I knew this was coming...

There comes a time in everyone's life when they realise that they're in over their head. It could be due to a relationship that they're in, a job, money or whatever. Sometimes it just gets to be too much and you become overwhelmed and/or depressed. Well, in a way, that's kind of what we're dealing with. Not with any of the above, but with animals. I know, it sounds crazy and you may call us hoarders, but we're not. We don't have excessive amounts of the same kind of animal, just a bunch of all different kinds. We've thought long and hard about what I'm getting ready to tell you. And believe me, it wasn't an easy decision, but we've decided to downsize our animals.

Starting off with the sugar gliders. We're now up to 8, which isn't bad, but it is a lot. Especially since they all need an equal amount of attention and play time. Sometimes the thought of getting them all out at separate times is just exhausting. And that makes me feel like a major ass. Cause every time we go in the glider room, there all of their cute little faces are, staring back at us like, "Please get us out!" It's just really sad. So that's why we decided to find most of them new homes. We are keeping Sadie and Kira, though. Sadie and Pip have been apart for a long time now and Kira and Chazz were recently split up due to fighting. In a way, it worked out... I guess. Of course, it's going to be EXTREMELY sad and depressing, but I know it will be for the best. I really want them to go to someone who will love them and give them loads of attention.

Aside from the gliders, we're also going to re-home the little calico kitten (who we named Sophie but never call her that) we found last month. She's extremely sweet and cute, but 3 cats in the house is just too much. So hopefully we can find her a good home where she'll be an indoor cat.

We're also going to find the love birds a home. Actually, we already found them one. An older guy who LOVES birds called last night and said that he definitely wanted them, but he would have to see if his daughter would meet us. He lives like 3 1/2 hours away, and his daughter only lives like 2 hours away. So we're going to meet her in Park Hills and then he will just come get them from her house when he can. Hopefully everything goes that smoothly, lol.

And lastly, we're going to try and re-home the rats. We both love them SO much, but they need to be with someone who will spend a lot of time with them. Yes, we play with them and hold them a lot, but they're still not getting the attention they need and want. Some lady called last night and said that she was wanting to get her son rats for his 14 birthday. She said the only problem was the driving distance, she lives in South County but she had property in Farmington. So that's probably where we'll meet her if she wants them.

I believe that's all we're getting rid of. And if you add that up, you'll come to a total of 11. Yes... that's 11 animals that we're just trying to re-home! It's a little scary when you look at it that way. I just hope that we're able to find them all good, loving homes where people will take really awesome care of them.

Well, I suppose I've babbled enough for now. Until next time, you know where to find me...

Love & Peace
