The girl who kicked the thrift store...

Normally I would be at work right now, but I had a bit of a ((blowout)) and was unable to go. Take that as you will, I don't plan on going into details about it.

I had to get up a bit earlier today so that I could drive my aunt into Piedmont so that she could pick her truck up at the shop. I fee so bad for her, she had to pay nearly $1000 for repairs -- which weren't THAT bad! That's the way it goes when you live in a small town. They know you'll pay it, cause they're the only ones that can fix it.

After we dropped her off at the shop, we ran to the store to get some supplies for little Jasper. We needed some cotton swabs, saline nose drops, and a few other things that a required for hand raising a sick kitty. We're hoping that we can mask the symptoms of his URI until we can get him to the vet.

Speaking of, we managed to catch another kitten today! This one is a great weight, but definitely needs her eyes cleaned and some TLC.

On our way home -- since it was just after noon -- we decided to swing by the St. Catherine's thrift store. My aunt stops by there all the time and always gushes about the good sales they have. Mainly in the book department, but in others as well.

We couldn't have stopped by at a better time, because they were having a 5 of $1 sale on their books!! Close to 20 minutes and $3.50 later, we left with 17 books in our greedy hands. Just a preview: The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest, Scarlet, Angels and Demons, and then some! Killer finds!

Our uncle stopped by later in the afternoon -- right in the middle of us cleaning -- to look through some old pictures, in hopes of finding a particular one. He's the husband of my late aunt Eva, the one who passed away at the end of last year. Unfortunately, he didn't find the picture he was looking for, but I'm going to keep my eye out for it.

After he left, we continued our cleaning/reorganizing of the glider/spare room. We completely moved things around in there and now have ALL of the cages on one wall! It's so nice! It seems less cluttered and like we have so much more room. I'm not sure why, but it makes the room look taller as well, which is never a bad thing.

My body aches from moving everything around. We also had to carry our 6th and first HQ cage all the way across the yard to clean in. It wasn't being used, so it was being stored. It's nice and clean and completely inhabited.

All our awesome books.

My uncle's dog, Chico. Believe it or not, he's 15!!

My uncle.

Enjoying some outside adventures.

Check out our awesome row of cages!

They look so much better now.

Now we just need to swap out cage sets!

Queen of light took her bow, then she turned to go...

We finally finished the cage sets today... finally! I didn't think they were ever going to get done! We've been trying to get everything finished, considering we have one order that needs to be finished tomorrow or the next day, then two orders that need to be done once we receive the fabric. I'm also talking to a lady that's wanting to order a custom cage set with loads of items.

Not to mention Taylor's stuff that she brought to us at the beginning of December! Her stuff is being done for free, so it's not like it has to be done ASAP, but I would still like to get it done sooner, rather than later.

We just have to get on the ball.

Random subject, but I so desperately want to get the garage remodeled. I'm just so looking forward to a new glider room that's bigger -- well, maybe not bigger -- and something that's their own. It will make it so much easier for glider people to come out and see it. Especially if we get to add on what we're wanting to add on. Then, if we're able to do a mini-kitchen in the garage, we can just leave all the glider supplies out there. It'll just be awesome (I hope).

I just wish the cold weather would cease for a little wile so that we could start moving stuff out.

I would also like to add that LaVaughn and I are planing on going to the Battle of Pilot Knob remake in September of this year. They reenact it every year, but they put on a full reenactment every 3 years. And 2014 just so happens to be the 150th anniversary of the epic Civil War battle. It's a weekend long festival, so I'm most definitely going to have to take off work to be able to go. I honestly don't think I would want to work that weekend to begin with. I can't imagine how busy we would be!

LaVaughn and I are also considering staying at the Fort Davidson hotel for the night while we're there. Then we can just get a jump start on all the festivities without having to get up early to make it there on time. Now we just have to hope that nothing comes up between now and then.

As you can tell, I'm painfully bored at the moment and continue to ramble about things are wont be taking place more months and months! Oh well, better than talking about boring shit. But... I believe I'm going to leave it at that. It's time to feed the crew, I think I can hear them barking. Until next time...

Love & Peace

Some random pictures of Una sitting on me early this morning:

Such a dreary day...

And lastly, the finished product!

New beginnings...

You remember how I said I would post another blog yesterday evening if we managed to cut and/or sew? Well long story short, it didn't happen. We even had intentions of cutting out cage sets around 10:00 last night, but didn't even manage to do that. We're terrible, procrastinating people.

Today, however, was a completely different story. Not only did we manage to cut out 7 piece cage sets, but we also managed to cut out some extra pouches! Not for us, unfortunately, they're for someone else. Now all we have to do tomorrow is muster up the gallantry (did I use that right?) to get them done.

Cutting out cage sets wasn't the only thing I managed to accomplish... I also managed to take pictures of Taylor's boys, Pax and Xander. They're so damn adorable. Seriously, Taylor doesn't know how lucky she is. If these boys were going to anyone else, they would probably just stay here. Now we just have to tell Chloe and Boone to produce female duplicates of these two.

Speaking of, Chloe and Boone should have babies IP within the next few day! O.o

LaVaughn and I are starting a 'Renovate the garage!' fund. We're hoarding as much money back as possible for it. We're going to redo EVERYthing! The room in the back of the garage will become our new glider room with access through the current glider room. We're also going to add a small bathroom out there, as well as a living room and possibly a small kitchen. We're mainly focusing on the glider room, the bathroom, and the living room.

SO much has to be done, it's insane. We have to start by getting an electrician to come out and rewire everything, then, more than likely, but in a 220 breaker box. That's the main thing. After that, we're going to redo the ceiling, then start worrying about the pluming.

We're not sure if we want to run pipes from the water heater in the house, or just buy an entirely separate water heater for the garage. So much has to be thought about an planned. Hopefully by this time next year, it'll all be done! We have some massively awesome ideas for the glider room, I just hope we're able to work everything in! :O)

Obviously, I have nothing better to talk about -- hence why I brought up the garage renovation. I suppose I needed to bring that up anyways. And on that note, I'm out! Until next time...
