Weekly iPhone Roundup {11.12 - 11.18}

Here we are again with another Friday iPhone recap. I used to didn't take that many pictures on my phone, but for some reason I've been taking a lot more the past month or two. Maybe it's because I subconsciously knew that I would do a weekly photo recap, who knows. Not really, of course, but it's just something that I'm into right now. This is what I used to do before 2018 when I posted on Instagram religiously. I still don't post there, Idk why, but something inside me won't allow it.

This has been a fairly exciting week. LaVaughn got a tattoo on her feet Tuesday, then my camera arrived Wednesday. I cleaned the little fish tank which was WAY overdue, then we set up 90% of the Christmas Village Friday. There are lots of random pictures in-between as well, hope you enjoy!

This was Walmart Saturday - SO packed! It was worse than the picture.

My moms flocked Christmas tree she just ordered.

Found these cute little inflatable ornaments at Dollar Tree - ended up getting two of the colored ones for the side of the house.

Found a decent selection of movies at Dollar Tree too. Half of these are for my aunt and uncle.

Guess there was another lettuce recall this past Monday.

Yes, I made this mess at Walmart. And yes, I did notify someone and apologize.

More snow this past Monday night!

Outside of Artisan Ink in Farmington.

Sketchy ass building, for real.

This is the hallway to the ladies bathroom.

This is the mens bathroom.

The transfer of LaVaughn's tattoo.

This is the tattoo artist, Colin.

It was literally just us three in there. The tattoo place was very clean.

It had an industrial feel to it.

Last one for good measure. I guess I forgot to add the picture of the finished product to this post. If I don't forget, I'll add it to next weeks.

Got some buy three get one free fish at Petco. These are Platys and one ended up dying.

My star light.

I didn't know which picture I liked more, so I added both.

The freshly cleaned fish tank. It was still a smidge cloudy here.

Projector lights from Dollar Tree that my mom got us.

The Christmas Village with just the houses.

The tank today, much clearer.

Some fancy Volpi snacks that our neighbors gave us. This box and then another whole case.

And some of these Boar's Head mozzarella and prosciutto things as well.

More of the Christmas village after we added trees and people.

It still needs the street lights, though.

And lastly, the Christmas village with the lights on.

Company Customer Service Class

I know I'm posting kind of late tonight, but since I have no photos from yesterday or today (probably tomorrow as well), I thought I would go ahead and get a quick word in. I think I mentioned last week that I had a mandatory customer service class to do today, but I'm honestly not sure. It's something that every single person working for that company has to do. Since COVID is still an issue, they were limited to only 5 employees per class. LaVaughn and I ride together, so there was no way they could put us on separate days due to the office being almost 2 hours away from us in Cape. Luckily that wasn't an issue.

I'm still uncertain as to why we had to take a customer service class, considering we don't really deal with customers. I mean, what they were teaching in class today was basically common sense -- I guess a lot of people don't really have that anymore? Who am I kidding, of course they don't. It was only supposed to be an hour long class, but you can always assume something like this is going to run over, which it did by over 30 minutes. It normally wouldn't bother me, but we had a grocery pickup waiting on us.

Speaking of grocery pickup... I always do the grocery pickup at Fredericktown Walmart on our way home, but sometimes we go home through Farmington and I do it there. Not once have I had a bad experience. I mean, on the rare occasion I'll get a bad substitution, but never really anything to complain about. I also think the longest I've had to wait is 15 minutes. Not bad, right? Well Cape Walmart is an entirely different story. They have about 10 or so more pickup spots, which is super confusing because it only goes to 19 on the app and we were in 21, naturally. After I checked in we waited... and waited... and waited. I'm not joking when I say we sat there for over 45 minutes waiting.

In the stores defense, the lady did say they were unusually busy that day and had people call out. She wasn't even supposed to be working that section.

After that I ran in Petco and grabbed a couple Gouramis, then we stopped by White Castle to get some dinner. They have a really awesome deal right now - 10 sliders for 5.99. We didn't have to wait in line too horribly long, but that all changed when they had us park. Then we had to wait a whopping 18 minutes! I was legit on the phone with them when LaVaughn told me the lady was coming towards the car.

It was just a horrible long day and it seemed like we had to wait on everything! This is why I don't like Cape; they're too busy and have too many people.

After our nearly 2 hour drive, we finally made it home. I'm exhausted, like really exhausted for some reason. I think it's because I've been getting up early for the past few days in a row and it's finally starting to catch up on me. I guess that's all for now...

This is a pic I took today on Snapchat, which is where the filters come in. You I hate posting blogs without posting a photo, so this retro pic of White Castle will have to do.

Post-Cape blog, plus birthday gifts and mall finds!

LaVaughn had to go to the pain clinic Wednesday for her quarterly injection, so we decided to go up on Tuesday, stay the night at the hotel and do some shopping. We stayed at our favorite hotel; Auburn Place Hotel & Suites and even got our favorite room this time! I'm going to leave out what room number it is due to the fact that I have a stalker now, but we'll leave that for another blog.

After we got checked into the room, we did our usually mall run where we were able to find some AMAZING deals -- who doesn't love out of season clearance items? Maurice's and Old Navy are our go-to store when it comes to hitting the clearance. Especially if you're looking for style and comfort. We snagged a few Christmas gifts as well -- I also got LaVaughn's other birthday gift that I've wanted desperately to get her from Hot Topic!

