What's been going on...

So, lots has taken place over the last 10 days since I've blogged. I've had some time to blog, but I'm keeping my mind pre-occupied with other things lately, things I actually enjoy more than writing. So, let me start with the most exciting news (to me).

We found a kitten. I know, I know, we do NOT need more cats, nor do we want more, but some jerk dropped a kitten off (maybe more) next to our mailbox. We were driving home I want to say Thursday before last and there she was. LaVaughn got out of the car and chased her down, then we brought her down to the house.

She's young, probably no older than 3 months and was super skinny. She had some eye irritation going on and started sneezing quite a bit over the weekend, so I called Monday and made her vet appointment for Thursday. Her check-up went good, aside from being a tad on the sickly side, but Heather said she really didn't even look that bad. Her lungs sounded good, so she was almost certain she had a viral infection which resulted in a URI. She's on 10 (I think) days of Clavamox now.

LaVaughn and I both swear up and down that she's Bart's kitten. She looks identical to him, even when he was a kitten. I would almost put money on the fact that she's one of his babies, which warms my heart. I miss Bart so much and think of him often. Even more now, but it doesn't make me as sad as my memories of him. We've decided to name her Clementine, which fits her so well.

Cersei isn't too keen on the idea of having another kitten around, but she does seem to be warming up to her. Too bad Clementine wants absolutely nothing to do with poor Cersei.

Crappy picture, but isn't she cute??

I've actually (slowly) started getting back into sewing lately. I sewed not one, but TWO cage sets last week! It was so much fun and such a warm welcome back into the world of vending when my cage set sold literally two minutes after I posted it. She even bought another, but has yet to pay for it. I cut out a set today that I'll hopefully get around to sewing tomorrow.

Sewing and coffee go hand in hand.

This is the second set I did. It's one of my all time favorites.

In gaming news -- not sure if you know this or not, but Resident Evil 5 was released at the end of June. JUNE!! Do you realize how long we could have been playing this game?? It's only one of the best RE co-op games out there. As soon as I found out, I ordered it. Resident Evil 4 comes out at the end of this month. I'm dying...

Day before yesterday I had to drive my aunt to The Laser Spine Institute in Saint Louis. Boy what a day! The drive was effortless, but the waiting, that was the hardest part. I think LaVaughn and I sat out in the waiting area for over 3 hours! We watched what seemed like dozens of episodes of Like It or List is (not sure if that's the name) while we waiting on her to come out.

They had a dining area with free food -- mainly some creepy chips, chopped salad, half sandwiches and several different beverages (mainly hot teas and coffee). I got a coffee at one point, but had to throw it away due to its raunchiness. We left with a couple things of apple juice which we had yesterday.

My aunt got all of her day one testing done and thankfully she didn't have to go back until today to do the rest. Now all we can do is hope that they'll be able to help her out with a VERY minimal surgery.

Since we were in the neighborhood, we asked Christina if she would meet us and pick up the boys that had to be shipped. Since I haven't really talked about the gliders any, I'm referring to Nanook and Gendry. They'll be shipped to Florida and Maryland this Friday to meet their new mommies. #nervous

I guess that about sums up the past couple weeks. I live a very boring life, so not much can be expected in the way of thrills and excitement when I blog. Hopefully it's enough to keep you interested. Until next time...

Off to Ohio...

LaVaughn and I met up with Christina in Arnold today to drop off our little TPM boy, Dale. He's getting shipped Friday to his new mama that lives all the way over in Ohio. I'm not okay with this, I already miss him like crazy. Not to mention he was a complete ANGEL all day and didn't make one peep. Even when I trimmed his nails. That is so not cool!

Since we decided to leave at 3, that left us nearly 4 hours to get there with loads of time to spare. We stopped off and Joann's to buy some fleece, but there wasn't really anything on sale, so we didn't stay there too long. We headed to Walmart after that and did some pretty heavy grocery shopping. We found so any different vegan meats, it was insane! Since this was all in Festus, guess where we're going to be shopping from now on?

I was pleasantly surprised when we got home, our Series 3 Walking Dead POP! Funko collectibles had arrived! I nearly forgot that I ordered them, so you can imagine how happy I was. Now we only need series 4 and 6 -- I'm SO on the hunt now!

Well I guess that's all for now. Time to play some Dying Light and enjoy the rest of the night...

