Milla update!

So, I didn't blog about Milla at all yesterday, but that's because I was too busy/worried, so it didn't cross my mind.

Tuesday night Milla's leg swelled up even more, it continued to do this into Wednesday. Her entire leg started to swell after a while, even her poor little toes. This was like a hard swelling, like rock hard. After a while it started turning a deep red/purple color and looked awful. Even the back of her leg looked awful. Her flank started to swell last night, but it was retaining water, as was the back of her elbow area. So overall the swelling and coloration have gotten worse.

With that being said, her temperature has gone down to the 101 range, which is perfectly normal for a dog. She's also started eating more -- even canned food! After Tuesday, she started putting more pressure on her foot with each day. Today she's almost walking completely normal with just a slight limp.

I had to tell all of this to the vet today when I called. His reaction? "Well it's not what we were thinking, bring her on in and lets see if we can get some more fluid out of it." So off we went.

We were taken back nearly as soon as we walked in the door, which was such a huge relief. It didn't take him long to confirm Milla has "pitting edema", which most likely occurred from snake bite. He said to achieve bruising that severe, it would have to be from some type of bite or trauma. He even said that it almost has to be a bite, he just can't find the actual bite mark.

With that being said, Milla received a cortisone shot in the rump, an extra week of her two antibiotics and a weeks worth of a steroid/pain reliever combo. It was such a relief to hear him say that! Man, the stress and worry from the past few days was some how lifted in an instant. This drive home was much, much less tense than the drive home Monday.

In other news, I ran in Walmart to grab a few things on the way home while LaVaughn and Milla stayed in the car. While I was in there I saw a bunch of things on the clearance table, a few things in particular really stood out to me. One of those things being Jimmy Choo perfume for $10! I got two of those, two tubes of roll-on Flower perfume, some One Direction spray and some Aveeno face cream. I got ALL of that for under $35, can you believe it? I love when I'm able to find amazing bargains like that.

I guess that's all for now...

To-Done List...

Yesterday was an interesting day, but a fun day. There were lots of hoops to jump through -- luckily none on fire. LaVaughn and I took aunties dog to the vet, Fletcher. He had to be seen about his arthritis, have his ears checked, nails trimmed, and heart worm test. It was basically an all around check-up.

Everything looked great, even better considering his age (he's 15). He does have a heart murmur, but nothing serious and nothing that can be fixed. He tested negative for heart worms and is on a 6 month regimen, and he was also put on some new arthritis medicine that will hopefully have him frolicking around the yard in no time.

The poor guy had a rough day, though. He loved going for a nice (long) car ride, but ended up puking in the backseat -- yeah, not fun to clean up. He got a burger at the end of the day, so it wasn't all bad.

Lets rewind to when I woke up yesterday. Since I knew we would be gone all afternoon/evening, I decided to grab Zac for a quick photoshoot before we left. These turned out SO much better than the last 2 sets. He's just a peach, seriously. If we didn't already have so many, we would keep him. I'm not gonna lie, the thought of putting him in with Ellie as a new breeding pair did cross our minds, but I'm just not sure if that's a good idea.

Had we gotten rid of Violet and Cas like we were going to do a couple months ago, sure... maybe. Speaking of, I believe they're staying. No one wants them -- not like I really advertised them -- so I guess they're not meant to go anywhere.

I'm just torn on that decision. More than likely, it wont happen.

Okay, back on track. After we got finished at the vets yesterday, we went to Walmart and did a little shopping. We didn't really find much along the lines of Christmas stuff, other than a couple packs of name tags and a GIANT gift back for one of aunt Sharon's gifts. We did, however, find some marvelous things in the beauty isle.

First up, perfume! We found some Taylor Swift Enchanted Wonderland for $12! And we also found some Jordan Sparks Ambition for $9! Can you say winning?

Aside from that, we stumbled upon some staggeringly beautiful eye shadow. It's L'oreal Paris Infallible. Oh. My. God! It's gorgeous, like seriously the most breathtaking eye shadow I've ever seen! I smeared a little of the Golden Sage on my lids and it was stunning, even without a brush! We also couldn't leave without getting the Bronzed Taupe -- amazing!

I've become so keen on the idea of makeup anymore, it's crazy! I rarely leave the house without some on. I'm getting quite good at applying [my favorite] eyeliner as well.

