Roll with the changes...

LaVaughn had to be a punk today and get her hair cut. Since we were gone most of the day yesterday, I would have preferred to stay home, but whatevs. It honestly doesn't take long for her to get her hair cut -- it's super short.

Since our stylist is in the direction of the feed store, we decided to stop and get the ducklings some more starter. We thought they were eating the adult food well enough, but they weren't. I'm sure they'll be able to transition 100% after this bag is empty.

It's been an exciting day in mail delivery! Not only did we get all of our glorious Bath & Body Works stuff in the mail, but we got our c-links as well! The c-links were apparently delivered 2 days ago, but for some odd reason the mailman put them on a swing that's nowhere near our house. And it's behind a tree!! What's up with that? I was kind of freaking out a couple days ago when the tracking said delivered. After all, it'll 1100 c-links that I won on eBay for $11... shipped!

It sure beats the $17 I spent on a co-op for only 500 links. Majorly depressing. Apparently they're super sturdy, not like the cheap ones everyone is used to. Surprisingly enough, the ones I found online are equally as strong, so that's a plus.

Such pressing matters, let me tell you!

Miss Emilie is doing fairly well. She's eaten quite a bit today and seems so alert. I can't help but worry that it's a warning sign, hopefully she just has an appetite.

So, my aunt has been pretty persistent about getting rid of the puppies. It's something I'm on the fence about. After all, LaVaughn and I have taken care of them for the past couple months, so we're really close. Yes they're a menace, yes they chase our cats and kill our chickens/ducks, but it's still hard! I know things will be okay once they're gone and I can't think about it anymore, but the leading up to it is what's so hard.

A lady contacted me today about them -- of course, she only wants one. I do not want to split them up, at all! It breaks my heart to even think of splitting them up. She says she lives in an apartment, which is why she can only take one. She's apparently trying to talk her mother-in-law to adopt Max, but I'm not sure. They're coming tomorrow, so I'll know more then.

I'm so ready for my excruciatingly long day to be over tomorrow. I want Sunday to be here, like now! I can't wait to see everyone and have dinner, I'm so excited! It's been close to 9 months since we've all gone out -- I hate waiting so long.

I guess that's all for now, until next time...

Now for some random frog photography. This little guy was perched on the car for the longest time:

Such a photogenic little frog.

I love this one. I think this is either some random baby frog, or a tree frog.

Not bragging, but this looks like something on a calendar. I LOVE my camera! Words cannot describe!!

Our c-link package:

I can't believe it was sitting on the swing for so long.

Check out all these awesome links!

Bath & Body Works package:

My aunt's belated birthday gift.

It even came with a gift bag!

My cotton candy lip gloss.

All our glorious Bath & Body Works fragrances!

Aren't they beautiful!?!?

Una loves the BBW box.

Cutest cat peeking out of a box ever!

Hey, wanna trade?

Well yesterday was long and tiresome -- as was today. I had to drive my aunt to Cape yesterday to get her staples out, fun! At least they were able to take them out, I honestly didn't think they would. She has terribly rotten luck when it comes tot things like that.

And just as I suspected, my phone arrived yesterday. Surprisingly enough, they just left it lying on the patio table -- thanks a lot guys, my neighbors dogs could have had a lot of fun with that. It was left unscathed, thankfully. I was worried that transferring my sims card would be a pain in the butt, but surprisingly enough, it was easy! I took me no time to get my new phone all set up and ready to go. Unfortunately, I didn't back up any of my stuff to iCloud, so I had to manually enter all my contacts again. Good thing I don't have many friends.

In duck news -- as much as I hate to say it, two of our drakes had to go. We had 4 drakes and 5 hens, as crass as this sounds, they were riding the hens too much and balding them. Not to mention, the two drakes that we parted with are also the aggressive of the two, which made the decision slightly easier. It all actually worked out for the best, someone contacted me about them not long after I posted and offered to trade two hens for the two boys. Since he seemed like a fellow duck lover, I agreed to the swap.

We met him in town today at the feed store to trade everyone off. I nearly cried, thank god I didn't. Can you imagine what he would have thought of me? Still, seeing OUR boys in the back of his truck nearly killed me. I'm still reeling over it, but I know it'll be for the best. Now we have 7 hens and 2 drakes. No more gang rapes, no more bullying the other boys.

I'm still sad about it.. :(

Well I guess that's all for now, until next time...

