What's been going on...

So, lots has taken place over the last 10 days since I've blogged. I've had some time to blog, but I'm keeping my mind pre-occupied with other things lately, things I actually enjoy more than writing. So, let me start with the most exciting news (to me).

We found a kitten. I know, I know, we do NOT need more cats, nor do we want more, but some jerk dropped a kitten off (maybe more) next to our mailbox. We were driving home I want to say Thursday before last and there she was. LaVaughn got out of the car and chased her down, then we brought her down to the house.

She's young, probably no older than 3 months and was super skinny. She had some eye irritation going on and started sneezing quite a bit over the weekend, so I called Monday and made her vet appointment for Thursday. Her check-up went good, aside from being a tad on the sickly side, but Heather said she really didn't even look that bad. Her lungs sounded good, so she was almost certain she had a viral infection which resulted in a URI. She's on 10 (I think) days of Clavamox now.

LaVaughn and I both swear up and down that she's Bart's kitten. She looks identical to him, even when he was a kitten. I would almost put money on the fact that she's one of his babies, which warms my heart. I miss Bart so much and think of him often. Even more now, but it doesn't make me as sad as my memories of him. We've decided to name her Clementine, which fits her so well.

Cersei isn't too keen on the idea of having another kitten around, but she does seem to be warming up to her. Too bad Clementine wants absolutely nothing to do with poor Cersei.

Crappy picture, but isn't she cute??

I've actually (slowly) started getting back into sewing lately. I sewed not one, but TWO cage sets last week! It was so much fun and such a warm welcome back into the world of vending when my cage set sold literally two minutes after I posted it. She even bought another, but has yet to pay for it. I cut out a set today that I'll hopefully get around to sewing tomorrow.

Sewing and coffee go hand in hand.

This is the second set I did. It's one of my all time favorites.

In gaming news -- not sure if you know this or not, but Resident Evil 5 was released at the end of June. JUNE!! Do you realize how long we could have been playing this game?? It's only one of the best RE co-op games out there. As soon as I found out, I ordered it. Resident Evil 4 comes out at the end of this month. I'm dying...

Day before yesterday I had to drive my aunt to The Laser Spine Institute in Saint Louis. Boy what a day! The drive was effortless, but the waiting, that was the hardest part. I think LaVaughn and I sat out in the waiting area for over 3 hours! We watched what seemed like dozens of episodes of Like It or List is (not sure if that's the name) while we waiting on her to come out.

They had a dining area with free food -- mainly some creepy chips, chopped salad, half sandwiches and several different beverages (mainly hot teas and coffee). I got a coffee at one point, but had to throw it away due to its raunchiness. We left with a couple things of apple juice which we had yesterday.

My aunt got all of her day one testing done and thankfully she didn't have to go back until today to do the rest. Now all we can do is hope that they'll be able to help her out with a VERY minimal surgery.

Since we were in the neighborhood, we asked Christina if she would meet us and pick up the boys that had to be shipped. Since I haven't really talked about the gliders any, I'm referring to Nanook and Gendry. They'll be shipped to Florida and Maryland this Friday to meet their new mommies. #nervous

I guess that about sums up the past couple weeks. I live a very boring life, so not much can be expected in the way of thrills and excitement when I blog. Hopefully it's enough to keep you interested. Until next time...

Sugar glider appreciation day (with a little Resident Evil on the side)...

Some days are just more glider filled than others. Not a day goes by that we don't fondle, kiss and squeeze our gliders, but some days it's worse than that - like today. We had everyone out in bonding pouches (because we have 4 now, remember?) and was stuffing their faces with treats. I often tell LaVaughn that life for a sugar glider must be so hard. Not only to they get carried around in the coziest of fleece pouches, but they get hand fed treats. Nope, not spoiled at all.

In gaming news... we've been playing Resident Evil 6 like mad men lately! That game is AWESOME! I do have a crow to pick with Capcom, though - that game is no where near 2 1/2 times longer than Resident Evil 5. We played and beat all 3 scenarios in under 23 hours! That's pretty close to how long it takes us to beat RE5. That's a matter of opinion and gaming skill I suppose. Anyway, the game is still really awesome and totally worth the play.

Here are the photos:

 Pretty little Odin.

This face reminds me of his mama.

Then he looks just like his dad.

Is he not the cutest sugar glider joey ever??

 Sadie and Pip.

 Kira and Logan.

 Emma and Eliza.

 Violet and Chloe.

Violet being a nosy little Sadie, lol.

 Violet is Chloe's protector.

Maybe that's the other way around? :)

Aren't they pretty little girls? :)

Violet is such a gorgeous girl. I love her! <3 p="p">

Yes, I am the crazy pouch lady, lol.

Sheer randomness...

I couldn't really think of anything exciting to post about today, so I figured I would just throw a bunch of random crap together and see how that works.

We watched Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark the other day. The previews were presented well, but I didn't figure the movie would be good at all! Well, I was proven wrong. The movie was actually pretty well composed. The "monsters" in the movie could've been a little different, but they were okay. And I have to say, I didn't mind Katie Holmes either. I'm SO not a fan of her, but I don't think I've watched one of her films since Disturbing behavior. Anyway, definitely check it out if you can.

