Well hello Collinsville...

Today we had to journey to a place that is unknown to us. A place that requires a lot of attention and even directions. And that place is... Collinsville, IL. I know I haven't given out too many details about the sugar glider Railroad that we have set up - that's mainly because I didn't wan to say something and then have it fall through. If it wasn't for the helpful people of GliderCENTRAL, it wouldn't have been possible.

The beginning of the RR is us, obviously - then we drive to Collinsville, IL to meet a guy named Steve and his wife. They decided to keep Drake overnight and then meet a lady named, Denise, tomorrow in Indiana. After that, Denise will then drive to Ohio where she will meet Tricia - the girl that's adopting Drake, then she will drive back to New York. Not too complex, right? I think it's going to work out great. Day one, luckily, went super well with no speed bumps.

Well, I can think of one in particular speed bump. It may have possible had something to do with me, maybe almost hitting a guy. Yeah, I know - that's completely awful, but it was his fault dammit! He was walking in front of the car as I was picking LaVaughn up at the door of the gas station. I was talking to her as she was getting in and took off when all of a sudden this guy was walking in front of the car. I didn't even move the car 6 inches and he was pressed up against the car. He was obviously rubbing his leg up against the front of the car as he passed. LaVaughn will vouch for me.

Okay, well I'm exhausted and don't feel like writing anymore. I'd like to sit down and enjoy the rest of my Captain D's dinner - lobster bites included.

Love & Peace

Coming up to the JB Bridge.

Almost there!

Haha, Koch Rd. Anyone know what that sounds like (to me anyway)?

Still coming up to the JB Bridge.

We've made it to the JB Bridge!

The Mississippi River

The St. Louis Arch in the distance.

Still the St. Louis Arch.

Yellow highway.

Kind of reminds me of an 80s highway.

Old looking shot of the highway and JB Bridge.

The old miss, the old man...

Better shot of the Mississippi River.

Beautiful shot of the JB Bridge.

Awesome looking clouds.

Yup, cops! We passed SO many cops!

Awesome clouds again.

It's almost like the sky opened up!

Taco Bell Doritos Tacos. Unfortunately, we didn't wait in line to get one.
This is also the ONLY picture that I took today!

Time for another vet visit...

We had to take our cat, Esther, to the vet today. She's been sneezing and hacking like crazy lately and last night, she was much worse and has stopped eating and drinking - that's when we started worrying.

We didn't have to wait long when we got there before we were called back to the room. The vet looker her over and said that she probably had some type of upper respiratory infection - which we figured. The vet also decided to run a Feluke test, just to rule it out. And thankfully... it came back negative! So yay! After that, she prescribed her some antibiotics and told us to giver her 5mg of generic Zyrtec for 5 days to help with her nasal issues and that was about it.

Since the vet that we saw was new, LaVaughn decided to ask her if she would treat sugar gliders. And... she said yes!! She's only ever seen one sugar glider before, but she's willing to learn and has actually done a neuter before! She also said she could do our fecals and everything! We were seriously stoked, lol.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. Time to go give Miss Esther her meds. Until next time...

Love & Peace

Here are the pics of Esther at the vet's office:

 Look at those crazy eyes!

You can just tell from her expression that she doesn't want to be there.

Yeah, so if you're animals are infested with fleas... be prepared to pay for Frontline!

Her Clavamox... don't you just love that price tag?

Boring kind of day...

We really don't have too much going on today. Had some fleece to cut, but that's about all. Tomorrow it's all about sewing - yay!

Aside from that, I also got a new pair of shoes today. My aunt brings me and LaVaughn shoes that she find, almost on a monthly basis. And sometimes, she really hits the jackpot. And by jackpot, I me practically brand new pairs of Chuck Taylor's!

Well that's all for now. See you on the flip side...

Love & Peace

Some of the fleece that we had to cut today. Fun!

And here are my new - Vintage - 80s style Converse. Not too bad, eh?

I like the pink and aqua/turquoise Converse label.

Saturday's happenings...

I can never think of a good title when I'm planing on writing about such random things. I always end up using the day that I'm posting on, musings or a combination of the two. As you can see, today is a day for a combo!

I'd like to start out with what I think is the most important... the names of our three new albino mice! Yes, we've decided on a name. And they are: Glen, Tony & Steve. Cute, eh? We thought so too. We're getting a little better at telling them apart, but it's still a working progress. We rely mainly on their size and personality.
  • Glen is the biggest of the three and semi shy. He'll let you pick him up with no problems and he'll even sit in your hand. He's not the biggest fan of being touched while he's roaming free in the cage, though.
  • Tony is the medium sized mouse and the sweetest! He's been okay with us touching him from day one. He'll even go so far as to jump in our hands! He's great.
  • Steve is the tiniest and the most skittish. He runs when you put your hand in the cage, but he never bites. He needs the most work.
They're ALL great and just the cutest little things ever! I don't regret getting them for one second!

