The battle of 5 animals...

LaVaughn and I took our aunt's 2 puppies to the vet today. She doesn't have an account (or relationship) with the vet we use, so she just has us take her animals for her. Hence why we took Fletcher before. Anyways, they were due for their second round of puppy vaccinations and just overall checkup. They also got their first treatment of Sentinel!

We also took one of our younger chickens with us, due the to fact that she had some type of string tied around her tongue and there was NO possible way that we could get it off -- believe me, we tried! Luckily the vet was able to free her tongue from the constraining string. On the downside, we don't know if she'll lose her tongue or not, and neither did the vet. Only time will tell.

We also picked up some more medicine for our rats -- all 4 of them. They will all be on a combination of Doxycycline and Baytril. Sally is on an addition steroid to treat inflammation and for pain management. Lets hope this will subdue all their symptoms for a little while longer

We had to go to the store after to grab glider fruit, veggies, yoggies, baby food, and a few additional items, along with exchanging my one pair of Walking Dead pants for an entirely new (and more comfortable) pair.

We grabbed a burger from McDonald's, then went to Dairy Bar for fries and a soda. I swear, my diet Dr. Pepper had essence of skunk, I kid you not. I didn't even drink it all, so you know there was something up with it!

Since we made it home (fairly) early, I decided to go ahead and make HPW and Reep's, mainly because the gliders have been out for 2 days and I didn't want to put it off any longer. I have to work the next few days, so it was really my best option. Surprisingly, we were able to find a papaya and a golden honeydew for the gliders -- win!!

That's really all that happened today, not too exciting, not to boring.

Practicing my landscapes.

As you can tell, things were better here.

I've learned SO much more about aperture since I've started researching how to capture the best landscape portrait.

Now for a round of papaya photography:

I LOVE papaya seeds!

The golden (or yellow) honeydew.

HPW and Reep's sugar glider diet.

And lastly, Sally's array of baby foods!

The road so far...

There definitely hasn't been a lack of excitement the last few days. The majority of Friday (Halloween) was spent celebrating my small victory -- I finally beat The Evil Within -- and playing with our new iPhones. I know it's childish to swoon over something so silly, but it's crazy exciting. Not to mention, they're fun and entertaining!

I didn't have to work Saturday because I requested off. Halloween and the day after are a hellish nightmare at McDonald's, it's not something I would EVER want to experience! I did have to work yesterday, I even stayed 40 minutes over, but that's nothing new.

When I arrived home, I was notified by LaVaughn that she got into a fight with our "neighbor"about our cats. Okay, this guy has absolutely NO say so over our cats. He doesn't feed them, he doesn't take care of them, he doesn't even have to see them! He sees them all maybe once, or twice a month -- max!

Out "mama cat" (she doesn't have a proper name, we call her that and Cersei) recently had a litter of kittens, none of which we're keeping. Our aunt was going to take them for us and find them homes. He bitched about them, apparently to LaVaughn's face and told her we needed to get rid of them and that there was no reason to have so many cats. He kept saying 2 was enough outside.

I really can't stand this old dick sometimes.

LaVaughn and I both know we have too many cats, but it's not OUR fault that people drop them off on our road. It's not OUR fault that we're animal lovers. It's not OUR fault that we can't ignore a hungry creature that's just outside our door every time we go outside. We have full intentions of finding a couple of them homes, but that's our business, not his.

He just really pisses me off.

In other news, LaVaughn and I are mildly obsessed with our new phones. The first night we got them was all kind of a blur. It was practically gone before I knew it. I finally had to turn it off and put it up just after midnight, because I knew I wouldn't leave it alone. Oh well, they're expensive phones, may as well get out of them what they're worth.

Today is the one week mark for the ratties and their meds. The first couple days Sally took her Clavamox super well, no fight at all, but after that is was a no go. It's not too hard to force it down her, considering she takes to little, but she still doesn't like it. Melissa takes her Doxy just fine every single time we give it to her -- she even wants more! She doesn't get hardly any of that, it's the Baytril that she take a half syringe of. I don't think I've ever seen her detest something more! It's a task every single time, it never fails.

Luckily, the meds seem to be doing wonders for both! Sally doesn't seem disoriented anymore and Melissa's breathing seems to be improved. So yay!

Since I finally beat The Evil Within (go me!) I've decided to go back through the game on Casual, the level below the one I beat it on. It so much fun this time. Not only do I get to keep all my guns, it's all around easier! And I find 10x more green juice points. It's awesome.

Well I suppose that's all for now. I can't really think of anything else that's happened the past few days. I'm sure I'll be blogging tomorrow about my phone -- mainly the pictures, but the phone all the same.

Here are some pictures from Saturday... from the actual camera:

I love the red colors! It screams fall.

Pretty red leaves.

Here are some pictures of my new iPhone 5c:

Isn't it gorgeous?

The colors are so pristine!

I've been told by my friend Taylor that white it boring, but I think it's awesome!

Some get a little and some get none...

Today has been a stressful day to say the least. It all started when I went to bed and had a level 7-8 anxiety attack. The son of a bitch came out of nowhere and just, BAM! It left me laying in the bed for well over an hour with my heart racing -- it was miserable. I was finally (thankfully) able to fall asleep just after 6:30 this morning.

After LaVaughn woke me up just after noon, we both showered and started off towards Fredericktown for our vet appointment. I believe I explained why we were going Friday, but I'm not too sure. Long story short, Melissa has breathing issues and Sally has vertigo issues.

We made it to the vets office 20 minutes early and was brought back not 5 minutes later. She grabbed Sally out first and examined the abscess/tumor area on her face and began to squeeze. I swear, I think 1/3 of Sally's weight was due to the amount of pus she had in her face! She kept squeezing it, and it kept coming... and coming, and coming. Poor Sally was squeaking so bad towards the end -- she never even once tried to bite, but that's because she's an angel. She put her on her usual, Clavamox. She separated the doses for us again, so we can have one now and one a couple weeks from now.

She grabbed Melissa next, examined her mammary tumor, then moved on to her chest where she listened to her breathing. Unfortunately, it's what I expected... Mycoplasma. She didn't even try to mask it with Amoxicillin, she went ahead and put her on Baytril and Doxycycline. She's not even going to attempt to remove the tumor right now -- she said more than likely we would lose her under the anesthesia. So that's being put on the back burner for a little while.

All in all it was a successful trip, well worth the money and time spent. I just hope it does our girls some good and they're vet-free for a few more months.

Our neighbor that we've had/know for over 15 years passed away Friday morning. She was a die hard Christian and talked of nothing buy God every time we would see her. Over the last year, she would take walks from her house and venture down to ours, stopping for about 20 minutes to drink some water and talk. I knew she was going downhill, because she was really starting to look her age and began repeating the same questions every time she would stop by.

She was 79, I believe, and looked every day of 60. She's lived a full, happy life.

It came as great shock with we got a call Friday telling us of her passing. I couldn't believe it, I thought Vel would be around for ever! I still don't think I've fully grasped the concept of her being gone.

The reality kind of set in a bit more today when we stopped by her wake on the way home. Half of Ironton's population was there to see her. LaVaughn and I grabbed a memorial booklet, signed the guest log and just stood in the back of the church for about 15 minutes. There were so many people there that we didn't know -- it was just awkward and uncomfortable. We figured we said our peace, then left.

So there you have it, that's our big exciting day!

Love & Peace

This is the only picture I took today, and it was on the phone.
