What's been going on...

So, lots has taken place over the last 10 days since I've blogged. I've had some time to blog, but I'm keeping my mind pre-occupied with other things lately, things I actually enjoy more than writing. So, let me start with the most exciting news (to me).

We found a kitten. I know, I know, we do NOT need more cats, nor do we want more, but some jerk dropped a kitten off (maybe more) next to our mailbox. We were driving home I want to say Thursday before last and there she was. LaVaughn got out of the car and chased her down, then we brought her down to the house.

She's young, probably no older than 3 months and was super skinny. She had some eye irritation going on and started sneezing quite a bit over the weekend, so I called Monday and made her vet appointment for Thursday. Her check-up went good, aside from being a tad on the sickly side, but Heather said she really didn't even look that bad. Her lungs sounded good, so she was almost certain she had a viral infection which resulted in a URI. She's on 10 (I think) days of Clavamox now.

LaVaughn and I both swear up and down that she's Bart's kitten. She looks identical to him, even when he was a kitten. I would almost put money on the fact that she's one of his babies, which warms my heart. I miss Bart so much and think of him often. Even more now, but it doesn't make me as sad as my memories of him. We've decided to name her Clementine, which fits her so well.

Cersei isn't too keen on the idea of having another kitten around, but she does seem to be warming up to her. Too bad Clementine wants absolutely nothing to do with poor Cersei.

Crappy picture, but isn't she cute??

I've actually (slowly) started getting back into sewing lately. I sewed not one, but TWO cage sets last week! It was so much fun and such a warm welcome back into the world of vending when my cage set sold literally two minutes after I posted it. She even bought another, but has yet to pay for it. I cut out a set today that I'll hopefully get around to sewing tomorrow.

Sewing and coffee go hand in hand.

This is the second set I did. It's one of my all time favorites.

In gaming news -- not sure if you know this or not, but Resident Evil 5 was released at the end of June. JUNE!! Do you realize how long we could have been playing this game?? It's only one of the best RE co-op games out there. As soon as I found out, I ordered it. Resident Evil 4 comes out at the end of this month. I'm dying...

Day before yesterday I had to drive my aunt to The Laser Spine Institute in Saint Louis. Boy what a day! The drive was effortless, but the waiting, that was the hardest part. I think LaVaughn and I sat out in the waiting area for over 3 hours! We watched what seemed like dozens of episodes of Like It or List is (not sure if that's the name) while we waiting on her to come out.

They had a dining area with free food -- mainly some creepy chips, chopped salad, half sandwiches and several different beverages (mainly hot teas and coffee). I got a coffee at one point, but had to throw it away due to its raunchiness. We left with a couple things of apple juice which we had yesterday.

My aunt got all of her day one testing done and thankfully she didn't have to go back until today to do the rest. Now all we can do is hope that they'll be able to help her out with a VERY minimal surgery.

Since we were in the neighborhood, we asked Christina if she would meet us and pick up the boys that had to be shipped. Since I haven't really talked about the gliders any, I'm referring to Nanook and Gendry. They'll be shipped to Florida and Maryland this Friday to meet their new mommies. #nervous

I guess that about sums up the past couple weeks. I live a very boring life, so not much can be expected in the way of thrills and excitement when I blog. Hopefully it's enough to keep you interested. Until next time...

Growing beauties...

I can't believe how big these joeys have gotten, it's unreal. And with our busy day-to-day schedule, it seems they get that big even sooner. It won't be long before these guys will be leaving. Of course, I'm thrilled that they've all found homes, but it breaks my heart each time to see them go. It's going to be especially hard with Nanook, I'm extremely bonded to him. :(

Nymeria will be leaving next Thursday to stay the night with Milli. The following day she'll deliver her to her new mommy at the SGGA. My lovely, lovely aunt will be taking her to Poplar Bluff for us, because we have to go to Cape next Wednesday for LaVaughn's doctors appointment Thursday. It would just be a nightmare to have to drive all the way home from Cape and then drive all the way to Poplar Bluff.

So anyway, that's that. Now time for some joey pictures! Enjoy!

A taste of spring (plus Pip and other updates)...

I'm merely commenting on the fact that everything is finally starting to bloom -- nothing to do with the temperature. I honestly can't believe how chilly it's been lately. Anyways, the tulips are starting to bloom in my neck of the woods and I couldn't help but go out and photograph them. They'll have fallen of or be torn down by the dog in no time, so I really needed to take advantage.

