A sad farewell...

Today has been one hell of an emotional day. Not only did CJ go to his new home today, but so did our ferret, Robbie. CJ's departure was sad enough, but we knew from the time he was two weeks old that he wasn't staying. It was Robbie's departure that really hit home.

LaVaughn and I talked about this literally for weeks! We kept making pros and cons lists, but we would always end up with the same conclusion, "He's fine here, just as he has been for a year." Then a day or two would go by and the same subject would come up. We discussed the fact that he doesn't get enough out of cage playtime and the fact that he is lonely - both of which are true. We knew that we couldn't have another ferret - we tried that before and it was too much. We got him out as much as possible, but knew that it wasn't enough. Then, like I said, after weeks of discussion, we decided to find a new home for him.

I know a lot of people will frown upon this decision, but it was the best decision for everyone involved. He's at a place now where he will get practically 24/7 free roam of the house and be the only pet! I was assured that he would be spoiled beyond recognition. I've been talking to the lady that got him for days. We've emailed, called each other and she's great! I think it's the best place for him to be.

In other, happier news... while we were in Fredericktown today grocery shopping, we decided to pick up some more Tide Pods. We picked up a 14 pack online the other day and they're awesome! I figured our laundry would be the perfect test. We have really thick towels - plus a house full of animals. And believe it or not, they actually work! They smell great and really get the clothes clean. I'm definitely a Tide fan.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Until next time...

Song of the day: Let It Be by The Beatles

It's almost time!

Kira and Logan's joeys are getting SO close to coming OOP. They're at the "you can look and touch, but can't hold" stage and it's torture! We know for a fact what their sex is, though. We have one standard/BB girl and one ringtail mosaic boy! We're extremely excited and already have a home lined up for the little girl. She will be living with our good friend, Erika!  :O)

I do believe she's going to be dark!

Check out that thick stripe!

Logan in the double hammock.

They go there when they're ran out of their pouch. :P

The little ringtail boys tail!

Look at those rings!

He's going to be one gorgeous ringtail sugar glider!

Bonus Gallery!

We had to give Robert a bath a couple days ago and I managed to get a couple cute pictures of him. Hope you enjoy!

 Ferret bath time!

He has a love/hate relation ship with bathing. :)

Nothing like a random post on the last day of the month!

Hey again. Everything's been kind of quiet here the past couple days so I don't have anything super excited to blog about. Truthfully I don't think I have anything to blog about, but I do have pictures to share! Hopefully that's good enough.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. Hopefully everyone is enjoying their last day in January. Possibly the last day in January ever! If the world ends this December, that is, but that's a whole other ball game. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Movie of the day: Savage Streets

Here are the pics:

Some homemade double chocolate cookies that I made last night. They look way better in the picture. They kind of tasted like dried crap. But that's what I get for using instant jello and biscuit mix!

This was taken early this morning before I went to bed.

He looks crazed!

And always seems to want out at the wort times. *eye roll*

This is our gorgeous snack tray for tonight. Among other things, lol.

Yum! Broccoli!

I can feel it coming in the air...

And if you're wondering what I can feel, it's the damn cold weather! Seriously man, it's freezing outside! I just checked the temperature and it said 19 degrees! I tried to stay outside long enough today to take some pictures, but I couldn't stand it! My face was seriously hurting so bad by the time I got back inside, I thought I was going to cry, lol. Good times, good times.

I figured there would be more snow today, but I guess some of it melted in the early hours... bummer. The pictures aren't the best, considering there wasn't enough snow to cover the ground, so everything looks sparse.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Sparse snowy yard.

It's patchy, but it's nice.

Little fat birds foraging for food.

The lone ranger.

Check out this awesome ice cycle. Or death cycles as I like to call them, lol.

Here are some pics from yesterday:

Such a sweet boy. <3

Sleepy sugar glider boy.

"Can I please sleep now?"

Notice the bird in the upper left corner.

Yes another gorgeous sunset.

Seriously so pretty.

Some even look like paintings.

Clean ferret house!

Look at Robbie's cute little ferret face. <3

Ferret power nap!

And a couple bonus videos of Deagol from yesterday and the day before:

Sewing, sewing, sewn!

Hey all! Not much going around on my neck of the woods, just the same crap as always. LaVaughn and I did have to sew some stuff for our dear friend, Melissa. She's the reason we picked up the fleece from Walmart yesterday. I think I  may have already mentioned that... not sure. Anyway, that's what I wanted to share today; pictures of the finished product.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Movie of the day: The Woman (I'll write more about this movie tomorrow or the next day)

Here are the pics:

This is the whole cage set together. It's: 2 glider buckets, 1 cage pouch, 1 vine and 1 tunnel.

 The two glider buckets.

 The vine, pouch and tunnel.

This is the JUMBO ferret tunnel that she requested. This thing is seriously huge!

And the two giant corner hammocks for her ferrets.

And lastly, a new rat hammock for Evan and Jonah. I think they'll like it. :O)

This and that...

Hey again! Not too much going on around here, just the same stuff. We did end up sewing today, which was fun. We sewed some ferret stuff for our friend, Melissa. It seems like it's been months since I've even looked at a sewing machine. Well, that will all change next week. I probably wont want to look at another one ever again, lol. I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about, but you will next week when I get around to writing about it.

There was something in the back of my mind that I wanted to mention in this blog, but it must of slipped my mind. That's a common thing for me anymore. I guess I'm getting old. Speaking of getting older, my aunts dog, Fletcher, turned the ripe old age of 13 last month. He's still as spunky as he was 10 years ago, which I love to see.

Anyway, I suppose that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

TV show of the day: Malcolm In The Middle (I know it's an older show, but it's fantastic and one of the best things to watch on Netflix)

Here are the pics:

I love winter sunsets! Just look at the lighting here!

This one isn't as special, but it's still pretty cool.

This is probably one of my favorites pictures that I've taken recently. In some ways, it reminds me of The Walking Dead. Don't know why, lol.

Some Fender picks that my auntie gave us. There's 2 heavy and 1 thin.

Here are the two jumbo square hammocks that I made for Melissa's ferret.

And the fringe bridge that LaVaughn made for Melissa's ferret.

And lastly, one of our red Paula Deen stockpots. Isn't it beautiful?

Robbie's Day Out: Part 2

The weather was completely awesome again today and I couldn't not take advantage of it. Since I've taken loads of scenery pictures the past few days, I decided to take Robbie out for a little stroll and a photoshoot.

He seriously loves going outside. He loves too rummage around in all the leaves and see all the sights.

I suppose that's all for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Song of the day: Tomorrow Is a Long Time by Bob Dylan

Here are the beyond adorable pics:

Look at those wild ferret eyes.

"Hmm, that smells interesting."

"To the North!"

"Wait... to the East!"

Well this is a new smell.

"I'm on top of the world"

Time for a ferret nap.

Ferret profile.

Wild ferret eyes, lol.

My all time favorite picture of Robbie EVER!
