Say hello to our new feathered friends!

Today has been a glorious day! Not only did we get a new rooster, but we got a new duck as well!!

The rooster that we got is a beautiful Silver Laced Wyandotte. Seriously one of the prettiest roosters I've ever seen! He's only 6 months old, so he's a tad on the small side right now. When he's fully grown, he's going to be stunning! The place that we got him from had some hens as well, but of course - they sold all of them yesterday! I wanted to die. At least we were able to get him, though. We've decided to call him, Carter.

The duck that we got is a beautiful Ancona drake! Not sure if you guys remember the Magpie drake that we got last year, but something happened to him. I don't believe I ever mentioned that before. He just disappeared one day and never came back. Anyways, Anconas are like completely opposites of Magpie's, so it's really nice to have a nearly all white drake instead of an all black one.  We thought of a great name for him too... Harley!

While we were on our way to get our duck, a semi with a flatbed trailer pulled out in front of us pretty fast and completely lost his trailer! It was kind of freaky, but luckily no one got hurt. I'm not going to go into massive detail about is - I got pretty much the entire thing on video.

Happy Early Thanksgiving!

I always go to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. It's something LaVaughn and I have done our entire lives. So this year, we had to have it early. Her hubby is a truck driver and was only going to be in today and tomorrow, so it was only natural to want to have it today.

Another thing that my aunt does differently is having Thanksgiving Dinner at noon. It's more of a Thanksgiving lunch if you ask me. LaVaughn and I never get up that early to eat, not even when we were just girls! We usually roll in around 2PM or so and by then my aunt and uncle have already eaten. That's when we just grab left overs and head home. After we talk with them for a while, of course.

And because we got there late, I wasn't able to get any good photos of anything. Definitely nothing on last years Turkey Day post. I think I had close to 60 photos or so. Well, it's definitely slimmed down this year! Considering I'm not really in the captioning mood, I suppose that's for the best.

Well, I hope everyone that has an early Turkey Day has a good one! Hopefully every one's thankful for the right things. ;)

Well hello... strange little dog?

A random little dog showed up at our house today. I found the neighbor's dog and decided to follow her home. It was a cute little male beagle that had the prettiest little eyes. The dog was super adorable and sweet, but very standoffish. Every time you would talk to him or even look at him, he would crouch down as low as possible and literally crawl towards you. The neighbor said that someone came here about a week ago and said that they were missing their beagle.

We decided to keep the dog around while they called the guy that was looking for the dog. And to our surprise, it was his! Definitely a happy ending to this little dogs day. The poor little guy had been missing for 10 days!

I suppose that's all, just wanted to share the news.

Who's a birthday girl!

That would be, LaVaughn. This day rolls around once a year to celebrate the birth... of a demon! I may as well call my Aunt Sharon, Rosemary. Haha, it's all in good fun. It wasn't anything big, just a gathering at my aunties house for cake and food. I think I'm noticing a pattern here. Anyways, it was a pretty good day for a b-day and an even better day to be with family.

I believe I took enough photos that pretty much tell a story of what happened, so don't forget to check those bad boys out at the bottom.

Meet the glider fams... with a couple mice on the side.

It's amazing how cute sugar glider families can be. When our girls have joeys, the pouches are always full of glider cuteness. I managed to capture some of that cuteness last night while I was in the glider room. Everyone was all snug and warm in their all fleece pouches. If cuteness could kill, this whole house would be dead, lol.

Aside from that... Una caught ANOTHER baby mouse!! We're a little short on temporary rodent cages, so we had to put the little guy in with our other mouse that she caught a couple weeks ago. We knew we were taking a risk by doing so, but they got along like they had known each other for years! I actually recorded a couple videos of their meeting, but haven't uploaded them yet, sorry.
