So caught up in you...

That title rings true to how I feel about Sons of Anarchy at the moment. I'm literally obsessed with the show and want to go so far as to track down an MC and join. I honestly wouldn't care what their initiation would be either. I'm so glad that LaVaughn and I are on the same page with the show, I honestly don't know how well we would get along if she didn't want to watch and obsess about the show as much as me.

That's kind of beside the point right now. We just got back from Cape a short while ago -- my aunt had to have another injection in her back. Out of all the long and heinous drives out there, the drive to Cape is one of the worst. It didn't help that I got up at 8 and was running on 4 hours of sleep, but the drive is terrible none the less.

I'm already on my second cup of coffee and plan on swallowing one more before the nights over. It's only 8, I plan on staying up until at least 3 in the morning. Caffeine is a must!

Aside from the grueling drive there and back, the day wasn't very eventful. The most exciting part was stopping at the grocery store in Marble Hill -- that is seriously one of the creepiest places I've ever been! The town is just so... unusual! Stopping was a requirement, our gliders were completely out of veggies. They're pretty stocked up now! There are two 1 gallon freezer bags full of veggies. Not to mention the sweet potatoes and peppers that aren't in the mix.

Speaking of glider food, we ordered our very FIRST kilo of Wombaroo powder the other day. It's only $25 more to get 3x as much powder. In the long run we're saving close to $50 -- or getting two boxes free. We'll soon have enough Wombaroo to make 44 batches of HPW, so we shouldn't need anymore until next year.

I also ordered some bee pollen to accompany.

Speaking of ordering stuff, we also ordered 6 more yards of fleece from Joann's while they were having a 60% off sale. SUPER stoked to get those! Speaking of sewing, we're actually planning on cutting into and sewing some of the fleece that we've been harboring for months. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. After all, we need to move out what we have before we get our new stuff.

With that being said, I'm out!

When you're alone and life is making you lonely...

My reason for lack of blogging yesterday was due to LaVaughn's MRI. I thought that's what she had done a week prior to today, but I was wrong -- obviously. MRI's are so tedious and long waiting. Especially for me, considering I had to sit in the waiting room all by my lonesome. I kept myself occupied by walking the halls, all the while getting weird looks... as if I'm going to steal something.

Two old guys even stopped me and asked what I was looking for. I noticed the weird looks I was receiving as they walked passed. When they got about 20 paces in front of me, they stopped -- in the middle of the hall, mind you -- and just stared at me. It was terrible and annoying. I mean yes, I appreciate that they were trying to help me, but come on!

I have to take my aunt to Poplar Bluff tomorrow to have an upper GI and colonoscopy. Wanna guess what time? Freaking 6:30... in the morning!! That's not what time we have to leave, that's what time she has to be there! ANYone who knows me (and LaVaughn) knows that I hate mornings.

I'm sure I'm going to stress myself out over it, like always. I can't help it, but I like to keep a schedule when it comes to sleeping and waking up. It's the only thing that helps me cope with my anxiety issues. I know I'm not alone in this, there has to be other people out there that deal with some of the same weird shit that I do. I'm sure everything will be fine, though. It's not the first time I've had to do something like this.

Remember back in 2012 when I had to take my uncle to Saint Louis in the AM? I didn't have to get up until 8, so it's not really the same, but it's close.

Off of that subject for a while! LaVaughn and I got Chinese takeout earlier today and went to Clearwater Dam to eat. We found a gorgeous little spot off the road to picnic that was away from all the fisherman. I already want to go back, lol. It was scorching hot when we first got to town, but it cooled down considerably by the time we made it to the damn. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to stand it.

Omg, I almost forgot! On our way to town (still on our gravel road) we found a tiny little sparrow on the side of the road. It was running around like a madman when we saw it, so of course we had to see if the little thing was okay. Apparently the little guy got separated from his parents -- at least that's what it seemed like. LaVaughn and I chased him down and held him until he calmed down a bit. Apparently his mad screams notified his mom, because a very large sparrow swooped down and landed in the middle of the road.

We released the kraken and he fled like his life depended on it! He completely bolted passed his mom and didn't look back. That's when she decided to take off after him, all the while screaming and trying to get his attention. After about 50 feet, he decided to stop and look back. Mother and son (or daughter) were finally reunited. It was precious.

Speaking of precious, LaVaughn and I got all of the body sprays that we ordered from Bath & Body Works today. Holy crap, they're awesome!! And they all smell just as good as we thought they would. They also come in very decorative bottles, which is a bonus. I have to say, the amount you get is what's most impressive. I can't wait to order more!

Well, I believe that's all for now. I better go enjoy what little bit of time I have left before I have to try and force myself to sleep. *gag*

Snow Day!

Considering the way the weather was condoning itself last night, I honestly didn't think it was going to amount to much. Well, when I awoke to a mini blizzard a short while ago, I couldn't have been more wrong! There was already a couple inches on the ground, but it was getting deeper and deeper by the minute. That's when I swallowed my pride and called work.

Luckily, I talk to Mindy. She's a fellow co-worker (new manager) and she just so happens to live right down the road from me. If I could pick anyone to talk to about calling out, it would be her. She was so laid back about the whole thing and was like, "Shit girl, I know how it is." We continued on for a few minutes, then I hung up.

I tried desperately to go back to sleep, but couldn't. The more I laid there, the more I fretted about missing a day of work. A day of work means a day of pay.

After I got up and engulfed some caffeine, I was ready to go out and take on the snow, freezing weather and all. Considering everything was freshly covered in snow -- and slick -- I decided just to stick to the yard, so my photo range was limited today. That didn't stop me from getting some fairly nice pictures, though.

Other than that, I didn't really do much else today. To all my fellow states out there that got hammered, stay safe, stay worm, and think spring!

Love & Peace

Here are the pictures from a little while ago:

Beautiful cardinal.

I love the beautiful snow covered yard.

Look at the cat prints from their house to the porch.

See, blizzard like conditions.
