Say hello to our new feathered friends!

Today has been a glorious day! Not only did we get a new rooster, but we got a new duck as well!!

The rooster that we got is a beautiful Silver Laced Wyandotte. Seriously one of the prettiest roosters I've ever seen! He's only 6 months old, so he's a tad on the small side right now. When he's fully grown, he's going to be stunning! The place that we got him from had some hens as well, but of course - they sold all of them yesterday! I wanted to die. At least we were able to get him, though. We've decided to call him, Carter.

The duck that we got is a beautiful Ancona drake! Not sure if you guys remember the Magpie drake that we got last year, but something happened to him. I don't believe I ever mentioned that before. He just disappeared one day and never came back. Anyways, Anconas are like completely opposites of Magpie's, so it's really nice to have a nearly all white drake instead of an all black one.  We thought of a great name for him too... Harley!

While we were on our way to get our duck, a semi with a flatbed trailer pulled out in front of us pretty fast and completely lost his trailer! It was kind of freaky, but luckily no one got hurt. I'm not going to go into massive detail about is - I got pretty much the entire thing on video.

Here are the photos:

Here's our new Silver Laced Wynadotte rooster, Carter.

Look at those feathers!

He's so pretty!

Here's the semi wreck.

And last, but definitely not least - our Ancona drake, Harley.

Here's the video:

What's tiny, fat and furry all over?

If you guessed puppies, then you're right! We had the unbelievable please of playing/interacting with puppies today and it was awesome! The brother of one of my aunts friends has a dog that had 7 of the cutest puppies a week ago. They're so cute and so tiny. We went to his house today and, ff course, held each one and took individual pictures of all of them. We're also the lucky ones that get to advertise these puppies, lol. Oh well, hopefully we'll be able to find homes for all of them. Know anyone? :)

That's mainly all I wanted to share. I must warn you, these pictures are seriously cute and will seriously make you want a puppy. That's what happened to me anyway, lol.

Bonus Gallery!

The chickens all got the run of the yard again yesterday, but I didn't go outside to take any photos. I did, however, manage to get a couple photos of Serafina and Phillippe sitting under a tree. I was actually shocked that they weren't in the stream behind the house!

These images are slightly enhanced, I took them through the window from a distance:

 Duck love. <3

Our Mallard hen, Serafina, taking a nap.

Our Magpie drake, Phillippe, cleaning himself.

Guess what we did today?

If you guessed sewed, then you're right and you get a gold star! We had to finish up a pretty big custom order today and I think they turned out pretty nice. I must warn you, I didn't get the best pictures ever, just one of everything together. I know that's not normally my style, but at least I got one, hehe. I'll try to take individual  photos tomorrow before they're shipped.

Aside from that, I believe we may have a sick duck on our hands. Our new Magpie boy - who is yet to be named - has been making a sound similar to the sound a cat makes when they hock up a hairball. No clue why he's doing this, but I hope it's nothing serious. And while we're on the subject of our new ducky, I'll go ahead and tell you his new name... Phillippe. Not too bad, eh?

Well, I suppose that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Fun visit with the Residents of District 9... (59+ Pictures Included!)

The evenings have been nice enough to allow us to comfortably spend time with the chickens, ducks and turkeys of District 9. I'm sure you all know by now that if we spend a lot of time with anything, there's are sever pictures to follow, lol. When the days are so beautiful and the subjects are so cute, how can we not?

I also managed to get a couple videos, so be sure to check those out after the photos. Well, I guess that's all for now. I mainly just wanted to share all the pics and videos. Until next time, you know where to find me...
