Random updates to keep you entertained...

I would like to start with some actual GOOD news -- Pip is doing SO much better! The swelling on his nose has practically vanished and the swelling on his cheek is at a minimum, Looks like the antibiotics are doing the trick (knock wood), so he shouldn't have to go back to the vet anytime soon.

This is glider related, so I'll go ahead and share. The 1000 mealworms that I ordered earlier this week came with a few bonus worms. So not only did we get mealworms, but we got dermestid beetles as well. Yeah, no thanks. Definitely the last time I'll be ordering from them. Insert cringe face here...

As most of you know, the season 2 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead is on tonight. I'm finding it hard to reach the same level of excitement excitement as I do with The Walking Dead. I know that's probably never going to happen, but I DO want to watch it, so I'm not going to talk myself out of it. Although, Dying Light does sound rather appealing at the moment.

In other news, LaVaughn and I have really gotten into "survival" mode lately and starting rotating everything in our bug out bags, or 3-day survival kits, whatever you want to call them. We just ordered some more stuff from First Aid Product last night (food bars, water, portable stove, tube tent, etc). We should have it by the end of the week and, of course, I'll post about it. Should be exciting! It's only a matter of time before we'll be ordering more.

This coming week seems to be rather boring, so there's a good chance this will be my last blog for a few days. I have lots of stuff to sew and cut out, so that's going to occupy the majority of my time. So, until next time...

Love & Peace

Hmm... would could that be!

A sack of worms, maybe?

Pip picture update:

Doesn't he look SO much better?? Wait, did I post a before picture here? I think that was on my Instagram account.

Zoe giving me the stank eye while I was eating dinner.

She's such a begger.

Bug damn she's cute!

Oh so lonesome for you...

My aunt went to Perryville today to stay the night with Ty for my mom's hearing in the morning. It's lonely down here in our neck of the woods because of that. I didn't even get a chance to sew today, which is weird -- I've been sewing every single day for a week it seems. I am getting ready to cut some stuff out, so that works.

I made up 3 batches of HPW a little while ago, that should last every bit of 2 weeks. It's amazing how much of that we go through anymore, but we are feeding 20 gliders now, so it's understandable. I'd still like to try the GOHPW once. The next time we go to Fredericktown I'm getting some and I'm going to try it. Well, the gliders will.

Did I mention in my last blog that we rescued a lizard? Well if I didn't, now you know. We released the little guy earlier today while the cats were eating. He was super happy to be free -- I don't believe he hesitated once! He was so cute, makes me want a pet lizard...

Well I guess that's all for now. I really want to start cutting out some cage sets, so I guess I'll call it a day. Until next time...

The good and the bad parts of life...

Isn't it amazing how well things can be going one minute, then you turn around and it can be complete shit? I constantly battle with the highs and lows of life. I have to say, lately things have been high, but as of yesterday, things have taken a turn for the worse.

I'll start by talking about my cousin. My aunt broke the news to me yesterday that she's going to be having a triple bypass surgery this Friday. Her dad has a bad heart, so we figured she just inherited it from him. Come to find out, her heart is too far gone and surgery isn't possible. Now she's going to be sent to STL to see a heart specialist and be put on the transplant list. It's unreal -- I honestly don't even believe it. She's only 35, too damn young to have this happen to her. And aside from her being diabetic, she's relatively healthy.

One of her doctors in TN think she may have been born with a bad heart, who knows.

Now time to move onto my mom. I'm sure I've echoed this a million times, my grandma raised me my entire life, so she's my mom. Well my mom got into trouble -- not going into details -- about 10 years ago and got put on probation. Well she ended up moving and didn't tell her PO and she got arrested yesterday. My aunt is going to Perryville tomorrow to spend the night with my bio-mom so that she can go to the hearing Friday. I know she's not going to get out. Everyone, including LaVaughn and myself, have put in money for her bail. Surprisingly, so have a couple other people.

I feel sick about all of this, especially since Thanksgiving is next week, not to mention we just ordered her some gifts and those will be here in the next couple days. It's going to be terrible.

Now I need to try and focus on something for the next couple days, like sewing. Have I mentioned that I've sewn every day for the past week? I didn't sew yesterday, that's because I had to work. I've officially sewn and sold ALL of our old fleece!! I'm super excited about that. Even more excited by the fact that all of our Joann fleece arrived yesterday and our fleece from Gini arrived today. I'm going to be a sewing and cutting fool for the next few days -- hopefully that will keep my mind distracted.

We also got our mealworms that I ordered yesterday. I ended up feeding the gliders at least 10 worms each -- except for Tyler, Declan, Neal and Cas, they only wanted yoggies and maybe like two worms. Half of the worms in this order were dead, so I need to power feed everyone for the next couple days.

I met Angie at work yesterday before I went in to pick up LaVaughn's birthday thing that she made her. This was before the terrible storms that we had, before everything flooded (including our road) and before the electricity went off in the store, twice! Anyways, it's really cute, Angie is so creative! LaVaughn and I went to town a little while ago and picked out a couple things for her, I think she'll like them. They're supposed to come down Saturday, we shall see.

I didn't do much else today, aside from sew and take some pictures -- even of Norman! I guess I'll leave it at that. Hopefully there's no more bad news after today.

Love & Peace
