I'm not ready, not yet...

I was going to start blogging again Tuesday night, or yesterday, but after the trip to the vet Tuesday, I've decided to postpone again.

Una's checkup went well, she looked good and got a steroid shot for her allergies. Zoe looked good overall, but she has a mammary mass that has to be taken off next Tuesday. Mammary masses are not a good sign and they're cancerous 86% of the time. I'm hoping and praying that it's nothing, as is everyone else, but we're also preparing ourselves for the worst.

The vet said it could be nothing, which I'm holding out for. LaVaughn is hopeful and optimistic, as is my aunt. I'm having a hard time with this and just don't feel like myself. I had a nice talk with my aunt earlier and what she said really helped cheer me up.

If something happens to Zoe I'll go off the deep end and like never return. I know this sounds silly to some, but Zoe has been a BIG part of my life for almost 14 years now. I don't plan on blogging anymore until after Zoe's surgery, but it'll likely be after the results come back from the lab as to what the thing is on her tummy.

All I ask is that you keep her in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever it is that you do. We could use anything right now...

Mournful Hiatus...

I had a couple draft posts from last week, but I'm never going to get around to them. I may update on what's happened lately, but not anytime soon. We've had a rough couple weeks, lost too much. The most recent being our precious boy, Bart. I'm not going to be able to write about him anytime soon, so I'm taking a big break from my blog. It's just too painful right now.

Blogging should be fun, not stressful and sad, tedious or a duty. I'm taking time to reflect and gather myself. If by some miracle I have the strength to blog, I will.

Until then...

RIP My Precious, Bart

You will live on in my heart for the rest of my life. Until we meet again...

Tis' the season to be busy...

I hardly know what day of the week it is right now, let alone put aside time for blogging. As much as I hate to say it, I'm going to have to take a mid-holiday break from expressing my feelings through written words. I love blogging, I love it so much, but sometimes it's extremely overwhelming -- especially when I have a million things to do and worry about.

The Christmas week will soon be approaching, whether we like it or not. Part of me is so ready for it, part of me isn't, and then there's part of me that wishes is was already in the past. Between having to worry about my moms court appearance this Friday, long work days this week, countless cage sets to be sewn, having a house and glider room to clean, my aunt and uncles thing at church this coming Sunday (same day as my birthday), getting my license renewed BEFORE the 20th, and a million other things, there is just NO TIME!

In my free time I honestly don't want to be on the computer, I want to be planning things, cutting fleece, sewing, reading my Walking Dead comics. taking pictures -- which I hardly do anymore, what's up with that?! It's time for a break. This will probably be my last post until after Christmas, which is going to such and make me sad. I don't like getting behind on my blogs, but I also hate blogging about nothing, or SEWING! Dear Gods, there are only so many things to be said about sewing and cage sets. You've seen one, you've seen them all.

I will leave you with the latest happenings around the house. One of the most exciting things is pertaining to our gliders -- Ellie and Oliver were mating Saturday! How exciting! Not what we originally planned on doing, letting them mate, I mean, but it happened so they're officially a couple now.

With that being said, we're thinking about re-homing Agnes. We don't have a spare cage for her and her dad is still intact, so that's really our only option. We're also thinking about letting Evie live with Doug and Kyan. She's a monster, to be honest. She barks constantly and doesn't like us at all, so it makes sense.

I know I haven't really mentioned this much, if at all, but I'm up to 500 followers on my Instagram page! Super exciting, something I didn't expect at all! Most people have like 2500 followers or more with their glider pages -- not sure if those are paid followers or now, who knows. I'm slowly making my way to 1000, hopefully I'll be there sooner than later.

I also applied for a Paypal debit card, for which I got approved. Excited about that as well.

Not super exciting updates, but it's something. I'm honestly not sure what else to say, so I guess I'll leave it at that... for now. ;) Until next time...

Happy Holidays!

-Megan

Pictures from Saturday:

Ginny's eyes are just gorgeous -- I'd like to add that she'll be separated from them within the next couple weeks. :(

Oliver and Ellie in the act.

Chloe is such a chub.

Norman looks like a little mouse here.

So many white faces in this cage.

We made another no-bake eclair cake. Yum!

Possible hiatus...

My aunt is getting released from the hospital today -- yay! She only had to stay 4 days, which was 4 days too long, but the drain in her back just kept draining, which was the main factor that played into her release.

Her release is what lead me to my potential hiatus. She's going to need a lot of help for the next couple weeks. She wont be able to take care of her three dogs, shower alone, cook dinner, clean, or do basically anything except lie down and sit. That's where we come in. Not to mention, I'm going to be returning to work Tuesday. That on top of everything else isn't going to leave any spare time. So, like I said, it mat be a while before my next blog.

I'm saying this now, but knowing me it'll make me blog MORE!

I got out the old picture bag last night and took a trip down memory lane. These are pictures that were taken before my digital camera days -- I'm talking pictures anywhere from 2000ish to 2004. Yeah, old! I mainly wanted to go through and find some old pictures of Zoe, which I did -- she used to be so skinny!

I did come across a picture of my cousin, Brandy, the one that passed away a few days ago. That was bittersweet, almost made me stop working altogether. Then I stopped and realized, maybe I was meant to see the picture, so I smiled and kept going.

Today is been another rainy, hot, and muggy day. I really wish it would either turn into summer or revert back to spring - I'm sick of the in between. I honestly can't really think of anything else that I would like to say, so I guess I'll leave it at that. I need to get started on my nightly chores anyways.  Until next time...

Love & Peace

Of course, Milla observed me the entire time I looked through old pictures:

Ready for a stroll down memory lane?

This is Zoe and Princess (our very first inside cat!).

As you can see, they were super close.

The best of friends.

Notice how skinny Zoe used to be?

She was just under a year in these, though.

Can you believe these were from Feb. 2003? That's 12 years ago!!

This is another cat of ours that passed away. Her name was Lizzy and she was a polydactyly.

This is another girl we used to have, Chloe.

More Princess and Zoe.

They were inseparable -- I really miss this.

The end is drawing nigh...

I hate to say it, but I believe my blogging days are coming to an end. I find myself stressing over not being able to blog as much as I'd like, which kind of defeats the purpose to begin with, considering blogging is supposed to be my soothing "me" time.

I used to adore blogging and would have certain times sets specifically for blogging. I also practiced a lot of piano then and even managed time for that as well. I haven't played piano in god knows how long, so I'm amazed that I'm still blogging as much.

After my mom got out of the hospital, I took a 2 week hiatus that I'm having a hard time coming back from. There for a while I didn't even take any pictures and when I did, it was forced. I'm having a hard time finding words that will even compose a decent paragraph worth reading.

It just seems that there's SO much to do anymore. Between working, caring for the gliders, rats, cats (which we're overran with due to people dumping them off), cleaning almost daily, trying to get cage set orders done, and just having a little me time -- it leaves no time for nothing else. I feel like I'm just trying to make excuses, but it's the truth. Maybe after things settle down a bit, which could be a week from now, I'll just say screw it and start my usually blogging again.

Until then, though, there are several pictures I would like to share that I took today. Mainly it's of a bunch of kittens that Toby's demon sister had. But OMG, they're the cutest little things!! Just wait until you see the pictures, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Love & Peace
