The little mouse that could...

LaVaughn and I were down by the chicken coop a little while ago feeding everyone, when out of nowhere, Toby attacks a stack of tin sitting next to the fence. I was oblivious to the entire thing -- mainly because I was admiring the ducks -- but LaVaughn was on top of it.

What Toby found was a tiny little mouse, less than a week old. LaVaughn picked it up and held it while we began to move the scrap tin around in hopes of finding more, or maybe his mom. It was to no avail, so we put the little guy back and waited. It was probably 3 hours that we waiting and there was still no adult mouse to bee seen. So I grabbed the little guy up and brought him home.

We tried to feed him some booster milk that we have here, but he wasn't taking it. Plus, it's far too grainy for a mouse of his size. That when we decided to go get some soy baby formula from town. We needed to grocery shop anyways, so it worked out.

As of right now, he's eaten very little, but he has pooped and peed, which is good! We're going to try feeding him every few hours and hope that he take to the syringe and gets the hang of things. I read that can take over 24 hours before they start eating. But think, they're being feed by some foreign object AND the stuff they're eating probably tastes like crap compared to what they're used to. Only time will tell.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. It's time to go check on the little mousy and see if he'll eat...

Love & Peace
