Under lock and key...

Well, it's official, I need to be quarantined. Seriously, I felt like I was dying when I woke up. My head felt like it was 5x larger than it was, I was congested, I couldn't breath, and I was dizzy whilst I was walking to the bathroom. Yeah, not fun at all! I am so beyond relieved that I called in today. Smartest thing I've done in a long time.

I seriously hope I'm better by tomorrow. I have to do a 1-8, so I'm going to need to do some massive recovering today and tonight. I can't call in two days in a row without a Dr's note. That would be murder! Lets just keep our numbers crossed for a fast recovery time. ;)

Aside from the fact that I felt like crap when I woke up, LaVaughn and I still managed to cut loads of cage sets. Okay, okay, she does 95% of the cutting, but I do all the vines and the tabs. And let me tell you, tabs are not easy to cut! In fact, they may be one of the hardest things to cut!

We also held the joeys for a while today. One two of them... sad face. I feel like we're really slacking in the glider love department. I know it's mainly because I'm sick, but I can't help but feel like they're being neglected if they're not fed treats on a daily basis.

Okay, enough sick talk... it's time to talk Christmas! Well, not really Christmas, more like presents! That's my favorite part about Christmas anyways. It's so amazing how the older you get, the more you like to give than receive. Considering I', nearly 26, I've been like this for a while. Yeah, like a good 5 years! Haha, I'm playing, of course. Ever since I hit 14 I've preferred to give.

Anyway! I veered way off the beaten path. What I was trying to say is that LaVaughn and I (how many times do I say "LaVaughn and I"?) did lots of online shopping Thurs. night and dropped nearly $150 on Christmas presents for everyone! We're buying for 4 people this year, so it's gonna be a bit pricey. That's where savings comes in, lol. We've hoarded most of our cage set money, joey money, and a little work money just for Christmas this year. We're hoping to make up for the last 6 that we've neglected to have.

We actually got a couple of the things that we ordered in the mail today. It was 4 different things that were all the same. Can you guess what they are? Here's a hint... they have 4 openings!

Okay, enough riddles and mindless ramblings. I need to go dope myself up on some more cold meds. Fun, fun, fun! Now lets just hope I survive tomorrow. Until next time...

Love & Peace

A sneak peek at some of the things we ordered online... just some! :)

And this little number is just a teeny, tiny hint as to what we're working on... with flannel!!

Back in the New York groove...

Over the past couple days, I've actually had several urges to blog. Exciting, right? Well just when I think that day is here, I get sick! Not horribly sick or anything, just a beyond disgusting sore throat. Could it be worse? Yes. But a sore throat is a sore throat, no matter how you look at it. I've been doping myself up with Theraflu and Chloraseptic all evening, so hopefully that helps. I'm also gargling with salt water ever couple hours. I was taking little swigs of whiskey, but now that I'm on meds, I guess I better stop. ;)

I know I had intentions to write something interesting, but I've completely forgotten what that was. Oh wait, I know, I was going to talk about Quarantine 2: The Terminal. Holy shit, that movie was awesome! Usually sequels that are straight to DVD bite the big one, but this one is definitely worth the watch! It takes place on the same night that everything happens in Quarantine, which I find to be incredibly awesome. It also fills you in on more that what Quarantine did. My advice: Watch it NOW! Here's the trailer.

Well, I believe that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Notice anything different?

Yes, I took it upon myself to change the blog layout yet again. Those stupid dots were really starting to get on my nerves. This layout isn't too bad, not my usual cup of tea, but decent. I like to find a nice layout and then change the background image, font color and borders so that I can make it my own. Sometimes they turn out good, sometimes they turn out crappy. Anyway, what do you think?

