Trying to get past it...

It's so incredibly sad at our house right now. It's been a week since Leo died and 2 days since Jasper had to be put down, it sucks. It's just been a bla weekend -- which is leading up to a bla week in general. It sucks, we've had so much rotten luck with our animals lately, it's unfair.

In other news, LaVaughn saved a tiny little mouse from Max a little while ago. This is a TINY mouse, like microscopic. He's slightly under the "hopper" stage, so he's not very old at all. We're going to keep him until he's a little bit bigger and then set him free. As of right now, we're calling him Bpo Bpo, which means "a kiss" in Korean.

So yeah, there's that. I'm not even remotely in the mood to blog, so that's all.

Yeah, we so bought some classics a couple weeks ago. They arrived today.

And now for pictures of Bpo Bpo and his temporary home:

Farewell little man...

I'm very saddened to announce that Titus passed away yesterday. I really don't understand why, he was eating semi-well and going to the bathroom regularly. He had lost some weight, that was easy to see, but not a dramatic amount. We tried our best, that's all I keep telling myself.

I thought about him on my drive home from work last night. I know I'm pathetic, but I can't help it.

I'm really hoping we don't find anymore abandoned mice anytime soon. Especially considering the failure rate is 70%... yikes! I don't want to hand raise ANYthing, like ever! Not saying that I couldn't do it, but I just don't have the emotional strength. It kills me to see any type of animal suffer and I get so easily attached.

I sewed and entire cage set (by myself) today that wasn't already specially ordered. It's made from left over fleece -- a pre-made. I don't remember the last time we made a pre-made cage set... it's been nearly a year! I'm hoping that this one sells. When it (hopefully) sells, I'll sew up another and try to sell it as well. Christmas is just around the corner and we could use as much extra money as we can get.

I guess that's all for now. Until next time...

Here's the set I made. Not too shabby, eh?

My Saturday night...

It's very, very rare that I have Saturday's off -- I actually can't remember the last time I had a Saturday off -- so I'm taking full advantage of this. I'm going to try and clean as much as I can, even though I just cleaned Thursday (rat cage, drop trays, vacuumed), but a house can never be too clean, right? I need to vacuum the glider room terribly and change out all the cage sets.

I'm hoping to accomplish that and a few other things as well, like laundry and dishes, but that shouldn't be too complicated.

After LaVaughn and I feed the cats, dog, gliders, baby mouse, and shut the chickens up, movie night is in full swing! I'm talking non-stop moving watching, dinner in front of the TV type of day.

Since we've watched the new episode of American Horror Story: Freakshow -- which was awesome beyond words -- and missed the first episode of Supernatural, we're probably going to start out with it, because I definitely don't want to get behind on Supernatural episodes. The world as we know it may very well come to an end!

As far as movies go, I FINALLY found a copy of 7500, which is first up on our movie lineup. It's about a supernatural force on an airplane. Hopefully it's as good as the previews look. Next up will be Deliver Us From Evil, which we've both been DYING to see! Can't wait for that! Then we have The Purge: Anarchy and See No Evil 2... who know, right? After all, I haven't seen one scrap of a preview for that movie.

So there you have it, those 3 (hopefully) awesome movies! I hope we're able to watch -- and enjoy -- them all before the night is over.

Of course, we'll be taking care of Titus (our little mouse) in between takes. He's doing pretty good, I don't want to say great because he still isn't eating willingly. LaVaughn is able to stimulate him better than me, I can only seem to get him to pee on occasion, whereas she can get him to poop like crazy (knock wood). I just hope the little guy makes it... it'll break my heart if he doesn't.

Speaking of baby things, I'm pretty sure we're going to be down 3 joeys next weekend. Petra, Avery, and Harper are all eating well enough on their own to go to their new mama's, especially Petra. I think we're going to meet up with Cindy and she's just going to deliver everyone for us, cause she's so incredibly nice... I love her. I guess we'll see how things go this coming week.

So, we finally got Laci's cage sets and pouches done. I don't think it's ever taken us so long to get something finished and out the door. We paid for shipping, 2 day shipping so she should get them Tuesday. I STILL can't believe we were able to smash them in a large flat rate box! When we were in the process, I didn't think they would fit. I'll post a picture below to show you just how much went into that box. Now I just hope the mail lady takes it! She's normally pretty good at that.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. If I want to accomplish everything I've set out to accomplish, I need to start now. Until next time...

We were able to smash all of this...

Into this...

Yes, we're awesome.

The little mouse that could...

LaVaughn and I were down by the chicken coop a little while ago feeding everyone, when out of nowhere, Toby attacks a stack of tin sitting next to the fence. I was oblivious to the entire thing -- mainly because I was admiring the ducks -- but LaVaughn was on top of it.

What Toby found was a tiny little mouse, less than a week old. LaVaughn picked it up and held it while we began to move the scrap tin around in hopes of finding more, or maybe his mom. It was to no avail, so we put the little guy back and waited. It was probably 3 hours that we waiting and there was still no adult mouse to bee seen. So I grabbed the little guy up and brought him home.

We tried to feed him some booster milk that we have here, but he wasn't taking it. Plus, it's far too grainy for a mouse of his size. That when we decided to go get some soy baby formula from town. We needed to grocery shop anyways, so it worked out.

As of right now, he's eaten very little, but he has pooped and peed, which is good! We're going to try feeding him every few hours and hope that he take to the syringe and gets the hang of things. I read that can take over 24 hours before they start eating. But think, they're being feed by some foreign object AND the stuff they're eating probably tastes like crap compared to what they're used to. Only time will tell.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. It's time to go check on the little mousy and see if he'll eat...

Adorable nursing kittens:

Is it not the cutest thing to see kittens nursing?

The beautiful, beautiful ducks:

And lastly, our baby deer mouse:

Hello little joey!

Before you get too excited, Kira and Logan's joey isn't OOP just yet, but we're close!! The little darling was hanging out enough to let me see the sex. And can you guess what it is?? A girl!! Kira has definitely made up for all those boys that she had in a row. This will be her 4th girl this year!

Okay, I guess that's all for now - time for some joey love!

Here are the photos:

 Look at that joey butt!

Daddy's ear got in the way here.

Oh I can't wait to hold you!

Look at how big our deer mice are getting!

Super cute!

Meet the glider fams... with a couple mice on the side.

It's amazing how cute sugar glider families can be. When our girls have joeys, the pouches are always full of glider cuteness. I managed to capture some of that cuteness last night while I was in the glider room. Everyone was all snug and warm in their all fleece pouches. If cuteness could kill, this whole house would be dead, lol.

Aside from that... Una caught ANOTHER baby mouse!! We're a little short on temporary rodent cages, so we had to put the little guy in with our other mouse that she caught a couple weeks ago. We knew we were taking a risk by doing so, but they got along like they had known each other for years! I actually recorded a couple videos of their meeting, but haven't uploaded them yet, sorry.

I suppose that's all for now. Don't forget to check out the glorious photos below...

Here they are:

Just look at that cute little sugar glider family!

Soak it up, because this is probably one of the cutest things you'll ever see.

And here's out other, much lighter family.

And yes, they are just as cute!

Here's our tiny little deer mouse.

He/She is probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

LaVaughn trying to give them a yoggie.

I think our old mouse loves our new one.

She was alone for far too long.

Time for a bath!
