2016 Holiday Rewind...

We kicked off the holiday season Thursday by making all kinds of holiday sweets. We made sugar cookies, Oreo balls, fudge and then some. I had to work Friday, so not much took place then. We did gift swap at work -- really it was just LaVaughn and I giving Shawna her gifts, but still.

Since we had two people bail on the Christmas festivities this year, it was just me, LaVaughn, my aunt and uncle. Talk about a small gathering, but it was most definitely a merry one.

We spent the first half of Christmas Eve drinking coffee and making food for the following day. We then watched Rudolph -- yes, the ancient one that scares me more than the scariest of horror movies. My aunt loves it and she loves frosty too, but luckily we only had to endure Rudolph. Sorry auntie, I love you. It was so painful to watch, I'm not even joking. I had such a hard time composing myself while we watched, but I was good and made it through the entire movie without cracking up.

After that was over, so began to open presents. Everyone had a great time and (hopefully) got everything they wanted. I know I did -- some of my favorite gifts were a Jessica Simpson bag, Bobs by Sketchers and my new Deadpool jacket. It was a blessed Christmas Eve to say the least.

Christmas Day my aunt, uncle and LaVaughn all went to church. This was my first Sunday off in months, so I stayed home. I still got up right at 11, but it's whatever. LaVaughn went to bed as soon as they got home, so I helped my aunt make Christmas dinner. LaVaughn and I didn't eat until after communion that night, so it was a late Christmas dinner for us.

I honestly can't believe I'm blogging this late, but we have a busy week coming up. We're meeting up with Doug and Kyan tomorrow in Festus so they can ship our girls Wednesday, then Tuesday we have to drive my aunt and uncle to Farmington so she can see her lawyer, then we're all going to AT&T to hopefully (fingers crossed) get new phones. Then Wednesday we're supposed to meet up with Angie and her kids for dinner in Ironton. Looks like Thursday is my only free day this week, because I'm back to work after that. Sigh... I'm already exhausted just thinking of all of that.

I hope you all had very Merry Christmas! Until next time...

Last minute trip to the mall...

My uncle was supposed to be home in time today to take my aunt to her doctor in Cape. Well, he ended up having to go to Kentucky for work and couldn't make it home, so LaVaughn and I took her instead. It worked out, her appointment wasn't until 3 and wee needed to go to Bath & Body Works to pick up a couple small gifts for people.

Of course, we ventured all around the mall before we left. I kept getting air pressure warnings in the rear left tire, so after we left the mall we had to run to the shop. Since we have nitrogen air on our tires, we can only put nitrogen air in our tires that can only be done at Plaza Tire. It sucks... We got the air, though, and it didn't take long.

We were off to the pet store after that to grab some of Zoe and Una's favorite foods. We stopped by the shoe store next door for a few minutes where I found some ADORABLE handbags. They were only $50 -- most were 30% off and I believe they were buy on get one, not sure. I left empty handed, though. I will be back, that you can count on.

We hopped over to the market for some last minute grocery shopping before it was time to go pick my aunt up from the store. All in all, not a bad day. Long, but not bad.

Pimp my ride...

So, I had the pleasure of photographing my uncle's new Kenworth Legacy Sleeper yesterday. This truck is MASSIVE and absolutely gorgeous! He's worked so, so hard for this and deserves it more than anyone I know. No one has faith in him and even his so called "friends" have shitty things to say about him and his "tin can" (referring to is Freightliner that he used to drive). People piss me off, which is an everyday thing, but I take it personal when people make jabs towards people I care about.

You mess with them, you mess with me. I'm so thankful I'm not friends with the people that poke fun at him. I'm the type of person that cannot bite their tongue about anything, so it's easy for me to speak my mind. I made some underlying comments on my Facebook post. Not pointing fingers, not naming names, but if said people saw the post, I know they had to know why I said what I did. I'm fine with that.

So anyways, I don't want to rant anymore, I want to share the happiness and excitement that is my uncle's GORGEOUS, well deserved truck. Enjoy!
