Weekly iPhone Roundup {11.7 - 11.11}

This week was fairly uneventful. I mean, we had the Monday ordeal which I posted about Tuesday. Then there was the Midterms and me running around and taking an insane amount of pictures. We've been cleaning a lot in preparation of Thanksgiving week because we start rolling out the decorations that week. I honestly think we're gonna do the Christmas village next week, but I'm not 100% yet.

LaVaughn's birthday is tomorrow, but since we'll be in Perryville working, we celebrated today. It wasn't really even a celebration, but Aunt Sharon made a cake and we took pictures, the usual. I mean, I guess it was a celebration, lol.

I don't think I've mentioned this, but a lady contacted me last week about doing their family photos next Friday, but I haven't heard from her in a few days with a location. Speaking of, I need to text her. She said there will be 7 or 8 people, two of them being kids. I'm wanting to use my 85, but I'm scared it'll be too tight on my DX camera. I've been looking for a cheap, used FX camera, but it's extremely difficult.

There's a lady in Lesterville that has a D850 with like 5 lenses and extras for $2500. She's had it listed for months, so I doubt she'll sell it at that price around here. I mean, D850s are going for $1500 used, so she should really take her sale to eBay. I messaged her a couple months ago and asked if she would sell her tripod separately, but she said no. So I messaged her earlier this week and lowballed her a price for just the camera body, but naturally she declined.

I'm shifting my gaze from the out of my price range D850 to the D750. There's a dude on Marketplace in STL that has one for $500, but he's only responded once and I'm sick of messaging him. I'm just super anxious about all of this. I'm anxious about the potential shoot next week, anxious about finding a good used camera and super anxious about spending the money. I don't like spending money, but if I can make it back on like 2-3 shoots, it's justified.

I hate anxiety.

Okay, I guess I'll stop ranting for now. hopefully I'll know more about everything next week.

View from the drive to Cape Monday. This is highway 55.

A Dollar Tree Plus sign that my mom has been looking for.

Christmas lights on our fence at home.

Tis the season! Check out the Christmas tree!

Here's the World War Z game on PS4. So worth it!

From mine and Max's walk Tuesday.

Max is such a beautiful boy.

He's the prettiest Boxador.

Late night trip to DG Wednesday for cabinet cleaner.

View from my camera Thursday when I was out taking pics.

And lastly, LaVaughn's birthday cake that I decorated... not the best, but not terrible.

Around The Yard: Part One {Fall 2022}

We had amazingly beautiful weather today. I took Max for a little over a mile walk, then rushed home to grab my camera for some last minute pics before the sun set. I was a little late getting the shots I wanted, but I still managed some decent fall photos. It's supposed to be like 40 degrees Friday, so my outdoor photos will be few and far between.

Now I'm going to talk about something random and completely unrelated to fall or photos. Monday when LaVaughn and I were in Cape, I ventured over to the games just to see if there was anything decent. In the cheap sections where the games aren't kept in glass cases, I found World War Z on PS4. I remember reading something about that game a couple years ago, but it didn't have amazing reviews and the game play didn't look all that special. Well, it said it was $17 on the Walmart app, but rang up as $20 at the register. It was late, I was tired, I didn't fight it.

I didn't get around to playing it until last night, but oh my gosh! It's freaking fun! Like no joke, it feels like a Left 4 Dead type game mixed with the mass hoards that Days Gone has, only much more difficult. There are three different locations that you can play (US, Israel, Russia) and three different chapters in each location. Every location also comes with 4 different characters to choose from - way more than I was expecting!

I know I just started, but I only made it through the first chapter in NY. LaVaughn tried the first in Israel and died, I did the same in Russia. I know it's because the game is new, but it's really hard at the start, which I like. So yeah, if you can find it at Walmart for $20 or less, it's totally worth it. Might even be able to find it on eBay for less!

Okay, enough rambling about games, time for pictures!

Leaves are my favorite, but the wind was kind nasty here, as you can see from the blurry ant.

I think this leaf pic would be pretty on glass.

I don't know why, but I love this one.

I was going for a better lighting effect here - I didn't get it.

Garden fence.

These crusty dried up weeds are the best to photograph.

I love these little pompom weeds.

I have no idea what kind of weed these are.

Beautiful red fall leaves.

The texture of this leaf is outstanding!

Weeping Willow vines.

Little red berries on our firebush.

For firebush "berries".

More of those little pompom weeds in the sunset.

Love this one of whatever weed this is. I thought it was a sticky ragwort, but I don't know.

Another one of the mysterious weed.

There was a hornet on the fence, but he wasn't super friendly.

He flew off after this picture.

More of these dried pompom weeds.

Lastly, pompom weed in the sunset.

Feeling complete...

I've waiting for this since -- I honestly don't even know how long. Ever since I set out on my duckling endeavor, I've had my eyes peeled for goslings. Which, surprisingly enough, are hard to come by. It seems like everyone that had goslings were either not selling them, were sold out, or they wanted $20-$40 for them. None of which suited me.

Until today, that is. When I woke up, I was talking to my aunt and she told me that someone had goslings for sale. When she said they posted in the Wayne County group, I knew it was fate! After all, Wayne County is like 10 minutes away. As soon as she told me, I quickly grabbed my phone and started browsing the Facebook groups. Sure enough, there they were. They weren't the African/Chinese geese that I had originally wanted, but they were goslings and that was enough for me.

I contacted the lady and asked if they had any available, their age, breed, and if they were sexed. She said she had 15 available -- no worries about not getting one, she wasn't sure if their sex, that they were Embden/Pilgrim mix, and that they were only a couple days old. #winning!

I told her that I for sure wanted two! She came back and was like, "I have to be in Piedmont by 3:30, not sure if you can meet me then or not." It must have been fate, because we were literally getting ready to go to town and pick up lawn chairs. I told her ABSOLUTELY yes and that we would meet her there, which we did.

She wanted to meet next to the feed store, which worked out perfectly because we needed to get some starter feed anyways.  Naturally, we got there about 15 minutes early which gave us plenty of time to go in and get our feed. And surprisingly enough, this chick was actually on time.  It's so rare that when we go to meet someone they're ever on time, I think it's only happened maybe once or twice in the past five years.

After we finished up there, we headed over to dollar store to pick up our new Adirondack chairs. The chairs are seriously some of the coolest things I've ever seen in my entire life. And they're honestly the most comfortable thing I've ever sat in before.  We've been eyeballing them for a few weeks now, but never took the plunge to get any. They have a few different colors, but the limegreen ones just really spoke to us. When I called today to ask how many they had,  the lady told me they had only three lime green ones. Coincidence? I think not, I think it was fate. I asked her if she would hold them for us and she was more than willing to.

There's a good possibility that I'm going to spend 90% of my day from those chairs.

After we finish up there, we headed over to Walmart where we grabbed our store pick up. As much as I hate to admit it, we ended up buying another PS4 controller. We've needed to get one for a while, but they're so expensive we put it off for as long as possible. At least it was with PayPal money, so it's like we didn't spend any money on it at all, LOL.

We grabbed a bite to eat after that and headed home, which is where we are now.  Just standing here, staring at the goslings. You know what they say, between love and madness lies obsession. Until next time...

Love & Peace