Today was a productive day. Since I had nowhere to go and didn't have to work, I decided to make the best of it. As soon as I got up I let Milla frolic for a while outside before I let the chickens out, then I gave the rats their meds, let the chickens out, put d-CON in our "storage shed", clipped the gliders nails, did the laundry, finished Jennifer's set, and I believe that's all.

I made a to-do list before I went to bed an accomplished every single thing on it except wrapping presents. I think I'm going to save that for next week anyways, so it worked.

Now there's nothing to do except write. The animals have all been fed, I've been fed, the laundry has been folded, and then some. It's been a good one...

Here's baby Zac:

I saw her standing there...

LaVaughn and I met up with Taylor and Payton earlier today. Since we had a neutered scheduled for Seamus at 4 -- and already had to postpone it once -- we just decided to meet up at the vets office. Believe it or not, LaVaughn and I were the ones running late. Usually it's the other way around. Not pointing the finger at Taylor and Payton, just in general when we meet people.

Anyways! We got there at 4:50 and was greeted by the two around the corner. "It's about time!" Taylor yelled, "We've been waiting here for nearly 30 minutes!"

I just looked at her and explained why we were late, handed her the joeys and proceeded to walk inside. She hushed right up as soon as she got her hands on them, lol. She handed me Odin and Lilah not long after that, so I spent the remainder of the day with them, which I loved. Oh! And not to mention, Lilah's babies!! They're getting so big, probably only a month or so to go!

It was so hard handing Seamus over to the vet to get his manhood cut off. He seems so little, yet he weighs 90 grams and is almost 5 months old. He doesn't hold a candle to Kyro, who was barley over 8 weeks. Now that was hard! Luckily, he came through his surgery with flying colors and received many praises from the vet.

After that was over, we contemplated where to go. We considered going to the part, but considering the temperature was in the low 20s, we decided against it. That's when we decided to head to Walmart. It's big, people don't bother you, and we all needed to pick up a few things.

Taylor and Payton, in all their weirdness, needed a shower rod. LaVaughn and myself, on the other hand, were after the Christmas markdown stuff. By the time we actually found the isle we were looking for, we were shocked at the horror and dismay of the shelves. The isle looked like something in a post-apocalyptic movie.

Believe it or not, we were actually able to salvage a couple things. LaVaughn found some type of Hard Candy nail polish set. Normally $10, but we got it for $2.50. Then I found a, I don't know if I want to admit this, but I found a... Justin Bieber perfume set. :( I know, I'm ashamed. Normally the set would have cost $20, but it was marked down to $5, so I got it.

I honestly had no idea how it smelled, so Taylor thought of the bright idea of going to the perfume section and trying it out there, which we did. Believe it or not, it actually smells pretty good. That's not even it, how can a person pass up $5 perfume with lotion AND body wash!?

Oh yeah, I found something WAY cooler than any of the stuff listed above. What I stumbled upon was the Arkenstone! And by that, I mean The Walking Dead puzzle!! And it just so happens that my lovely, lovely aunt loves nothing more than to put together a puzzle. I just hope this one doesn't freak her out too much.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. I'm exhausted and it's time to feed the gliders. Until next time...

Love & Peace

Nothing for myself...

Why must I always feel guilty at the thought of buying something useless for myself? I'm so cheap anymore, it's pathetic. I'll see something int he store and think, "Ooh, that's nice!" but when it comes down to actually buying it, I back out. It's like this massive feeling of guilt falls over me at the mere thought of spending the money on myself. At least I'm not alone here, my sister is the same way.

Now when it comes to animals, it's a different story! If there's something neat that our animals don't have and we think they'll like, we'll get it. Or, for example, if we see two little baby rats int he pet store that need a loving, forever home then there's no stopping us!

Okay, the reason for this rant all because there's was an awesome little bottle of perfume in the store today and we bought it! Yes, we bought it and there's nothing you can do about it! Bahahaha! I apologize for that outburst, I'll try to refrain myself next time. ;)

It's just really funny, because the entire time we were considering buying it, I was thinking to myself, "Man, we could get the animals something with this $4." but I know that's semi crazy. Please tell me there are other people out there like this!?! Please... anyone?

Okay, one that note - I'm out!

Love & Peace
