if it's a suitable move. I know I haven't given any details as to why or when said move may or may not take place. All in good time my friends, all in good time.

Here are the photos:

And yes, that would be a busted egg.

A beautiful butterfly. Not the best pictures, but at least it's pretty.

A baby cow that our neighbor's cow just had.

Isn't he/she cute!

Baby calves seriously have the cutest faces!

A little on the skinny side.

But oh so adorable.

Off to find mom.

Just look at all of that glorious food for the sugar gliders!

Yup, they only get the best (when the stores have it).

A huge thing of honey for some original HPW.

Just look at all of that delicious fruit!

Can't forget the veggies.

Some oats and almonds for some homemade granola!

Fresh pineapple slices.

Pineapple is my all time favorite fruit!

Glider grub!

And yes, that is homemade granola!

The downside... I like it more than the gliders - go figure.

And now for a video:

A little damage to start the month off...

When I woke up today, there wasn't anything going on outside. There was a thunderclap or two - loud enough to make the dogs run laps around the living room, but that was about it. Around 3:30ish, the thunder intensified and the rain soon followed. After a couple minutes, the wind started blowing and what sounded like hail was hitting the house. Naturally, I ran to the door in hopes of getting carried away by a tornado. Luckily, there was no tornado to be seen, but there was a massive storm taking place. The hail was only pea sized, but the wind was powerful enough to bend trees nearly in two. This went on for about 10 minutes straight.

After things calmed down, LaVaughn and I decided to go to town and stock up on soda and glider fruit, just in case we would be stuck at the house for a couple days. As I'm sure I've mentioned this before, we live down a gravel road. It's pretty much just us - only three other houses share the mile long stretch of gravel, so there's hardly any traffic.

We started off and got about 1/6 mile down the road and noticed that there was a tree broke off and covering half of the road. There wasn't enough room to squeeze by, so we knew we were going to have to break out a little muscle and move the tree ourselves if we still intended on going to town. So that's what we did. It was a big bitch too, so it took us about 10 minutes to get it out of the way. We thought we were good to go, so we started off again. We drove probably 100 yards and found even more limbs and branches covering the road. So again, we got out and cleared the way. After that, we drove nearly all the way to the end where there was a massive branch covering the bridge that we have to cross. It was almost like it was put there as some kind of test. By this time, we were both sweaty, muddy and pissed so we ran at the limb like a couple of bulls on steroids and shoved it out of the way. It was by far the heaviest, so we will definitely feel it tomorrow.

On out way home, there was a guy and a woman clearing what we left with a chainsaw. I so badly wanted to roll the window down and shout, "Yup, did most of the work for you about 2 hours ago." I'm sure I had something better to say at the time, but you get the point.

Well, that concludes the slightly eventful day. Hope you enjoyed...

Song of the day Who'll Stop The Rain by CCR

Here are the pictures of the damage:

 Rain on the window.

 Raindrops are so beautiful.

This was actually an entire tree broke off in the road.

This was on the other side of the road. The tree was just split in two.

 Just some limbs and branches.

 More limbs and branches.

That's all that we could move.

Despite it's look - that limb was actually crazy heavy.

 This one, not so much.

This was probably the biggest thing we had to move. You may not be able to tell, but this branch was covering and entire bridge!

And now for a couple pictures of the cats during the storm:

He looks nice ans sweet here, but I'm actually holding him down to get this picture.

Una is always a sweetie.

BBQ Daze...

I woke up today with an unexpected invitation to a BBQ at my aunts house. I actually didn't even intend on staying as long as I did, but it was a good time. It's been forever and a day since I've gone to and/or had a BBQ, but it is nearly summer, so I guess I'm going to have to get back into the swing of things. And believe me,  I would way rather spend my days outdoors with a nice, refreshing beverage and opposed to a hospital.

Okay, well I've rambled on into nothingness for no apparent reason, so I guess it's time to bid you adieu. Until next time...

Song of the day: Wrote A Song For Everyone by CCR

Here are the pics:

 The grill

 The drink - B & J Exotic Berry.

The other drink - Busch. Not my cup of tea, I'm a Stout fan. ;)

 In his own little world...

... with a beer clenched in his fist.

The BBQ meat. I believe these were the pork steaks.

 Love the smoky BBQ.

And yes, these were the BBQ pork steaks.

He looks like he wants to murder someone.

Check out the color difference in our drinks.

My favorite auntie in the world.

 Lazy dogs.

 Gotta love the simple life.

Look at the flame on the BBQ grill.

Well, I guess it's a BBQ flame on the meat.

Lastly - and my personal favorite - BBQ'd hot dogs.

 A smoldering fire.

Well, there's still a couple flames.

 I love smoke and fire.

Some might call me a piro. :)
