Bleed it out...

Since I've had a very strenuous couple days at work -- and one tomorrow --  I thought I would relax a little while with a nice, long blog. It's long overdue and I have a lot to talk about.

First up, do you remember the girl that adopted Hadley and Kyro? The one that was going to get Avon and Charli? We long story short, she got Hadley and Kyro and did great with them for months! Well, as her college days grew close, she became more and more distant with those two. Neglecting to post about them, show me new pictures and so on.

Well out of the blue a couple weeks ago, she messages me and tells me that Kyro died! I was at work at the time, so I couldn't fully grasp what she was telling me. I felt distraught. I messaged LaVaughn and told her -- she was equally as shocked.

When I got home I was able to discuss things with her. Another long story short, she wanted us to take Hadley back, which we had no problems doing. The only bad thing was that she was in upstate Missouri, like all the way above Jeff City, so we had no way of getting her. We went back and forth for a week trying to figure out how to get her to us.

LaVaughn and I are good friends with a guy in STL named, Kyan. We've talked to him for as long as I can remember and he's crazy about his gliders. I ended up asking him if he wanted Hadley. He said he wasn't sure if he could do, then the next thing I know he and Kelsey are meeting up the next day. I was ecstatic!

Kyan got her and put her in a massive Madagascar cage with her own wheel, loads of food, and a nice clean cage set. He said that she was super small and stunk horribly. This depressed me a great deal.

A couple days went by and I get this frantic message from Kyan saying that he needed to talk to me. I quickly responded to his message, all the while thinking the worst about Hadley. You know what he had to say?

"Hadley isn't a girl, this is a boy."

So all this time, he's had Kyro!! So poor little Hadley died and Kelsey didn't even know which one it was!! I mean, how do you not know your gliders? Even when LaVaughn and I have a busy week, or even a busy month we still know who is who! I was completely beside myself with disbelief. I haven't brought it up to Kelsey and I don't plan to anytime soon. I'm just happy Kyro is in a good home where he's loved (like you wouldn't believe) and cared for.

In other joey news, I had been posting and bumping Filie's ads to no avail. We had two people moderately interested in him, but something would always come up. Like he wasn't het for anything, or they were still trying to figure things out. Tracy messaged us off and on about him, commenting on how pretty he was, or just asking if he had a home. We knew she wanted him, but she didn't want to say so. She had planned on getting him in the beginning, but decided she didn't need to add to her brood, so she decided against it.

Well, she messaged us a couple nights ago and said that if he doesn't have a home by Sunday, she wants him. I told her there was no since in waiting and that he was hers. So... he's going to be living with Tracy (and his 3 older sister) at the end of the month.

I actually just ordered two shipping crates and two kritter keepers a little while ago from Petsmart. Wanna guess how much?? Only $42 for all of it! I found a discount code that gave us 20% off and free shipping. It was a steal!

All of the kittens are getting so big -- and looking so much better! They're all eating well, using the litter box, social, playful... it's almost time for them to go. I took their pictures today, so I guess it's time to start advertising. I'm a freak when it comes to trying to get rid of kittens, so I'm sure I'll have a difficult time finding them all homes. I know people have to think I'm weird when I ask them questions. Oh well, it's just the way I am.

See, I said I had a lot to say today, but this seems like a fairly short blog... interesting. Well, I suppose I should end it here then.

Love & Peace

We're off to see the wizard!

LaVaughn and I just returned from Festus not long ago. We finally got to meet up with Taylor and Payton again! It's been far too long since we've mingled face to face. And to think... LaVaughn and I met Taylor through our really good friend, Stacie, and then ended up becoming closet to Taylor. Of course, we still love Stacie, but we spend far more time with Taylor than her.

Taylor is doing us yet another HUGE favor! Our little girl, Hadley, has to be shipped to Seattle to her new mom, Tracy. And since we live so far away from STL and the flights normally have to leave at like no later that 10:00 in the AM, it just doesn't work well for us. So Taylor, being the most awesome chickadee in the world, offers to ship her for us.

If there was any person locally that I would trust our gliders with, it would be her.

We met them outside of Petmart and decided to go in and chit chat. Animals are allowed in there, so there's really nothing they can say to us. It was actually funny, cause the entire 40 minutes that we were in there, one of the employees kept walking up and down the isle pretending he wasn't watching our every move. It was pathetic. He then lowered himself to actually pretending to PRICE check items in the SAME isle as us. It was so horrible. That's when we decided to wrap things up and move over to Joann's.

