Joey pictures from the 14th...

Yeah, I know, I'm slacking TERRIBLY in the blogging department, but with everything that's been going on lately, I just don't even care. I'm literally inches away from throwing in the towel completely. I just don't have time for this anymore and when I do have time, I'm like "meh". I just hate giving up on something I've done for SO long.

Anyways, here are some joey pictures from the 14th, enjoy!

The 3 hour juice cleanse...

Ever heard of the 3 hour juice cleanse? That probably because there's no such thing. A couple weeks ago LaVaughn looked into a 7 day cleanse -- 2 day of only juice... Yikes! Well she talked my aunt into doing it with her, so my aunt bought loads of fruits and veggies today to kick-start their cleanse. My aunt only had one small cup of coffee this morning (you're not supposed to have any!) and two classes of juice.

LaVaughn gave her the rundown of what she could have with dinner, which was baked salmon and either brussels sprouts or broccoli. That's it, nothing more, nothing less. By the time LaVaughn and I woke up, we opted out of our "morning" coffee and instead had a juice blend of oranges, bananas, strawberries, and pomegranate. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well it wasn't, it tasted like crap.

This was at nearly 3.

We both showered and headed to town shortly after for LaVaughn's 5:30 nail salon appointment. We got there at 5ish and they took her in around 5:20. The lady didn't get finished with her for over an hour! That's really the only bad thing I can say, though, she did an awesome job! LaVaughn's nails look amazing!

By the time we left, we were craving limeades and Chinese food -- neither of which we could have. We stopped by Walmart for a minute, then headed to the grocery store to grab some more things for our cleanse. It was there that we decided to opt out of this foolishness and instead of doing the cleanse, just adding juice drinks to our every day diet. It's nearly impossible to do anything healthy in our town. You try finding Swiss chard and kale in a town with a population of less than 1500.

We ended our journey by stopping at Sonic and getting a limeade. Since my poor aunt had to suffer through her day, we decided to pass on Chinese and go home to salmon, which is what we just devoured. Alone with a salad and cottage cheese.

For those of you that have the willpower to juice and go on these week long cleanses, my hat is off to you. For those that are weak and crave nothing more than the salted sweets that are heavily carbed, come join the force, cause we're a force to be reckoned with.

Love & Peace

The good and the bad parts of life...

Isn't it amazing how well things can be going one minute, then you turn around and it can be complete shit? I constantly battle with the highs and lows of life. I have to say, lately things have been high, but as of yesterday, things have taken a turn for the worse.

I'll start by talking about my cousin. My aunt broke the news to me yesterday that she's going to be having a triple bypass surgery this Friday. Her dad has a bad heart, so we figured she just inherited it from him. Come to find out, her heart is too far gone and surgery isn't possible. Now she's going to be sent to STL to see a heart specialist and be put on the transplant list. It's unreal -- I honestly don't even believe it. She's only 35, too damn young to have this happen to her. And aside from her being diabetic, she's relatively healthy.

One of her doctors in TN think she may have been born with a bad heart, who knows.

Now time to move onto my mom. I'm sure I've echoed this a million times, my grandma raised me my entire life, so she's my mom. Well my mom got into trouble -- not going into details -- about 10 years ago and got put on probation. Well she ended up moving and didn't tell her PO and she got arrested yesterday. My aunt is going to Perryville tomorrow to spend the night with my bio-mom so that she can go to the hearing Friday. I know she's not going to get out. Everyone, including LaVaughn and myself, have put in money for her bail. Surprisingly, so have a couple other people.

I feel sick about all of this, especially since Thanksgiving is next week, not to mention we just ordered her some gifts and those will be here in the next couple days. It's going to be terrible.

Now I need to try and focus on something for the next couple days, like sewing. Have I mentioned that I've sewn every day for the past week? I didn't sew yesterday, that's because I had to work. I've officially sewn and sold ALL of our old fleece!! I'm super excited about that. Even more excited by the fact that all of our Joann fleece arrived yesterday and our fleece from Gini arrived today. I'm going to be a sewing and cutting fool for the next few days -- hopefully that will keep my mind distracted.

We also got our mealworms that I ordered yesterday. I ended up feeding the gliders at least 10 worms each -- except for Tyler, Declan, Neal and Cas, they only wanted yoggies and maybe like two worms. Half of the worms in this order were dead, so I need to power feed everyone for the next couple days.

I met Angie at work yesterday before I went in to pick up LaVaughn's birthday thing that she made her. This was before the terrible storms that we had, before everything flooded (including our road) and before the electricity went off in the store, twice! Anyways, it's really cute, Angie is so creative! LaVaughn and I went to town a little while ago and picked out a couple things for her, I think she'll like them. They're supposed to come down Saturday, we shall see.

I didn't do much else today, aside from sew and take some pictures -- even of Norman! I guess I'll leave it at that. Hopefully there's no more bad news after today.

Love & Peace