In movie news... We watched this weird ass movie called The Woman the other day. I wasn't aware that it was a Jack Ketchum film until I saw his name in the credits at the beginning. I knew then that we were in for a treat. I mean, if it was anything like The Girl Next door we would be. And I was right! This guy has a serious torture complex and just loves to see women when they're down. And yes, he even likes to see them kicked when they're down. Personally, I have no problem watching a movie with blood, guts and violence, but not a lot of people do. So more than likely, Jack K. and I would get along well. Back to the movie... of you in any way liked The Girl Next Door, then more than likely this is the movie for you. I mean, what's not to like? There's a wilderness woman being kidnapped by a rich lawyer and tied up in his cellar. And let not forget about the abused wife and perverted son! Have I caught your attention yet? Thought so. My advice, watch it for yourself and see what you think.

Okay, I believe I've blabbed enough for now. Don't forget to check out the pics. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Love & Peace

And lastly, Charlie. This was taken last night when he decided to come in and nap.

Well hello Twitter!

Yes, it's true... I've signed up for Twitter. I never thought I would, but part of me knew it was only a matter of time. The main reason I did it was because I wanted to tweet to Talking Dead. The show that comes on after The Walking Dead on AMC.

Anyway, the link to the newly opened account is HERE if anyone is interested. And like I've been saying, if you follow me, I'll follow you.

Until next time, you know where to find me...

Happy Tweeting!

Snoop Dogg in da house!

Not really, just me. I bet you're jumping out of your seats in excitement aren't you, hehe. Like I've stated several other times before, I despise blog titles. It's just too draining and awful to think of quirky title after quirky title. Anyway, I thought I would blog for a while, since I had nothing better to do.

I'm going to start of by talking about the layout of my last blog. I used this new program called Windows Live Writer. It's pretty cool, considering you don't have to write your blog through your dashboard, you can simply do it from your desktop, which I love. And I have a love/hate relationship with the photo layouts. It's pretty cool that you can have albums and slideshows, but it's kind of daft to have to actually click on them. I don't know, it's weird and too new. Like I said, it's a love/hate relationship. So for now, I'm going to use the classic way of uploading them. Who knows if that will change or not.

The past week has been pretty boring. We've gone to Fredericktown probably 3 times now and to Poplar Bluff once. Since we can sew now, we decided to pick up a no sew fleece double pack and make a cage set or two out of it. And guess what, we did! And guess that else? We actually sold it! We even have some left over fleece, so we'll probably make a small cage set out of that. And when we go back to Freddy, we'll pick up some more fleece! So expect more sugar glider cage sets in the near future!

Here are some pics of the fleece and cage set that we made:

Ribbon, for the hooks.

Pouch

Bridge

Vine. We actually made 2 of these.

Hammock

Hut

The whole set together.
We, well LaVaughn, managed to make a really cute glider bucket out of this fleece two. We actually sold it a couple days after she made it. It was awesome! Here are some pics of it:

And while we're on the subject of sewing, I'll go ahead and talk about the awesome little hammock I made for Robbie. The one he had in his cage was really awesome, but it was with and pink with flowers on it. Definitely nothing for a boy. Not that color matter to ferrets, but still. I managed to find some pretty cute material that almost matches his circle bed thing he has.

Here are some pics of the hammock and Robbie:

I think he approves. :)
Lets see, what else has been going on? Oh yeah, we got a new air conditioner! It may not be that exciting to you, but with temperatures well into the mid 90s, an air conditioner greater than 6300 BTUs is a blessing! We got it from a rental place in town. The guys in there are actually really gnarly. Anyway, that's what's going on with that, lol.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Kira's a grandma now!! I guess that would make us great, grandma's, lol. We had originally sold Draco to Elena, but she had some personal issues and ended up moving back to Hawaii. So Draco and his cage mate now live with a lady named, Janet. She's really nice and we actually almost bought a joey from her last year. Weird... Anyway, they had twin boys about a week ago and ones looks to be a Black Beauty. It's very exciting!

Here are some pics of them:

Aren't they adorable!

I can't really think of anything else exciting to talk about. We did manage to stumble upon a frog the other night. LaVaughn got some pretty wicked pictures of it. Here they are:

We also stumbled upon a snake a couple days ago. It way just laying there, in the middle of the road. It was definitely a baby snake, so no telling how many are around our house now. Here are some pics of it:

Ok, I think I've put in enough writing for one day, so I guess I'm off. Don't forget to check out the rest of the pictures after the jump! Until next time, you know where to find me...