Aside from that exhilarating news, I've got some more to share with you. Do you remember my post from a couple days ago where I was talking about downsizing on animals? Well that's still the play, but we've decided to keep the birds. We've had about 4 calls for them and we decided on one today. The guy said he could probably meet us today, but he would have to call back and let us know. Well, as we were getting the bird cage down, we both looked at each other like we were going to be sick. It probably took us about .3 seconds to decided we didn't want to sell them. The main reason being, they were a gift from our grandma. And I'm sure all of you know by now, our grandma passed away in '09, so giving the birds up is something we just can't deal with right now. As far as I know, the rats and gliders are still a go. The kitten is definitely going to a new home when someone wants her. She's a demon (a very cute demon, I might add)!

Lets see... I managed to get some more pictures of the snow and what not earlier today. Nothing special, I just wanted to grab a few more before all of the snow melted into the great abyss. I tried to get some dynamic shots, but I wasn't on my a-game.

Anyway, I suppose that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Movie of the day: Quarantine

Here are the pics:

Just some updates…

Hey people. We just got back from taking our grandma to her doctor in Potosi, so I thought I’d blog a little. Nothing really exciting to tell you, just some recent news and whatnot. In a few days I’ll probably blog about the new line of horrorfest films called, “Ghost House Underground.” brought to you by Lionsgate. I guess the After Dark crew decided to pass on the horrorfest this year. But not to worry, these movies are just as good, maybe even better. But, we’ll leave that for another blog.

First, I’m going to give you a little update on the kitten situation. We’ve decided to keep only one kitten, the little white one. And not just because she’s white, but because she’s the sweetest one of the bunch. And she’s the only one that doesn’t run when we come near them. And we figured it would be easier to just keep one, and less expensive. So now, that puts us up to 4 cats. And she’s going to be an inside cat, so that’s cool. And we also decided on a name, Mischa.

Well, last Thursday we went to Hastings to pick up a reserved copy of Feast 2. And for those of you who don’t know about the Feast movies, they’re kind of underground. They never went to theater or had a huge DVD release. But they are awesome. They’re directed by John Gulager. And I’m sure a lot of you don’t know who he is, but he’s the son of Clu Gulager who starred in Return of the Living Dead, one of my all time favorite movies. So that makes him that much cooler. But anyway, Feast 2 was totally awesome and totally worth $17. If you’ve never seen these movies, you should definitely rent them. But I have to warn you, they have some pretty nasty parts, so if you‘re queasy or have a weak stomach, I don‘t suggest watching these. Since I never blogged about the first Feast, I‘ll go ahead and rate it for you too. So, I would give Feast a 9/10 and Feast 2 a 8/10. They’re really awesome.

And last but not least… I beat Guitar Hero: On Tour on expert. When I first got the game I played for like 2 days straight and I beat it on hard and almost on expert. I was stuck on the very last song by Lynyrd Skynyrd. But like 3 days ago I got it out and started playing again, and to my surprise, I beat it on the first try. I was shocked. But very proud of myself. But now, I’m like so sick of it. I can barely bring myself to play it. I need a new DS game. Well that’s about all of that.

I know I had more to blog about, but I forgot. So I guess I’m going to end it here. If I think of anything else, I’ll blog it later. Ooh, and if you haven’t seen Quarantine yet, you should schedule it in for the weekend. I guarantee you’ll like it. Peace out bitches!

Song of the day: We Used To Be Friends by The Dandy Warhols

Quarantine...

Well, earlier today, LaVaughn was like, “Hey, we should go to the movie.” and I was like, “Sure, lets go.” So off we went. When we got there, we saw that they were showing Quarantine. And ever since we saw the preview of Quarantine two months ago, we said we wanted to see it. So, that’s the one we chose. And oh my god, that movie was freaking awesome! It‘s one of the best horror movies I‘ve seen in a long time. I‘m not going to say too much about it cause you need to see it and I don‘t want to spoil it for you. There were a couple of parts in the move that made everyone in the theater jump. So please, do yourself a favor and go see this movie. You’ll be thankful you did. I would have to give this movie at least a 9/10. It was that good. Peace out and enjoy the movie. - Megan
