A tooth for a tooth...

Since my aunt is still in no shape to drive on her own, I was the one that drove her to Perryville today so that she could go back to the dentist for a check-up. I have absolutely no problems chauffeuring people around, what I don't like is getting up super early in the morning. Since her dentist appointment was at 1PM, I had to get up at 10:40 in the morning!! Ahhh!

I actually just dozed off for like 20 minutes a little bit ago. At least I've had my power nap for the night!

We got to Perryville at 12:30, so we had 30 minutes to blow before the office opened up after their lunch break. Since my aunt bragged about a thrift store just around the corner, we decided to hit it up. It was just as I suspected, stuffy, crowded, and smelled of mothballs. I can't complain too much, considering I love finding great deals at places like that. Unfortunately, not too many deals were to be had. LaVaughn found a pair of shoes and I found a mini pitcher. That was pretty much it.

After we finished up there, we dropped our aunt of and headed to the pet store. After being in the place for 20 minutes, I'm kind of wishing we hadn't gone in. That place was a nightmare!! The cages were all filthy, 90% of the animals had no water, and to top it off, they had about 7 puppies in a play pin that were just shitting and pissing in the floor!! And of course, they had no food or water.

They also had two cages of kittens. The top cage had 3 kittens, they all looked semi healthy. The bottom cage had probably 4 or 5 and they all had an upper respiratory disease. It was awful! And on top of the two kitten cages, there sat that poor Patagonian Mara!! It's a lot bigger now, so it was really crammed in there. It also had no food or water.

And of course, they had sugar gliders. They had 2 girls and a boy. We got them out and looked at them, even though we shouldn't have. They were SO pitiful!! I wanted to take them all home, but they were all sold. :( All they had was some type of colorful dry food in their cage. It was awful.

I still can't get that awful smell out of my nose.

After we left Perryville, we stopped at KFC so that my aunt could eat. She insisted that we get something to eat to, but we decided to wait and eat at Dairy Bar in Fredericktown. We ate super early today, at like 3 in the evening!! When I don't have to work, we normally eat at 6 or 7. When I do have to work, we eat at 10 or 11, so it was WAY too early for dinner, lol.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. Time to head to Sonic for a half priced shake!

Yes, they had a prairie dog.

Cutest prairie dog in the world!!

And some cute ferrets.

Their cage was filthy.

Albino snake eating a rabbit. :(

Bunnies!

These hedgehogs were mean!

I think these were quails.

Look how filthy their cage was!

Disgusting!

I wanted one of these SO bad!

Look at all the shit in the floor!

They also had no food or water.

And yes, they had an alligator.

Check out my awesome little mini pitcher.

No idea what I'll do with it, but at least I got something from the place.

And lastly, LaVaughn's shoes. Not bad, eh? :)

I'm baaack....

Not sure for how long, but at least for today, right? I can't even remember when I all I said in my last post. I guess reading it would be a good idea, wouldn't it? Anyway, I remember I just rambled on and on and everything was all over the place. I hate the way I added the pictures, it just looks so sloppy. I like to have all my writing done and THEN post pictures. It was a rough time in my life...

I think one the most exciting things I could talk about is the fact that I am now a GC Moderator!!! What is a GC Moderator you ask? Well, you know the forum the we're members of? Here's a link, in case you don't know - GliderCENTRAL. I was approached last week and was asked if it sounded like something I wanted to do. Of course I said yes, I would've been a fool not to. The people who run GC (Eddie, Karen & Gretchen) asked me, Hannah and Sarah all at the same time, so at least I'm not going through this alone. It's really fun, but really confusing at the same time. I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of things, though.

Alright, enough with that, lets talk about more exciting stuff like... OUR NEW COMPUTERS!! There was an unbelievable sale going on and laptops were only $299! Only... pish posh, that a lot of money no matter how you look at it, but it was still a pretty good deal. They're little sleek, black Compaq  laptops with a 2.2 GHz Processor. That's pretty damn good for a $300 computer. And the graphics card is just as awesome. Can't think of what it's called, but it's sweet. We're still using our old computers for downloads and that kind of stuff. We don't want to trash our new ones just yet, lol.

Hmm, I can't really think of anything else right now, so I guess that's all. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow or the next day, cause there's a lot, so keep an eye out for those. Oh, one last thing, we might have the birds sold and we might be getting hedgehogs!!

Love & Peace

Song of the day: Stu's Song

A phone, a movie, and a hedgehog?...

The cause of this trip was the excitement of getting a new phone. Cause yesterday we were talking and realized that our two year contract was up on our cell phones. So if you have a cell phone provider like us, then you know what that means. New phones! We have Verizon and it just so happens that there is a Verizon in PB. So that's why we went today.

Well we got up there at about 10:00 or so. We went in and was looking around trying to decided what phone we wanted to get. Then the lady was like, "Can I help you with something?" and we told her that we were wanting to upgrade our phones. So after we talked to her for a minute she said that neither of our names were on the account. And that we would have to have Gene (LaVaughn's step dad and the account holder) to come and sign for us. So that really bummed us out. But we wanted to go to PetsWay and Hastings anyway. So off we went.

When we got to PetsWay we noticed a couple new animals in the cages. And guess what they were? Hedgehogs! LaVaughn started freaking out and asked me if I wanted one. And I was like, "Dude, do you know me at all?" so we went and asked someone how much they were. And the asking price was a fairly decent $120. So we went over to the small animal isle and seen how much hedgehog food was and how much a new cage would be. And while we were there I did a little bit of reading on hedgehogs. Then after we seen about how much all that stuff would be we went and asked Houston (the devil that works there) if we could hold them. So she came over and got the out for us. But they stayed in little balls for like five minutes. And I do mean little. These little guys were just off the nipple. Then right as they were waking up, two old as ladies jumped in front of us and started petting them. Then after they left we finally got to hold them. And oh my god, they are so freakin cute!! Only one came out of it's ball. That's the one we held. Then we told Houston that we would think about it. So after she put them up and left we kept asking each other if we were really sure that we wanted one. And neither of us were. So we were like, "Let's go on over to Hastings and think about it there." so off we went.

When we got there we noticed that their "Buy two get the third for a dollar" sale was still on. So that made us really happy. We walked around for a long ass time and found some great movies that we didn't have. And they are as followed: The Last House on the Left: Unrated Collector's Edition, Fire in the Sky, Otis, River's Edge, and The Perfect Storm. All super great movies. The last time we were up here we got: Funny Games, Gus Van Sant's: Last Days, Shadow Boxer, and Mystic River (cause someone stole ours). We also got Black Snake Moan and The Day The Earth Stood Still (old and new). But we got those at Walmart instead of Hastings. Anyway, that's pretty much all we did at Hastings.

After we got done there we left and realized that we would be better off without the hedgehog. Even though it was killing us inside. But, there is a good chance we might go back and get it next week. Who knows.

Oh yea, this guy Mike that works at our Grandma's dialysis center told LaVaughn's mom that his sugar gliders just had babies. And he's going to see how much his wife wants for one of the males. So we can pretty much say that we're going to get a baby sugar glider before long... maybe.

Well my fellow rockers, I guess that's all for now. Until next time, keep on rockin baby.
