Doomed from the start...

Never, and I mean NEVER, start the days journey to a pet store off by saying, "We need to promise that we won't buy any animals today!" That's pretty much a dead giveaway that we bought a living, breathing creature today... isn't it? Ugh, why oh why did today happen? Why couldn't we have just gone to Hasting's and left it at that? Why must we be weak, why must we love rats SO much?

Well there you have it, we bough rats today. Yes, plural... rat-S! Two gorgeous, sweet, tiny little boy rats.

We almost bought a hairless boy from Pets-R-Us, but decided not to due to the fact that he was rather large and older. Still, I wanted to bundle him up and carry him home. Leaving him there nearly left me in tears. Of course, as soon as we get to Petsway I'm practically pulled to the rat tanks by some type of magnetic force field. And there at the bottom of the tanks were gorgeous "small" rats. And what they mean by "small" is too young to be taken from their mothers, but we're money hungry so we're going to do it anyway.

It wasn't even the size that did it for me, it was because out of the 7 baby rats that were in the tank, only one came running up to the front, practically ripping his nails off trying to get to me as if I was his long lost mother. It made things 10 times worse that he looks almost exactly like Sally. Even though it was against our best interests, I decided to ask one of the workers to let us hold them. BIG mistake! I held him and one other, but pretty much decided against it when we figured out they were boys. We're really only in the rat business for girls, so we passed and walked away.

We pissed some time away looking at some things for Sookie -- even though I still think she's a devil hamster -- then eventually made our way back to the rat tanks where that same little boy literally ran towards us and JUMPED on the glass trying to get to us! That basically sealed the deal. I tried not to run towards one of the workers, but I couldn't help myself. LaVaughn went and picked out a nice size Critter Keeper to carry them home in.

We, of course, decided on the little boy that looked like Sally, but we also decided to get the little boy that was following him around like a lost puppy. They were the only two that were out and about, so it was kind of meant to be.

The rest is pretty much history. We're are now owners of two gorgeous little rattie boys named, Opie and Jax. They're gorgeous, sweet, and probably the best thing since sliced bread. We're not 100% sure we're going to stick with those names, but as of right now it'll do.

After we calmed ourselves, we decided to go to Hasting's were we actually bought movies instead of just browsing around and buying The Walking Dead memorabilia! Since the only movie shopping we've done in the last 2 years has been online, it was such a rush to actually buy movies in an actual store! We left with a mix of blu-rays and DVDs... 10 of them. And not just run-of-the-mill crappy movies, movies that we love and have always wanted!

We were feeling risky on the way home and decided to stop by Wendy's to try their new Bacon and Blue. Not terrible, but not the best thing I've had either. I loved the aioli, but the blue cheese was a tad too pungent at times. Still pretty good, though. I'd probably try it again.

And now that I've rambled for the past 30 minutes, I guess I had better go. I need to go play with the new boys anyway.

Here's a nice look at all the movies we picked up today. SO excited!!

Remember when Sookie bit me? Well look at it today! O.o

Lost and found...

Okay, I'm not sure that I even mentioned this. If I did, I apologize for repeating myself like a crazed lunatic! Anyways, the cat that showed up at our house a couple months ago, Lucy, was pregnant and ended up having kittens under our house. Well, weeks and weeks went by and they NEVER came out. We thought they might have died, but her undercarriage was always wet and crusty like they had been suckling.

Well when Saturday rolls around - the day I had to work - guess who decided to pop their heads out for the first time!? I'll give you two guesses... That's right, the kittens! Luckily, there are only two. One all yellow one that kind of looks like Bart and a grey striped one with white feet and a white face. That one is wild! We don't even know what it is yet. The little yellow one is a boy and is so, so sweet. We both seriously love him to death!

Now we just have to try and catch the other one for a few minutes to see what it is!

Oh yeah, I got an email from Suncoast (the place we ordered our cage from) and was told that the Fedex guy left one of our cages at the facility! She said that she already issued a new shipping label for it, or something along those lines, so we should get the other cage Wednesday. It's only a day after, so not too bad.

Oh yeah, when I let the chickens out in the yard earlier, I checked for eggs, like I always do, and found a mini egg!! I know it's not going to be a reoccurring thing, one of our young hens is just starting to lay. Still though, it's awesome looking.

While we were in town a little while ago, we were on a mission to find a nice center piece for our new table. Yes, we got a new table and it's gorgeous! We ended up buying a little fake plant, a glass bowl, and some beautiful rustic rocks. LaVaughn tore the plant out of its container and put it in the glass bowl with rocks all around it. It's actually quite beautiful.

Did I mention that we won the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th Harry Potter movies on ebay for just under $10? ON Blu-Ray and they're NEW! It was like the win of a life time! Now i'm on a mission to find the rest! :D

Well, I suppose that's all for now. Until next time...

Love & Peace

Oh happy day!

Hey again! Can you believe it? Two blogs in a week! I'm kind of beside myself right now, lol. After I finished my blog yesterday, LaVaughn and I returned to Fredericktown in hopes of returning that God awful game. And guess what? They took it back, no questions asked! They didn't even make us exchange it for anything, they just gave us our money and sent us on our way. It was a relief to say the least!

After that, we did a little shopping. We had some money saved back and decided to spend it on some stuff that we needed. Well... we think we needed anyway, lol. We got, for the first time ever, an HDTV!! It's a 32' flatscreen Emerson. I believe it's a 720p, but I'm not too sure. It's either 720 or 1080. Anyway, it's awesome and I couldn't be more excited! The picture and sound is so pristine, I'm just astonished by it.

We also got something else for the first time... a Blu-ray player! It's a Magnavox with Wireless Lan! If you don't know what that means, it means that it will pick up WiFi. And since we have a router, we'll get to take advantage of that! Netflix, here we come, lol. It also has Blockbuster, but that's kind of expensive. And it also has something that's kind of new to us, vudu. It's also a video streamer, but it also has apps, like Facebook. I think it's safe to say that it's awesome!

Now for my personal favorite... a new camera!! It's a beyond gorgeous Nikon Coolpix L120. I had my doubts when we first got it, though. The fact that is uses batteries instead of a battery pack kind of annoyed me, but it could be worse. And since I'm such a huge Canon fan, I wasn't sure how good a Nikon would. Well, I think it's safe to say that I'll NEVER doubt a Nikon ever again, lol. It's still pretty early in the even and we've already taken 50+ pictures with it since last night. So expect WAY more in the future, lol.

Aside from that awesome stuff, we also managed to get a few new shirts that were tax free and an awesome little TV stand for our new stuff to sit on. There was a really nice stand for $60, but we ended up getting the $20. I'm glad we did now, it's smaller and looks pretty awesome. I think it's safe to say we wont be buying anything else for months!

Well, I suppose that all for now. The day is young and I feel like going outside and taking some pictures. If I don't die from a heatstroke, lol. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Love & Peace

Check out the macro on this camera!

I'm in love with this shot!

And this one!

And this one, lol.

Well, here's our new set-up. The TV looks so small here for some reason.  :)

Demon cat!

I take it back, this is the demon cat, lol.

I adore this picture of John. <3

And now some of Zoe:

This is probably one of the best pictures of Kira.

Yeah, she's not a big fan of the camera.

The new battery charger. Cause we have to use batteries now...

Nothing says movie night like snow caps! Well, that and popcorn. ;)

More pics of Hans:

And just so you know, not all of these pictures were taken by me. At least half were taken by LaVaughn. :)
