Monday, Monday...

So, today was the big day that we got to meet up with Doug and Kyan in Festus. Only downside is it was only I that got to see them. We got there 30 minutes early and, like clockwork, they were running behind. We spent 30 minutes or so walking around Joann's and admiring their amazing sale on no sew fleece throw -- 50% off!

If you're wondering, yes, we took advantage and spent more money than I care to admit.

Since we still had 45 minutes to spare before the boys arrived, we decided to head over to Walmart and do some shopping. We needed a few household items and some groceries, so we thought we could get that done before they even arrived. Well, since all the Christmas items were 50% off, that ended up occupying around 30 minutes of our time. It was no time before I got a message from Kyan telling me that they were at Joann's, waiting.

Since we had a cart full of stuff and weren't even in the market side, LaVaughn decided to stay with the cart and I would run over and meet the boys to deliver the girls. Not sure if you read my previous blog, but that's what today's meeting was all about -- Kyan is shipping two gliders for us Wednesday.

Anyways, I jetted over to Joann's, met up with the boys, walked around in there for 15 minutes while Kyan picked out fleece, went outside and talked for another 10 minutes, then sat in the back of their car and talked for an additional 30 minutes. I knew LaVaughn was probably steaming by then, so I quickly wrapped up our meeting and went back to the store.

It sucked to only get to see them for an hour -- I miss them so, so much. I'm hoping and praying Doug does get every Monday off soon. I have most Mondays off, so that would be a perfect day to meet up.

We quickly wrapped things up at Walmart and came home, which is where we are now. I'm exhausted and barely had the energy to feed the gliders, let alone myself. Now I need to rest and watch some Netflix, because we'll be back at it again tomorrow...

Instagram Roundup...

Since things have been kind of slow around here lately, I thought I would share some pictures from my Instagram feed. I've really slacked off on my picture taking via my Nikon, but I take pictures daily on my phone and share the majority of them on Instagram. Well, not the majority, only a fraction make it on my feed.

Anyways, these are the random pictures from the past week or so that aren't pertaining to any of my blog posts...

My "office" all decked out.

Not really worth noting, but we got all 4 seasons of Bates Motel for $28 - such a steal!

Max, the monster.

This is what it looks like at closing time.

Miss Zoe.

Late night recap...

Yeah, I know I wasn't planing on blogging until next week, but I know something will come up and I'll be a week or two behind again. So, since I figured out how to embed pictures from Instagram, I thought I would do just that. So, here we go--

A "how to" guide to short stories...

A guy contacted me in Instagram around a month ago and asked me to join his Walking Dead Facebook page. Since I'm obsessed with TWD, I happily agreed to do it. I even bought some comics from a guy in the group within a week of joining - so worth it.

Well they held a little contest that would allow for 10 winners. All 10 prizes were donated by the members in the groups, most were custom toys, bags, signed pictures by walkers on the show and so on. The rules were simple; create a short (zombie) story using no less than 300 words. They posted this on a Sunday, with a 1 week time limit. Stupid me, I didn't get my story finished until the following Sunday with 19 hours left in the competition.

Most of the stories that were submitted were hardly short stories at all. I'd say 7 out of 10 were all one messy, bulky paragraph without proper punctuation. Surprisingly enough, these were the stories that got the most likes. Lucky for me I had just enough likes to tie in 10th place with 3 other people. It came down to guessing a number and whoever was closest won. I don't know how, but I guessed just under 50 shy of the actual number and won.

Everyone had already picked all the good prizes, so all that was left was a custom mini made by someone in the group. I welcomed my winnings with open arms, considering I barely entered in the competition long enough to win anything. Had I submitted sooner, I think my likes would have been slightly higher.

In other news, our fleece came today. It's all so gorgeous -- I'm starting to covet it already! If only. We still didn't get two different yards, only because they were out of stock, bastards. I'm ordering more tonight so that I'll have something to pair with the ones that matched the ones that didn't arrive. Lets hope they all arrive in one piece.

I guess that's all for now. Until next time...

Love & Peace

Tis' the season to be busy...

I hardly know what day of the week it is right now, let alone put aside time for blogging. As much as I hate to say it, I'm going to have to take a mid-holiday break from expressing my feelings through written words. I love blogging, I love it so much, but sometimes it's extremely overwhelming -- especially when I have a million things to do and worry about.

