Rat snacks and a fond farewell...

Well yesterday was an eventful day. We finally mustered up enough courage to re-home our lovebirds and, wait for it... their 3 new BABIES! I know I never blogged about it, but I didn't want to say anything because we had already planned on getting rid of them so it just saved a lot of typing that would eventually be for nothing. The babies were over a month old, so they were big! There was 2 pied and 1 green. They were cute, but we never handled them.

I had been talking to a lady about them for the past couple weeks. She seemed fairly normal, so I finally agreed to meet her around 4:30 yesterday in Park Hills. Well I was planing on going alone, but I stopped by my aunts before I left and she said she'd ride up with me, which was cool. Long story short, my aunt and I met the lady and she took the birds. It's kind of sad, but I think it will pass. And hey, there are 5 less birds in the house now.

In happier news... yesterday was also spoil your rats with loads of food day, so we did just that. We had some left over fish sticks in the fridge and some mashed potatoes from dinner, so that paired with lots and lots of peas makes for a stellar rat snack. You can tell from the pictures below that they didn't mind one bit!

Well, I suppose that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Song of the day: The Gambler by Kenny Rogers

Here are some pics from a couple days ago:

This is one of many "peep holes" in their hut, lol.

It's a tad on the dilapidated side.

Oy vey, why much rats chew so much?

As you can see, Evan really wanted out.

 "Pretty please?"

"Look at my cute little face, how can you say no?"

 Jonah, scowling in the corner.

Mean rat alert! He's really. A rapist, but sweet all the same, lol.

Charlie doing what he does best... sleeping and airing out his balls.

 What a bum, lol.

Now for the pics from yesterday:

 See their glorious meal...

 Jonah was definitely loving it.

Evan, not so much. He wanted out more than anything.

"Yes Evan, stay over there so I can have all the peas to myself."

Evan decided food was more important than getting out.

So important that he had to stand in the food, lol.

Jonah always looks so mean! Even when he's being innocent and eating...

 Evan is such a ham.

Time for some rat rape, lol.

 "What did you call me?"

"I know you didn't call me a rapist!"

Then Evan plasters himself to the door as soon as I close it.

Another shot of their even more dilapidated hut.

 It's completely hideous now.

I think it's time for a new one, lol.

Only the lonely...

Wow, it's really been two weeks since my last blog? That's completely nuts! I did so good there for a while, then it just stopped. I've seriously been majorly busy lately and haven't had a lot of time to blog. Between meeting people, making cage sets, have to go here and there, taking care of all the animals and just doing stuff around the house, I just don't have time to blog sometimes. I'll admit, some of my free time consists on watching movies, but hey, that's the only thing that keeps me sane. :)

Anyway, what's been going on lately? Hmm, well Hans went to his new home last weekend, that was pretty sad. His new owners are completely nice and just awesome. He's going to be some unbelievably spoiled. If he isn't already, lol.

We've also been considering re-homing the lovebirds. The older ones and the young ones. They're like so beautiful and awesome, but they're SO messy and a lot of work. Especially considering we have loads of other animals to care for. We were supposed to meet a guy from STL last week with the older birds, but Gmail stopped sending emails for some reason and we lost touch. We didn't figure he still wanted them after that, so we figured we would just keep them and just re-home the young ones. Well, he's been messaging us and saying that he's still interested, so I guess we're going to go forward with the re-homing.

Aside from that, there hasn't really been too much going on. Watched a lot of new movies, some old ones and a lot of good ones. I'll try to get a list up in the next few days. Until then, you know where to find me...

Song of the day: The Sound Of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel

Here are the pics:

This is their new habitat.

He only stood still long enough for me to nab these two pictures, then he was off.

Yeah, this ended up being a jumping spider...

Who knew this was growing in the yard, lol.

Why do cats love boxes?

Just look at that face.

Great picture of Fletcher.

Great picture of Carly.

Susie all big an cute.

Esther all big and cute.

This is our sack of 1000 mealworms!

Their new home.

Look at all of that yummy goodness. You better believe we have some happy gliders. :)

Logan's favorite spot in the cage, lol.

Time for Gene's Birthday pics:

The End.

A new pouch I made. I SO prefer smaller boxed corners as opposed to the larger ones. The smaller ones make the pouch come out more even.

Love the raindrops. <3

Such a pretty bush.

Love this one!

Seriously, another cat in a box?

I think this may be a size too small.

Evan and his orange teeth. But no worries, orange is healthy!

Look at that little chub. Is "little" chub a contradiction?

Glider grub.

Gorgeous little Pip.

He loves the glider bucket.

The Twins:

For some reason, all the glider love the corner hammocks.

Look at those eyes!

Look at those teeth!

Checking on the joeys.

"Yup, they're fine!"
