It's in the air...

So the last few days of been crazy busy! Between taking care of my aunt, taking care of our animals, our selves, grocery shopping, WORK, and other things, I've barely had time to breathe! Things are starting to hit their groove, so everything hasn't been as stressful as it was -- couldn't more more thankful for that!

My aunt is do extremely well (knock wood). She's walking excellently, even without her walker. She's gotten up the past two mornings without any help, super shocking. My uncle has been here to help, but he had to leave yesterday -- chalk that up to one of the creepiest days to date!

I believe I've mentioned he's an OTR driver, so his departs vary from day to day. This week he had to leave at 6:30! Yuck! We're usually in bed no later than 5 AM, but since my aunt is unable to drive at the moment, we were his lift to his truck. Which means we had to surpass our 5 o'clock bedtime and stay up until nearly 7! I woke him up at 5:30, had his coffee made, his things were packed and we were good to go. Of course things didn't go according to my plan -- he ended up talking and drinking coffee until after 6.

It was close to 7 when we got home. We rushed through brushing our teeth and hit the bed! I was a stress bomb just waiting to go off, but that was mainly due to the fact that I had to work that same day, so of course I was stressed. Luckily it didn't take me long to sleep and I was up just after noon and ready to get back to work. Long story short -- absolutely nothing has changed, it's still drama filled and full of children.

In other news, I think I have pink eye (conjunctivitis). My right eye has been red, irritated, and itchy since Monday! It got way worse last night, but has mellowed out some today -- not much. I'm alternating Visine and sugar water in hopes of clearing it up. Only time will tell.

Mother's Day also took place Sunday. We normally take the mothers our for dinner, but my mom was out of town and my aunt couldn't go out to dinner -- for obvious reasons, so we just stayed home and gave out gifts and cards. I know, boring!

Monday evening LaVaughn and I decided to cut up and freeze a few days worth of food for the gliders. We knew we would be crazy busy this week, so it would help in the long run -- and it has! I still can't believe we lucked out and found the food dishes that we use for the gliders. Our local market usually never has them, so we bought every single one they had Sunday.

I honestly can't think of anything else that's happened lately. I really haven't had time to anything special. Until next time -- whenever that may be...

Love & Peace

And Today

This was a messed up spider on the burn barrel.z

This goes out to all the mother's out there...

Since my actual mother lives hours away, all I could do was tell her Happy Mother's Day in one of the most trending ways... on Facebook. I tagged her in a post and messaged her, but never heard anything back. I intend on calling her later in hopes of reaching her.

Since my aunt -- who is like a mother to me -- lives just a jump and a skip away, my sister and I decided to treat her. We got her a card, a beautiful rose, took her out to dinner, and out for dessert. It was so nice to finally do something nice to her, because her compassion, love, and kindness knows no boundaries when it comes to us. I wish we could have taken her into the bigger city for dinner, but our local restaurant sufficed.

Unfortunately, all the pictures I took of her are on my phone. I have a love/hate relationship with taking pictures on that phone. I love the ease and convenience, but getting them on the computer when I need them is a bitch.

Well, I hope all the mama's out there had a spectacular Mother's Day! Until next year, ladies...

Now for the random pictures from yesterday until today:

Kira, as you can tell, was totally ecstatic over her nail trim.

I can't believe how dark she's gotten over the years.

Chubby little Seamus.

He's so pretty.

And has such a snub nose.

Pretty boy!!

Zoe's feet. I love how they're stacked on top of each other.

A beautiful rose.

This was our rose to auntie Sharon.

This is seriously like the perfect peach colored rose.

The sunset from our drive down BB.

Here's another African sunset! Although I'm sure it would be much more beautiful there.

This is spooky, dark red shot of the sun. All of this by only messing with the exposure.

And lastly, a jet.

Happy Mama's Day!

Yeah I know, creepy title. Putting "Happy Mother's Day" just seemed too, I don't know... typical. Anyway, just want to give a shout out to all the mamas out there, new and old. Especially to my aunt Sharon (practically my mom), my actual mom (Judy, all the way in South Dakota), and I suppose my biological mother, Ty. Even though you never call me, dick head!

LaVaughn and I were going to take aunt Sharon out to eat today, but of course, she had to drive all the way to Fredericktown to pick up her hubby. We like seriously never go out to eat, ever! So her having to leave sucked. I mean, are we not meant to eat out?

Okay, enough about mother's day! I have something far more exciting to talk about... baby turkeys!! Yes, we finally added turkeys to the flock! We had to drive all the way to Glen Allen to get them, but their adorable little faces make it worth the drive. We got two Blue Slate and one Black Spanish. They're adorable!

Now Mr. Friendly will finally have a couple friends. Hopefully he'll have "girl"friends, but a boy will be just as good I suppose. Unless they fight of course, then they'll have to go bye-bye.

While we're on the subject of chickens and things, I'll go ahead and give a little update on our baby chick with the bad leg and foot. Well, so far not so good. Her leg doesn't seem to be making much improvement, neither does her foot. It's only been a few days, maybe it takes a week or so. :P

You remember me saying I had to work Saturday because they were so busy? Well, they weren't that busy! There was like no one there when I got there and the busiest they got was around 6ish and there were only like 5 or 6 people there. I honestly don't get why they needed me. I mean, they were short a couple people, but nothing like I was thinking.

Alrighty, I suppose that's all for now...