I also got some super cute pictures of Zoe earlier while she was begging for handouts. She sits still when she wants something, so it's give ample opportunity to photograph her.

In other news, Pip has been put on a 2 week course of antibiotics to help combat his infection. She said that it's either a tooth root abscess or a sinus infection. If it doesn't clear up within a week, he'll have to go back and be sedated for further investigation. I'm hoping that it's just a sinus infection and that these will do the trick.

LaVaughn also went back to the doctor today for a check up after her hospital visit. Since her ear is still swollen, her doctor wants her to have a CT scan at the hospital. They're going to call and schedule that, then they'll let us know when it is.

Well I guess that's all for now. It's short and boring, but it's something. Until next time...

Playing dice for Q-Tips...

What a busy few days it's been! I guess that's why it's been so long since my last post -- 1 week tomorrow! So, I left you with Norman and his penis issues. Well thankfully, things are finally starting to look up (knock wood), The color has practically returned to normal and it's retracted by 80%. We've been keeping him very lubricated with Vetericyn and KY Jelly.

He's been living alone for a week now, which is heartbreaking. After he started to heal, he starting crying for his family. He's 4 months old, but such a baby in some ways still. Once he's 100% recovered from this, we're going to introduce him to Ginny. They will (hopefully) make the cutest couple!

Speaking of gliders, I'm going to give you a rundown on all the happenings with all the mamas and their babies. Ellie is FINALLY starting to show, quite a bit, actually. Charli is fairly huge and was evening singing a couple days ago. Chloe's babies are huge and fluffy and so sweet. Jim has a home lined up, but Dale is still available. Kira's little girl is so cute, but she's a little punk. I'll probably create an ad for her later this week.

In cat news, Toby is still missing. Have I even mentioned that he's been gone for 2 weeks now? Bart disappeared for over 3 weeks, so I'm still holding out hope for Toby. Mason and Jasper have been MIA for the past 2 days now, but Mason showed up today, thankfully. Cersei and Bart hang around the house almost all the time, which is great. I just wish the boys would stop running off. As much as I don't want to admit it, I think Bart is chasing them off and fighting them.

So, aside from animals, not too much as been going on. I've been working and sewing, that's pretty much it. I worked Saturday for just over 3 hours -- not that I'm complaining. Sunday I sewed a cage set, vacuumed the house, vacuumed the glider room, cleaned drop trays, did laundry, and cleaned the rat cage. Busy day! Monday I had to drive my aunt to Cape so that she could get an injection in her back... Not fun! We left the house just before noon and didn't get home until almost 8.

I was so aggravated at myself. I completely forgot to get the Redbox game and movie that we rented, so as soon as we got home, LaVaughn and I had to turn around and go straight into Piedmont before 9 that night. This was after we shut the chickens and ducks up, fed the cats, dogs, and put the groceries away. I also had to feed the gliders when we got back from Piedmont just before 9. I was so exhausted! I also had to work the following day, which completely sucked. It didn't help that we were super busy -- you have no idea how sore I am from running all over the place at work.

Today I've been semi chill. I cut out a cage set last night. Oh yeah, let me break here for a second and tell you about the fleece that arrived in the mail. I ordered fleece from Hancock last week and it arrived Monday, but they were out of 3 different things that we ordered, so I had to order fillers from Fabric.com which won't  be here until Saturday. Sigh...

Anyways, I had one that was paired up, so I cut that out last night and sewed it up today. A lady that ordered a cage set from me last week and paid via money transfer (at Walmart) commented on the set I posted a little while ago and then she sent me a message. She told me that she loved it and wanted it, but she didn't get paid for a few days. I could tell how much she wanted it, so I told her I had no problems holding it for her.

I hate that the rest of our fleece won't be here for a few more days. I badly want to cut more and sew.

Hmm... what else. Monday while we were waiting on my aunt, we decided to do some much needed grocery shopping. We loaded up on Morning Start and Cinnabon coffee creamer while we were there. After that we headed to Hastings where we walked around and ended up scoring Clay and Gemma POP! Funko's to complete our Sons Of Anarchy collection. Yay!

They had a "Buy One Get One For 50% Off" sale on their POP! Funko toys, but we thought they were all 50% off, so we had like 9 of them -- 7 being Walking Dead ones. It didn't take us long to put them all back once we figured out what the sale really was, haha. Oh well, maybe next time. :)

Well I guess that's all for now. There will be lots of cute joey pictures at the bottom that I took today. Hope you enjoy...

Love & Peace