Love & Peace

Smoke on the water -- fire in the sky??

The titles for my blog rings true today. There was some type of smoke filling the sky and surrounding woods this evening. Not sure why, considering I don't know anyone in my town so there was no one to ask. My aunt might possibly know, I need to call her. But anyways, I don't really know what to think of it. It's almost like a forest fire. And the smell, oh gods, the smell!

I tried to get some decent pictures of what it looked like, but that didn't work AT all! I ended up settling for some pictures of the sunset on the lake and of Max.

In other news, I sewed a set today in hopes of selling it today. Our Suggie Planter Buckets arrived today from the lady that we thought was our rival. Her buckets are very different from ours, so I don't think there's much competition to be had. She's also super nice, she even friend requested me on Facebook, as well as asked for advice -- we're all good, basically.

I don't think that I've mentioned this, but we're meeting Christina in Arnold tomorrow with Dale, who will be shipped Friday to Detroit. His new mama lives in Ohio, but the Toledo Airport doesn't allow for United Pet Safe to be shipped to them, which is weird. Anyways, that's the plan for tomorrow.

I guess that's all for now. Until next time...

Pics from today:

Love, love, love this set! Too bad I screwed up on one of the pouches. That was a first for me.

Can you see the haze in the forest?

It was smokey and creepy everywhere.

The road leads to nowhere. Actually it leads home.

Well hello there, Fletcher.

The lake was quite beautiful, even with the haze.

Max is a loon.

An update, of sorts...

It feels like I'm disregarding the gliders and the joeys -- I think it's mainly because my glider fandom has moved to Instagram, so posting here just isn't as exciting. I still love posting here, of course, which is mainly what this update is about today.

I took new joey pics today, for starters. Only of Loras and Nubbins, the others are too wild and crazy for picture days, so they get a pass now.

Loras has imprinted on our hearts, so he will be staying here forever. We're not sure if we'll pair him to someone or just get him neutered, that's all still up in the air. Nubbins already has a home with a lady in Tennessee, which I'm grateful for. Dale is going to Christina next week to be shipped, which makes me sad. His brother isn't even remotely paid for, so it'll be a while before he goes anywhere. There's also a good chance Cordelia will go to her new home next week or the weeks after. I have to talk to the girl that's adopting her first.

I've been sewing like crazy this week. I have one set sold, possibly two others. I'll have to order fleece for the other two, so it'll be at least a week before I can get around to that. I think I only have a couple yards left. Sounds like it's time to order more fleece!

Oh, you remember how I rented The Division yesterday? Well that was a waste! I didn't get to play it ONE time! Apparently this game has to be connected to the internet at all times and required a HUGE 2.7 GB update. Do you have any idea how slow our internet is? It would take 15+ hours of constant downloading for a update that big. So the game had to go back today, unplayed. Sucks.

Well I guess that's all for now. Please enjoy a sampling of the joey pics that I took today below...

Love & Peace

Beck's Tree Farm 2015

I don't know why, but there were NO trees at the grocery store today. They used to get trees in the day after Thanksgiving, now it's well over a week after Thanksgiving before they get them. Annoying! Luckily we found a tree farm just outside of Farmington. Since my aunt and uncle have a truck, they were able to haul it for us.

We found the farm in no time, despite the terrible driving conditions -- it was so cold and rainy today! Thankfully we found a tree within 5 minutes of arriving. AND it was only the second tree we looked at! Winning!

We shopped around in their little store for a few minutes, admiring some of their overpriced items, some underpriced, but not many. We departed shortly after and rushed home to decorate the tree.

Our red and green theme turned out AWESOME! Unfortunately we're short a couple strands of garland -- our tree ended up being quite a bit bigger than we anticipated. So now we have to go to the store tomorrow and get more. We need some green garland as well, so it's a much needed trip. We're finishing the tree tomorrow and decorating the rest of the house. Fun fun!

Speaking of Walmart, we went back yesterday after the majority of the Black Friday crowd left and were able to find loads of movies and a couple games. We also found a gorgeous scarf for me and some gloves for LaVaughn . Totally worth the drive. Anyways, I guess that all for now. LOADS of pics of the tree farm and gorgeous tree below!

They had a nice little set-up of decorations.

They also had loads of homemade jams.

And butters.

Another nice setup.