During the time we were in there, we were all rubbing on and holding everyone's gliders. Taylor brought Odin, Lilah, Ellie, and one of my personal favorites... Kilani. No joke, this is the biggest glider I have ever seen in my life! She's also one of the sweetest. As soon as Taylor took her out of the pouch and handed her to me, I showed her the top of my bra and she dove right in. She stayed there the entire time we were in the store.

Taylor, LaVaughn, and myself all stayed close together and played with the gliders. Payton (or ADD) paced up and down the isles, all the while eating corn nuts and drinking soda. She is something else! Lol. She's freaking hysterical, though. Then, out of nowhere, she shouted that she was going to go get some breadsticks from the pizza place. So random.

Okay, now back to Joann's. We all made our way to the fleece section, which was had, considering all their no sew throws were 50% off. Yeah, I was definitely eyeballing those, lol. Not 2 minutes after we made it to the fleece section, LaVaughn finds this freaking awesome greenish/yellow and blue cheetah print fleece. I fell in LOVE! She also found the perfect solid to match. Can't wait to see what we make with that awesomeness.

We didn't spend too much time in there. After we got our yards cut, we checked out and went back outside. We said our goodbyes, made plans for the future, and then parted ways. LaVaughn and I had to go to DG next door and grab some wrapping paper, name tags, tape, etc.

While we were browsing in their terribly creepy store, we managed to find a couple delicacies... peanut butter Pop Tarts and pecan pie Pringles! Yeah! I hate to be a bubble buster to all you pecan pie lovers out there, but they we're nothing special. They kind of just tasted like maple syrup chips. o.O

Aside from our snack attack foods, we finally managed to pick up some wrapping paper, tape, and name tags! Oh it is so on tonight! I've wanted to start wrapping presents ever since we started buying them!

So that concludes our day, Now were $50 short and missing one of our babies. :( I know she's in fantastic hands until she shipped Saturday, but I still can't help but worry about her and want to cry when I see her parents. Sigh... I think breeding is becoming a little too overwhelming anymore. Until next time...

Gearing up for a big night of present wrapping! :D

Yeah, these were just too tasty looking to pass up...

And lastly, the fleece we bought at Joann's:

It's a bittersweet symphony...

Today was such a sad day. Today we said goodbye to two of our babies, Haldey and Kyro. It's days like this that make me want stop breeding entirely. I know that sounds selfish, but it seems like letting joeys go is getting harder and harder. When I went to take Hadley and Kyro out of the pouch where they were snuggled up with their parents, I lost it. I started crying like a little girl and then finished by apologizing for taking Sadie and Pip's babies away from them. Ugh.

Then, since my nose was so stuffed up, I started mildly choking and couldn't breath.

By the time we made it to Farmington, I told LaVaughn I had to stop and get a coffee for my throat. It was so dry and scratchy, I couldn't hardly swallow! McDonald's was the closest, so we decided to pull in there. Big mistake, by the way. It ended up taking over 5 minutes just to get a coffee. I honestly have no idea why they call their coffee "premium", because it sucks.

Anyways, we left Farmington around 3:00 and ended up making it to Festus by 3:30. And to think, we were worried that we would be late! It was just the opposite, actually. When I text Kelsey to tell her we were there, she told me they were running behind and would be there around 4:30! Go figure.

We were parked in front of a Joann fabric store -- which was where we planned on meeting her -- which ended up being right next door to a Petsmart! Good call on our end! After we fed everyone a few treats, we decided to head inside to blow the remaining 45 minutes.

I thought Petsway was expensive, but this place takes the cake! Everything they had was 20% higher than it should have been. Minus a couple things, like canned cat food, which we bought. We also bought Milla one of those Crazy Critters toys, the fox one (what would the fox say?). She had one a couple years ago that we picked up the last time we went to Arkansas, but something happened to it. Anyway, that thing and 4 cans of cat food ended up being $13! See what I'm saying?

Anyways, Kelsey showed up not long after that, then we handed the babies over to her. It was bittersweet, but the excitement she expressed when she laid eyes on them and held them for the first time made me smile and not think about the fact that I was actually handing over two of my babies to a complete stranger. Well, I can't really call her a stranger, considering I've been talking to her for 11 months.

She and her dad were both super nice and stayed and talked for a while. It was still sad, but I have a good feeling about her and think she's going to be a great glider mama.