In gaming news... and no, I'm not talking about Dead Island, I'm talking about Resident Evil 5. We got in this massive kick a few months ago and played it ALL the time. We beat it on Amateur once and Normal twice, then we started playing on Veteran, but didn't finish because we were so burnt out on it. Anyway, we played a bit yesterday and fell in love again. We actually just beat it on Veteran not an hour ago. I'm still stoked about it. And since we beat it on Veteran, we opened up a new level... Professional.

Well, I figured I would have more to talk about, but I don't. So... I suppose that's all she wrote for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Love & Peace

You can‘t judge a movie without a rating…

Well, well, well. Three days in a row. That has to be a new record fro me. But I couldn’t go a day longer without telling you this… I haven’t been rating the movies! Why oh why have I done such a thing? I should be punished. Well, I guess I’ll start here.

Last month I told all of you that we got to see The Last House on the Left. And again, it was a truly great movie. So much better than the original. You can hardly tell it’s a remake. Other than the fact that most of the names are the same. Anyway, I think I would give it a 8.5/10. That seems suitable. It was really so awesome. So if it’s still playing in a theater near you, then I suggest you see it ASAP.

Before I get into all the movies that we’ve bought at Hastings recently. I must tell you about Resident Evil 5. As usual, we got it the day it came out. But we didn’t play it a whole lot that day. And I’m sure that most of you know that it’s a co-op game like the ever grateful Left 4 Dead. This game informs you about a lot of history on the Resident Evil game series. But for people like us, we already knew. Cause we’ve followed RE ever since The Mansion. But anyway. The game play resembles that of RE 4. Only a lot more color and lighting changes hit you in 5. Not that it’s a bad thing though. I guess Capcom wanted a more realistic feel. The game centers around a small town in Africa where you (Chris Redfield) meet your partner (Sheva Alomar) that sticks with you throughout the entire game. Together the two of you face loads and loads of new enemies. The game play is pretty realistic. It kept me entertained. But it is no easy task. Whenever we first played we were lost. It’s a little hard to get used to the new keys. Unless you played RE 4 up until the day you got RE 5. But it gets easier, I promise. We only played for like 30 minutes the first day. Then like 3 or 4 days later we played a lot more. And then we played every night up until the very end. So if you’ve never played this before and are planning on getting it, then prepare yourself. I suggest you grab a friend cause it is super hard on your own. But I think you will like it in the long run. Especially if you love zombie games as much as we do. So I think I’m going to give RE 5 a 7.5/10.

Ok, now I’m going to start with Feast 3. I know I didn’t mention this one in my earlier blogs, but I have to review it. It’s just way too cool to skip. We always knew that there was going to be a part 3. We just didn’t realize it would be so soon. Until one day we were browsing around on amazon.com and noticed it at the bottom of the page. We were like flipping out. So we ordered it. And then a couple days after that I was looking at our credit card transactions and noticed that there was way too much that had been charged. So I went back to amazon.com and looked at our order forum and noticed that somehow we had ordered two copies of Feast 3. I contacted the seller and told him about the problem. But he was like, “It’s already been shipped.” and that was pretty much it. But anyway. The movies starts exactly where the second one left off. Which I think is just awesome. And somehow the majority of the cast is still alive. Who you ask? Well that’s for you to find out. So please, got to the video store and rent it. Or buy it, either way. But I must warn you, it’s out there. Way out there.. But I like that about it. I would have to give it at least a 8.5/10. And I also noticed that in our earlier blog I gave Feast a 9/10 and Feast 2 a 8/10. Well I wanna change that a little. I wanna give Feast a 8.5/10 and Feast 2 a 9/10. Sorry for the mess up.

Now for the rest of the movies. I don’t really know if I want to rate all of them. Just a few of my faves. Like Funny Games. That movie was the s***. It has Michael Pitt (Bully, Last Days), Naomi Watts (The Ring, King Kong), and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction). I’m not going to go into all the details or anything. But do recommend this movie. It was so good. We first watched it on HBO but later got it at Hastings. It is so awesome. I would have to give it at least an 8/10. Ok, now for The Day The Earth Stood Still. This movie was pretty good overall. I mean come on, it has Keanu Reeves in it. How bad can it be. I can’t really compare it to the old one considering I’ve never seen it. But I will in the future. After all, we did get ti free with the new one. So if you’re into sci-fi and all that good stuff. Then this is the movie for you. I think I’m going to give it a 7/10. Hmm, what next? Ok, how about Otis. This movie was so good. One of the best I’ve seen in a while actually. It looks like it would be cheaply made, but oh no. It has Illeana Douglas (Goodfellas, Stir of Echoes), Daniel Stern (Home Alone, City Slickers), and Kevin Pollak (The Whole Nine Yards, Hostage). A pretty good lineup if you ask me. It’s mostly about a guy that kidnaps girls and keeps then in his basement. He tries to re-live his high school years by dressing them up like cheerleaders and dressing himself up as a football player. It a really good comedy/thriller. I think anyone with a since of humor would like it. I’m going to give it a 8/10. And last but not least, the original Last House on the Left. It was pretty good. I love movies that were filmed in the 70s. They just look classy. But it has nothing on the remake. But it is nice to have. So I’m sure that most of you have seen this cult classic. But if not, then you should pick yourself up a copy. Cause it’ll be nice to have when the new one comes out. I guess I would give it a 6.5/10.

Well folks, thanks again for reading. I’ll rate more when we get new movies. So I’ll probably be blogging tomorrow as well, lol. So peace out you groovy hipsters. Keep rockin hard until next time.