The Christmas week will soon be approaching, whether we like it or not. Part of me is so ready for it, part of me isn't, and then there's part of me that wishes is was already in the past. Between having to worry about my moms court appearance this Friday, long work days this week, countless cage sets to be sewn, having a house and glider room to clean, my aunt and uncles thing at church this coming Sunday (same day as my birthday), getting my license renewed BEFORE the 20th, and a million other things, there is just NO TIME!

In my free time I honestly don't want to be on the computer, I want to be planning things, cutting fleece, sewing, reading my Walking Dead comics. taking pictures -- which I hardly do anymore, what's up with that?! It's time for a break. This will probably be my last post until after Christmas, which is going to such and make me sad. I don't like getting behind on my blogs, but I also hate blogging about nothing, or SEWING! Dear Gods, there are only so many things to be said about sewing and cage sets. You've seen one, you've seen them all.

I will leave you with the latest happenings around the house. One of the most exciting things is pertaining to our gliders -- Ellie and Oliver were mating Saturday! How exciting! Not what we originally planned on doing, letting them mate, I mean, but it happened so they're officially a couple now.

With that being said, we're thinking about re-homing Agnes. We don't have a spare cage for her and her dad is still intact, so that's really our only option. We're also thinking about letting Evie live with Doug and Kyan. She's a monster, to be honest. She barks constantly and doesn't like us at all, so it makes sense.

I know I haven't really mentioned this much, if at all, but I'm up to 500 followers on my Instagram page! Super exciting, something I didn't expect at all! Most people have like 2500 followers or more with their glider pages -- not sure if those are paid followers or now, who knows. I'm slowly making my way to 1000, hopefully I'll be there sooner than later.

I also applied for a Paypal debit card, for which I got approved. Excited about that as well.

Not super exciting updates, but it's something. I'm honestly not sure what else to say, so I guess I'll leave it at that... for now. ;) Until next time...

Happy Holidays!

Ginny's eyes are just gorgeous -- I'd like to add that she'll be separated from them within the next couple weeks. :(

Love the lake..

Speaking of Instagram, I hit 500 followers on my Sugar Exotics page!!

My own personal hell...

I know I've bitched and complained about this before, but sometimes work it SO rough! Especially when you work 9 hours shifts back to back. Saturday wasn't so bad, I was in grill all day -- literally all day, I loved it. I knew I would end up in the hole -- which is the back window where you order take, cash out, make tea, and do dishes -- for at least part of the day Sunday, and boy was I right!

See, you get shifted around all day, or you're supposed to. Like when I came in at 1, the board was already set up and had people in their places. Lo and behold, I was in the hole. This didn't really discourage me, considering I would rather be there from 1-4, as opposed to 4-7/8. I wont go into to gory details.

Well 4:30 rolls around and I get sent on my break. Someone was supposed to go back there from 4-7 and I would be someplace else. Apparently the person that was supposed to take my place had to leave and hour early. Wanna guess who got stuck back there? Yup, it was me! I figured I would just be back there until 7, maybe a little later. NO! I was back there my ENTIRE shift! I was about ready to stab someone. There's seriously only so much you can take of that stop -- it'll drive you mad!

Things have been so weird lately. I don't even know how to explain it, but it has been. The car was in the shop all of last week. The strut shock was broke, the plate that held it was split in half, the rim had to be fixed before the new tires could be put on, AND it had to be lined up! It was suck a stressful week. I had such a bad case of cabin fever, but that's what happens when you're stuck at home. Oh well, if you can't go anywhere, you can't spend money.

This blog, like the last one I posted, will have no pictures. My blogs don't feel complete unless I have at least 20 pictures to share. The truth is, I haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately. I grab the camera on occasion, but it's a very rare one, which makes me sad.

I've been taking SO many pictures on my phone, it's insane. I've become slightly obsessed with Instagram and find myself posting there daily. If anyone wants to follow and would like a follow back, hit me up here -- Instagram.com/thegirls2012.

Speaking of phones! I'm hoping, if all goes well, that LaVaughn and I will be upgrading to an iPhone 5! I know, we're so modern. We both have iPhone 4's right now, but that's because they were free... go figure. Since the release of the iPhone 6, the older phones are being sold for basically free. I'm hoping that when we renew our contract, we'll be upgraded again -- for free! One can hope, anyways.

Okay, well I suppose that's all for now. Until next time...

Love & Peace