After we said our goodbyes, we headed over to Joann's. Probably not a good idea, considering we're both a tad obsessed with fleece, lol. We ended up getting 8 yards of fabric before we left. We got 6 yards of fleece and 2 yards of flannel. Yup, we're going to give flannel a try. SUPER nervous bout that, but if it turns out the way we want it to, it's going to look awesome!

My conclusion about Joann's... it's awesome!! It's so sad, but I can't wait to go back, lol. Hopefully their blizzard fleece will be on sale the next time we make our way to Festus.

After we nabbed some food from Captain D's, we headed home. All in all, it was a pretty good day. Sad, but good. Kelsey has already emailed us, so I think it's safe to say she'll stay in touch. Until next time...

Hadley and Kyro munching on some yoggies:

Are they not the cutest?

Petsmart!!

This cat reminds me so much of Zoe! I wanted to take it home.

This little lady was a tad on the upset side.

But man was she pretty!

So many fish!

Milla's new Crazy Critters fox toy.

$20 antlers... no thanks.

It's a bird... no, it's a plane. Actually, it's a helicopter.

Our loot from Joann's. I'll post more detailed pictures later. ;)

It's that time of year again...

Time for everything that we know and love about winter to welcome itself with a big, fat slap to my face. Wanna know what I'm talking about? I'm sure you've guessed it by now... a COLD! I thought I might luck out and, I don't know, maybe NOT get sick this winter. Woe is me...

It all started last night at work. Around 6ish, I started getting this weird feeling in my throat. You know that oncoming feeling of a sore throat? The tiny, scratchy tickle. It's hard to explain, obviously, but I had it. I was thinking to myself, "Of course I'm going to get sick on my last day."

Luckily, I got out early (a little after 7) and was able to make my way to the store for some cold meds. I took a couple as soon as I got in the car, but I don't believe it did much good, considering I still ended up developing a full fledged sore throat. I did read online about downing a vinegar/water mixture that everyone swore by. It's a nasty little concoction that has to be taken every 30 minutes! But you know what, it actually helped! It sure didn't help the upset stomach that I got afterwords.

Anyway, lets just hope this cold doesn't last as long as the last one I had.

Considering I felt like crap today, I didn't want to do anything! LaVaughn and I are behind on two fairly large cage set orders, so I had to force myself to do a little something. By the time I was done, I felt like I was going to fall over from exhaustion. I'm serious, I'm that weak! I was worse last night, so lets hope I'm partially on the mend.

Other than that I did absolutely nothing today! I've sat on the couch, sulking. I just hope I'm better tomorrow. We have to take Hadley and Kyro to meet their new mom in Festus. I am so not looking forward to this. I mean, I'm happy and excited for her, but I'm going to miss them so much, it's not even cool.

Alright, I believe I've exerted myself enough for one day. Until next time...

The cage sets we cut today. We so outdid ourselves...

I don't ever wanna feel, like I did that day...

This just feels like one of those majorly slacking weeks where we're not going to sew at all. Considering we sewed until our fingers bled last week, I think we've earned this week off, lol. Although, I do like keeping up with things and I also like trying to sew up all the fleece we have and (hopefully) sell it so that we can order more.

Actually, we already did order more fleece. There was a killer awesome sale going on, so it was really hard to pass up. It's so hard to wait on fleece. I want it SO bad, lol.

As soon as I got home from work last night, LaVaughn and I decided to trim all the joeys' nails. They needed it. We try to wait and trim their little ones nails until they're around 6 weeks OOP. Of course, everyone's different and you can do it sooner, but we both prefer to wait. We also managed to get a couple cute pictures of them in the process.

Since we have so many glider nails to trim now, we decided to break them all up into small groups to do over the next couple days. Today, we trimmed Boone, Avon, and Hadley. We decided to trim those three and carry them around because they need the most one-on-one attention. Avon's alone all the time, so he needs it the most. Boone has Chloe, but he was a super crabby joey, so he's taking a little time to warm up to us. He is getting LOADS better though. Hardly any crabs now! And Hadley is just a complete angel. It's going to be so terribly hard to let her go. :(

And finally, I was able to get pictures of some of the older babies! Like I said before, since we have so many now, it's easier to break them down into groups!

Well, I suppose that's all for now. LaVaughn and I have to jot to town for some things. No telling what we'll drag home. As long as it's not an animal, I'm happy. Until next time...

Love & Peace
