Weekly iPhone Roundup {3.4 - 3.10}

This has been a very, very eventful week. From adding new additions to receiving long awaited items - even a surgery mixed in the middle of it all. Monday night was the most eventful of all, but that's only due to the fact that my uncle got home from the hospital after having knee surgery early Monday morning. We had to help a lot after his surgery, but Monday was just surreal.

He was highly overstimulated and couldn't sleep because he was non-stop worrying about how to lay his leg/knee, so he was just freaking out non-stop. Needless to say vodka came in to play to help settle our nerves, lol. He's doing miles better now and decided to sleep in the recliner instead of the bed, which helped him get to sleep.

Aside from that excitement, we also added 7 new additions to the flock. There were SO many different breeds at Buchheits, I couldn't hardly contain myself. I ended up leaving with 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes. I missed out on the Silver Wyandottes last week, so I was stoked when they had them this week. The only downside... they only had 3 left and there was no way I could leave just one behind. It sucks cause I've been trying to keep it to two of each breed, but it is what it is.

We also got our new stove delivered this week. Our old one when kaput last week, so it was time to get a new one. First thing that went south was the main burner, then the oven stopped working. Yay. Luckily we were able to get one from Hefners, which they delivered yesterday.

I think that's all I'm going to write about. The rest will be told through the pictures and the caption I add.

All the baby ducks at Buchheits.

Me running out with my new additions.

Here are the little beauties! Three Silver Laced Wyandottes, two Rhode Island Reds and Two Buff Orpingtons!

I love them so much.

Late night McDonald's Americano order.

I took my moms dog, Layla, with me.

She's a very bug-eyed little chihuahua. And authentic one, my step dad says. She was over-stimulated to say the least, but it was probably because she knew she was gonna get a treat.

The line of traffic was INSANE Saturday night.

Here's my full moon night photography setup.

Love my remote shutter as well.

All my little lemon trees got some actual UV light for the first time this week.

They loved it.

I don't normally post pictures of the house, but I cleaned like crazy Thursday before the furniture people came.

It was just so organized and clean.

I had to share.

Here's a picture of my uncle that my aunt sent me after his knee replacement.

They put this weird wound suction thing on his leg that is normally only used for amputees. We all thought this was kinda strange.

Some packages we have been anxiously wanting for a long, long time.

My Chapin water bottle that I used to water my seedlings. This was an amazing gift from my aunt.

Night photography with an iPhone.

Not the best in a large scale, but very impressive.

You need a smidge of lighting to make it not so grainy.

My little lemon beauties.

All the chicks fast asleep while we cleaned their bedding.

All fresh and clean!

I'm now growing green onions that I've ingested.

Putting in the new stove.

I long for the days that we had a screen door.

This is one of the two dudes, super nice.

Beautiful blossoming tree at my bank in Piedmont.

The loading dock at the feed store in town. Had to get some more chick starter.

Taking my boy for a walk.

Country roads, take me home...

Full Moon State Of Mind

The moon was so bright last night. With it being 100% illumination, it's pretty obvious as to why. I love full moons on clear nights, especially in the wintertime. The sky always looks so much more crisp and clear. It's really too bad the Milky Way isn't visible in the winter months, it would make for some amazing photos.

Last night was the perfect opportunity for me to test out my new tripod on my telephoto lens. I can usually get hand held shots of the moon, but only with a high ISO. I prefer a slower shutter speeds when taking pictures of the sky, but shooting with a shutter of around 400 and an ISO around 1200 works just as well.

Of course, I took a couple dozen photos, but narrowed it down to just 4 clear shots. I also cropped them all as my tele only going to 300mm. Hope you enjoy!

PS... My uncles knee surgery was today and everything went great!

Here's the gorgeous full moon on March 5th, 2023.

I need a longer telephoto.

I should just get a mount for my telescope - way cheaper.

That stupid logo of mine is all over the place. I forgot that I cropped these pictures, so the resolution is different in each one. Classy.

Any occasion I'll be ready...

Last night sucked terribly, words can't even begin to describe. I know I haven't spoken much about our elderly rat, Emilie, that's because it's just been too hard. And part of me just doesn't want to face the fact that her time is almost up. We've had Emilie for almost 2 and half years, Thetes an extreme emotional bond between us. After all, she's The only one left out of our original 4 girls.

It's hard to believe that by the end of the month we will have lost all four of them in the same year.

Like I said, Emilie is old and can't get around well anymore. She stopped eating hard foods a few weeks ago and has been strictly on soft baby foods. She's missing quite a bit of hair anymore and has nose bleeds on occasion, which I was told was normal for a rat in her situation. Seeing that kind of stuff just makes it harder on us, but I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is for her to endure. I wish that by some miracle she would just have a complete turn around and be her old self again.

I held her for the longest time in a fleece bonding pouch last night, I only put her up when I had to take a shower. I tried holding her again and rubbing her, but that really seem to aggravate her so I set her back in her cage inside the pouch. Emilie has never been a super social rat, she's never been one to like to be held all the time, so I imagine during times like that she really does want to be alone.

Now I'm going to change the subject before I start crying again, which I really don't want to do anymore.

LaVaughn and I kept the ducklings inside for so long last night. We brought them in around 7 PM and didn't put them back out in their cage until after 10. We played Injustice the entire time, which is why I think the time went by so quickly. We fed them three separate batches of mealworms and they even slept for around 30 minutes. I think it's safe to say they had a fun night.

So yeah, there's that. I'm honestly not even in the mood anymore. Until next time...

Love & Peace

Here are some pictures of the creepy sky from early, early this morning:

And the house... just playing with the settings:

Well it's all right, riding around in the breeze...

I really wish I was riding around in the breeze at the moment. There's an element in my house at the moment that I am not comfortable with. Ever have day like that? Days where you feel unwelcome, unwanted, out of place. It's days like these that I wish my grandma was still alive -- I never felt unwanted there. As otherworldly as it sounds, I'm actually looking forward to work tomorrow.

LaVaughn and I have kind of gone order happy the past week or so. Wednesday, when we got our rusted Gringott's coins, we also got 3 new Maybelline Color Show nail polishes. We won them on Ebay for a dollar and ended up paying just over 3 to have them all shipped. The 3 pack came with Carbon Frost, Blast of Blue, and Bare Escape. They're all awesome.

Yesterday we got our Wombaroo powder, cause we were literally completely out. We get bee pollen way cheaper on Ebay, so we ended up ordering that there. It's scheduled for delivery today. We also received our computer cord in the mail yesterday. We had to order yet another one! I contacted the people we bout our last one from (only 3 months ago) and told them that it wasn't working. Since we were past their return policy, they couldn't refund in full, but they did refund $4, which was fine with me -- that was half the cost.

What I'm getting ready to talk about now is probably the most exciting thing that we've order since we got all of our new cages last year. WE ORDERED A CRITTER NATION CAGE FOR THE RATTIES!! I'm just so speechless, or elated would be a better word. I cannot wait to get it!! We're planing on make them loads of awesome stuff to go in it, which I can't wait for. It's been so long since they've had a new cage.

I posted on a glider Facebook group last night asking around about the best place to get a Critter Nation cage, which ended up helping a lot! Someone suggest Ferret.com where they had Critter Nation cages on sale. Can you believe that we got the cage for $120 shipped!? Because I can't! now we just have (impatiently) on it to arrive.

I can't believe it's so early still and I'm already nearly done with this blog. I think I need to go take pictures of something, like the joeys. I should really take pictures of the adults, I didn't do that Wed. when we trimmed everyone's nails. I think I have a mission for the evening.

Until then, "happy" Friday the 13th!

Love & Peace