After we spent a couple hours exploring nearly every single store in the mall, we called it quits for the day and headed back to our room before 7 PM. We had planned on hitting up Target and Petco, but decided to go there after the injection.

We ordered take-out from Olive Garden again, only because we've been dying to try the Tour of Italy and the Northern Tour of Italy (this one was mine). Of course, it was amazing. I'm a huge fan of their Alfredo and Tortellini. The salads are mediocre, in my opinion. They're overrated $1 bags of Dole salad mix that you get from the market. Where are the baby greens?? The salads are free, so I'm not complaining.

Luckily LaVaughn's appointment went well and we were able to hit up Target (more Christmas items), Petco and Walmart for household items and more groceries than I care to admit.

Of course, we were homesick all night last night and badly missed our cats and other furry critters. It was nice to get away for a day, though, but I still prefer to be home. I'm a homebody -- nearly a shut-in!

I've stolen pictures from my Instagram to share, but they're really nothing special. Hope you enjoy!

Mail call and cat food run...

So, lots of packages arrived today -- by lots, I mean 2. The value outweighs the volume, so to me it's a LOT! I've wanted Riot Gear Glenn for as long as I can remember. He's an exclusive, one of the most expensive ones at that. You can really find him for under $28, which is not something I was ready to pay. Well, I found a guy on the POP! Facebook group that parted with his for less than that, shipping included, as well as a POP! protector. He was one of two POPS! that arrived today.

The other was The Governor with the bloody bandage, also an exclusive. The interior of his box was completely smashed, so I contacted the seller earlier to complain. Hopefully I'll get some type of partial refund. If not I'll just send him back.

Now, since the cats hate their prescription diets and refuse anything they should have, we decided to run to Farmington and stop by Petco to stock up on some stuff that's good for them that they haven't tried. I think we got over 16 cans of food for $25, which isn't all that expensive, considering. I just hope and pray they like some of it.

So yeah, that's my day. I don't like going to Farmington, I like it even less when we go for one thing, end up grocery shopping and not getting home until 8 at night. It also doesn't help when you have a 100 pound GSD in the backseat that will not sit still the entire way there.

PX Exclusives Governor!

My absolute favorite, Riot Gear Glenn.

All our new cat food -- with Glenn peeking in the back. :)

I can fit my friendly old thumb...

Ugh, that song! One of my friends on Facebook shared this really messed up animated song that rhymes in all the worst ways. I'm not sure how old or new the song is, but it's nuts. The sad part... I kind of like it. Just look it up -- the title of this blog is part of the song.

Okay, now time for some of the most exciting news ever... OUR CAGES CAME TODAY! Holy crap, they're amazing! We're now the proud owners of 8 brand new Double Critter Nation cages! I can't wait to get the glider room finished and all of our gorgeous new cages put together.

Gods they're heavy, though. The UPS driver asked where I wanted them. I told him the garage, so he backed the truck up to it and lowered them down, that was it. LaVaughn and I moved them all the way from the front of the garage to the very back of the room that's attached to the garage. My arms are killing me!

Before all of this, I finished up the sets that I started Monday. Well, LaVaughn helped me some. I'm like officially out of fleece now, it's kind of sad. I ordered some from Joann's either Friday or Saturday, can't remember. I got 7 new prints and 7 new solids. I just got the shipping notification today saying 12 prints shipped. You know what that means -- two were out of stock. Now I have to go back to Hancock and order more because Fabric.com is too expensive and Joann has a 3 yard minimum. And just my luck, the anti-pill fleece is on sale at Hancock, so naturally I found another print that I wanted, as well as more of the woodland animal fleece that like 4 people want a cage set out of! Ahhh! I'm going to be a busy bee the next couple weeks.

Also -- not that this is even remotely set in motion -- I might have a new job at the local convenience store that's like 3 miles from my house. They need someone on Fridays and Saturdays from 1-8 and possibly on Sundays. I'm going to talk to her tomorrow... Wish me luck!

Well, I guess that's all for now. Time to go watch some Netflix or read my comics...

Love & Peace

Sets that were sewn today. I think they're pretty.

And lastly, all of our gorgeous new cages! And a little snow that we got today.

There's no going back now...

Finally got a chance to take some decent outdoor joey pics today. Nothing super awesome, but they're decent. It was bordering on being chilly and too cold to be outside, plus it was late, so there wasn't much along the lines of "golden" pictures.

Speaking of joeys, I'm worrying myself to death about Charli's new little boy. He's eating well and gaining weight, but he's tiny and has this crud stuck to his head from being IP for so long. And to top it off she's over grooming that spot and taking some of his hair with it. I'm just so close to neutering Tyler, you have no idea.

While I'm on the subject of gliders, I may as well go ahead and say how terrible we are. Milli posted in SGF earlier and said that Petco was having a huge sale on Double Critter Nation cages. They were on sale for $179, but there was a glitch in Petco's system that allowed a 20% off coupon and a 25% off coupon, making the cages a little over $112 EACH!! Since we've been blessed in finding our joeys homes and I've been selling cages sets, we decided to get EVERYONE a new cage! Even the rats! We had nearly a $600 savings on all of the cages thanks to the coupon glitch. It was insane!

Apparently everyone in the rat and chinchilla groups were taking advantage of this too, because Petco went out of stock within hours and their system was down for a while. I'm so happy we were able to take advantage. I'll breath easy when they're actually here and in our grasp.

I suppose that's all for now, just wanted to update everyone on the happenings, albeit boring happenings. Until next time...

Love & Peace

-Megan