Isn't she pretty?

They have gorgeous faces.

It's the time of the season...

LaVaughn and I headed to Fredericktown today so that we could grocery shop. There are so many limitations here, the 45 minute drive to Fredericktown is worth it after you find all those hidden treasures that bigger markets have to offer. Like, for example, gnocchi and garbanzo beans. Simple, right? These should be a common shelf item at most stores, but not ours. Those are the things we like to grab while we're there.

We also get our hands on 80 ounces of honey -- a jar of honey that size makes 4 or more batches of HPW, so it lasts roughly a month. That's probably my favorite thing that the store has to offer. And you can't beat the $15 price either. Buying that much honey here would cost, on average, $20 -- maybe more. So it's a great deal in the long run. But honestly, who wants to spend that much money on honey? No one said gliders would be cheap.

We had to run by the feed store before we went grocery shopping. We originally got the goslings chick started, but we they were being reluctant in the eating department, I asked their breeder what she fed. That's when she pointed me in the direction of wild game bird starter. Apparently it has way more protein and isn't medicated, like the chick started. So naturally, that's what we got today. Surprisingly enough, it's around the same price of the chick starter.

On our drive to the feed store, we noticed that they were setting everything up for this weekends Azalea Festival. Fredericktown has done this ever since I can remember. I actually think my first memory of it was when I was 7 -- so 20 years ago... wow! We haven't gone in 10 years probably, so we're really considering it this year. A couple friends from work are going, one of my friends dad is playing Saturday until 11 -- he's a classic rock band, how awesome? And to top it all off, an old friend of LaVaughn's is going to be there. It's really a need to basis, but I still don't know if we'll go. More than likely we will, but you never know.

I suppose that's all for now. I think we're actually going to play Resident Evil today. Until next time...

Feeling complete...

I've waiting for this since -- I honestly don't even know how long. Ever since I set out on my duckling endeavor, I've had my eyes peeled for goslings. Which, surprisingly enough, are hard to come by. It seems like everyone that had goslings were either not selling them, were sold out, or they wanted $20-$40 for them. None of which suited me.

Until today, that is. When I woke up, I was talking to my aunt and she told me that someone had goslings for sale. When she said they posted in the Wayne County group, I knew it was fate! After all, Wayne County is like 10 minutes away. As soon as she told me, I quickly grabbed my phone and started browsing the Facebook groups. Sure enough, there they were. They weren't the African/Chinese geese that I had originally wanted, but they were goslings and that was enough for me.

I contacted the lady and asked if they had any available, their age, breed, and if they were sexed. She said she had 15 available -- no worries about not getting one, she wasn't sure if their sex, that they were Embden/Pilgrim mix, and that they were only a couple days old. #winning!

I told her that I for sure wanted two! She came back and was like, "I have to be in Piedmont by 3:30, not sure if you can meet me then or not." It must have been fate, because we were literally getting ready to go to town and pick up lawn chairs. I told her ABSOLUTELY yes and that we would meet her there, which we did.

She wanted to meet next to the feed store, which worked out perfectly because we needed to get some starter feed anyways.  Naturally, we got there about 15 minutes early which gave us plenty of time to go in and get our feed. And surprisingly enough, this chick was actually on time.  It's so rare that when we go to meet someone they're ever on time, I think it's only happened maybe once or twice in the past five years.

After we finished up there, we headed over to dollar store to pick up our new Adirondack chairs. The chairs are seriously some of the coolest things I've ever seen in my entire life. And they're honestly the most comfortable thing I've ever sat in before.  We've been eyeballing them for a few weeks now, but never took the plunge to get any. They have a few different colors, but the limegreen ones just really spoke to us. When I called today to ask how many they had,  the lady told me they had only three lime green ones. Coincidence? I think not, I think it was fate. I asked her if she would hold them for us and she was more than willing to.

There's a good possibility that I'm going to spend 90% of my day from those chairs.

After we finish up there, we headed over to Walmart where we grabbed our store pick up. As much as I hate to admit it, we ended up buying another PS4 controller. We've needed to get one for a while, but they're so expensive we put it off for as long as possible. At least it was with PayPal money, so it's like we didn't spend any money on it at all, LOL.

We grabbed a bite to eat after that and headed home, which is where we are now.  Just standing here, staring at the goslings. You know what they say, between love and madness lies obsession. Until next time...

Love & Peace
